4 Cat and... Mole?

Begining his climb down, Lucas was surprised by how smooth it was. No bloodthirsty creatures ready to devour him at a moment's notice, and although the darkness seemed never to end, There appeared to be the occasional glowing vine wrapped around rocks on the wall to light his way.

About an hour of descending the pit, Lucas managed to get to the bottom, where he once again found a few glowing mushrooms scattered about the ground. Farther off, surrounding the room were several tunnels that looked to be hand dug.

Without thinking too deeply, Lucas picked one to walk adventure without restraint. Although he knew he'd probably live longer with more caution, his curiosity was just too intense.

The tunnel had many twists and turns. A gentle breeze whizzed by every once in a while. Every ten steps, a glowing mushroom would be present to light his path further.

Walking for an undetermined length of time, Lucas panics when the shadow of a tall figure could be seen coming from the next bend in the path.

With light steps, Lucas makes his way to the corner to get a glimpse of what made that shadow. Upon sneaking a peek around the corner, Lucas was startled to find the shadow of a human figure holding a club.

Delighted to see another human, Lucas didn't attempt to hide any further. Coming out from hiding, Lucas calls out to the person. "Hey! Who are you?! My name is Lucas! Can you tell me where this is? Do you know the way back to the surface??" Shooting off several questions at once, Lucas never gave the figure enough time to respond.

As the figure turns around to face Lucas. All of Lucas's hair stands on end. What he thought would be a person in a similar situation turned out not to be human at all.

With a bald and wrinkled head, Beady little eyes, and a pair of buck teeth that are easily as long as fingers. It was the head of a mole rat on the body of a muscular human male.

The Mole man was equally as startled as Lucas and snarled. "Who goes there?!? Do Vermin dare trespass on that Valder Kingdom?!" Lucas takes the initiative to attack, Plunging his sword at the mole man. The mole man goes to counter but was fooled when Lucas feints, making the mole man lose his target and hits the cave wall, causing bits of rocks and dust to fly about.

Running right up to the mole man's chest, Lucas quickly ran the sword through its chest and out the back of the mole man.

Blood splattering, The Mole man lets out an echoing scream far into the tunnel before collapsing to the ground.

"Cough, Cough!" The Mole man coughs up blood, with labored breathing stared at Lucas with hatred before breathing his last breath.

Putting his finger above the nostrils of the creature. Lucas confirmes, the mole man, took its last breath and started searching the beast for its possessions. Lucas managed to get a hold of a few trinkets, A belt which could hold his sword more secure to his waist, a leather pouch with a few crudely made silver coins.

As Lucas examined his spoils of war, he heard a similar scream echo in the distant tunnels to that of the mole man.

Quickly packing up his things and returning the previous way, Lucas ran as soon as he could while trying to maintain silent steps.

Making his way back into the larger room, Lucas spotted some more giant mushrooms and quickly made his way over. About as tall as he is, The Mushroom stood about 6 feet tall at its peak while the lowest part of the cap was at 5 feet. Ducking a little, Lucas got under and his behind the step, peering out to see the newcomers.

Scattering footsteps sounded from the previous tunnel, Where a group of about 15 of the same Mole men emerged from — all were bearing cold weapons such as spears, clubs, and hammers.

A Larger Mole man took the lead with a large blade on its back, with leather shoulder pads and its chest bare with only straps. Numerous scars covered its torso with a big, gruesome one in its chest where its heart is.

"phew phew, Search for the beast, Men! Probably another Stalker invaded Valder tunnels! I'll smash it to pieces!!" The large Mole man was spraying a shower of spit as he yelled at his men. "Yes, Captain!"

The Mole men scattered into the room while searching for any signs of beasts. Lucas paid very close attention to the odd creatures as they seemed very civilized and could be willing to help him if proved to be friendly.

Contemplating about revealing himself, Lucas quickly squashed the idea as he just killed one of their races. As Lucas was deep in thoughts, a couple of mole men came near him before he focused on maintaining his silence.

Lucas watched the mole men get quite close. The more he watched, the more relaxed he got. Their eyesight was very poor, probably the result of living in this dark place all their lives.

Even as they got right next to Lucas, they still didn't notice the human right beside them.

Lucas circled the step of the mushroom to keep some distance from them and kicked a pebble "Pak!" It echoed through the cavern. With every Mole man staring in his direction, Lucas was in a panic!

"Aaaaarrrgghhh!!" But as the Mole men were about to make their way to him to investigate another giant spider sprung out of a dark corner and latched onto one of them. Sinking its fangs deep in the poor Mole man's shoulder and starting to drag him back into the darkness!
