98 Chapter 98: Survive the Crazy Master
~Third POV~
*Vroom*
Suddenly transported away from the underground cavern of the Fairy Tail guild away from there they were now inside the separate space of [Shambhala] as Mavis was not wanting to wait for the chance to make a guild war with Phantom Lord.
Of course, Tatsumi and Hinata managed to both evade such an outcome with Tatsumi quick thinking of dragging her away from there to his separate space.
Both tried to calmly reason with Mavis but unfortunately for them, Mavis has the body and mentality of a 13-year-old girl, and to make this worse she is DEAD set on this path either one of two options occurs…
One is that she calmly stands down…
*BOOM*
Or she goes through with her words…
This happens to be the latter here as Mavis releases her magic power causing the two to be very pressured by her magic power as Mavis's body creaks a bit as she asked Tatsumi 'kindly' as possible, "Now… Tatsumi I know you want this quest of yours done with yes? Just let me handle Phantom Lord and then you can be home right? I mean it's not like they are a threat correct?"
*BOOM*
Tatsumi was very much surprised at Mavis's sudden change of tone but then narrowed his eyes at her challenging her magic power with his <Conqueror Haki> as they clash.
Sparks of black lighting and pink lighting clashed with Mavis somewhat surprising her with a raised eyebrow but that was it in her eyes.
At this Tatsumi tries to explain to Mavis as best as he can as he began to explain to have patience with her calmly, "Now Mavis please have some time to think about what you are doing calmly here. Just – "
"<Heavenly Wolf>."
Unfortunately, his words fell on deaf ears as Mavis ignored him as her body has begun to work again of a 13-year-old being the most emotional in one's youthfulness.
Most 13-year-old teens are dealing with the emotional and physical changes that accompany puberty, so it's normal for your teen to feel uncertain, moody, sensitive, and self-conscious at times. During this time, it becomes more important than ever to fit in with peers.
So, at times kids of these ages happen to have some moody settings like Mavis learning that her family and members are being threatened by Phantom Lord as her current emotions are described with one word…
WAR.
Despite this Mavis's real magic power relies on her <Illusion Magic> as, during her time at Tenrou Island, Mavis was self-taught <Illusion Magic>. Her illusions are so detailed that they appear to be truly life-like, and Mavis has used them on occasion to intimidate people, such as by creating fearsome beasts that look deadly and summoning an army of knights.
A form of Magic that revolves around the use of illusions, allowing the caster to create illusions that deceive even respectable Mages. The user can also determine who sees and hears the illusions and who doesn't.
The Magic has quite a large range and as such some similar to it with <Memory Control> and <Charm>, when a target or the caster themselves becomes aware of an illusion cast on them, the effects of the illusion will begin to wear off and disappear.
The more advanced illusionist mages are capable of creating individual illusions that possess their personality and feelings or at least mirror those they're copying this was thought to be an extremely frightful level of magic even by Jura Neekis.
In addition, each illusion can possess a physical form, and be capable of doing lifelike things such as performing Magic and inflicting real damage. As such Mavis being the First Master of Fairy Tail as well as a powerful Illusion mage can easily reach this level with her illusions.
Mavis raises her arms above her head and creates an illusion of a humongous wolf. The wolf's frightening face and forelegs appear to be covered in a dark flame pattern, and its paws sprout saplings similar to the ones seen on Tenrou Island.
"Grr…"
Seeing it for the first time Tatsumi could feel the power it radiates from it as Hinata manages to avoid a fight she senses between the two as Mavis demands Tatsumi, "Sorry Tatsumi as you can see, I'm VERY angry with those at Phantom Lord. So, let me deal with them by setting me free and you don't have to worry about them… EVER again."
Tatsumi didn't know why but he felt a chill run down his spine when Mavis of all people phrases those words not expected of a master of Fairy Tail but then he remembers one that Mavis has now begun to grow again and such brings the baggage of 13-year-old girl would have emotional issues.
But the actual important part was on his end a miscalculation as he was reminded of something he has forgotten that made him want to kill himself over a thousand times, 'Fuck! I forgot that Mavis is still bat shit crazy!'
What Tatsumi meant by this was true he failed to take into account what would be Mavis's current emotional and rational state be once the curse was transferred.
Transferred not destroyed or ridden off.
For a time, Mavis lost her kindhearted, outgoing, and innocent demeanor. Upon discovering she had the Ankhseram Black Magic curse and would take life in return for how much she cares about it, she becomes a very frightened shell of her former self, driven to despair and madness.
In this state, she starts exhibiting the concentric red eyes that Zeref has under the curse, and spends over a year in seclusion, far removed from anywhere she could destroy innocent lives.
Consequentially, Mavis's appearance goes from pure yet elegant to badly broken and disheveled. She becomes so hopeless that she tries and fails to end her life through starvation.
However, after she is released from the curse, along with her consciousness somehow being released from her body, she regains her original good nature and cheerfulness in response to no longer being affected by the curse in her incorporeal form.
However, there is a noticeable change in her behavior towards seriousness, because of a combination of lingering darkness, guilt, sadness, and regrets hanging over her as she worries about the consequences of her past, the future of her guild, and humanity.
And sadly enough though Tatsumi has to deal with a very crazy and emotional illusion master at this current moment as the Mavis in front of him is currently still reasonable but also dangerously insane at the same time.
Clicking his teeth he brings out [Pain] knowing a fight is inevitable as he began to reason with Mavis hoping she backs down from the fight, "Tch. Sorry Mavis but just because in the past you could get through the violence of war and targeting them because they harm your family isn't right going on a murder spree on them."
Mavis merely tilts her head a bit at that as she begins to ponder something finding to have some reason now knowing the concerns as she finally came to her conclusion, "My apologies it seems I may have misworded some things here. It wasn't a simple please but command here."
Tatsumi sighs at this seeing that Mavis misses the point of his words as he kept an eye on the beast as he began to rush towards it not wanting to harm their new member…
*Swoosh*
"<Tenrou Soldiers>!"
When Tatsumi took care of the illusion of the wolf a large number of soldiers came out of nowhere as Mavis raises her arms above her head and creates an illusion of a whole army. All of the "knights" wield a sword, shield with an insignia of wings, and wear armor.
Mavis then floats in the air using her magic as she coldly looks at Tatsumi catching him by surprise as she spoke calmly to him, "Sorry Tatsumi but I care about my guild I hope you understand. But I need to take care where I failed."
*Thump**Thump**Thump*
*Thump**Thump**Thump*
*Thump**Thump**Thump*
Tatsumi's eyes widen at this as they all rush towards them as they came in to charge Mavis also takes this chance to warn him happily, "Sorry Tatsumi but I need to go back and teach those fools a lesson. But don't worry I won't beat you up too much ok? Tehe?"
That simply annoyed Tatsumi but he did use his <Eyes of the Lord> to copy down Mavis techniques as well as her magic in the process. But he wasn't going to use it as the fire began to erupt from him catching Mavis's attention seriously now.
The flames of the Hell Flame began to erupt brightly as the illusionary soldiers as they got close began to burn up automatically because of the unique feature of the fire itself. The unique feature is that <Flame Form> as the soldiers made of magic began to get dispel immediately despite having an infinite magic source from their castor Mavis as she was surprised.
The fire from Atlas Flame has the unique property of being able to dispel any magic that attacks done in person. Meaning despite Mavis's infinite magic power means jack shit against this counter of Hell Flames of the <Flame Form>.
Tatsumi and Hinata only explained about what happened in the past quest but never what they did in Fairy Tail only the necessary as Mavis narrows her eyes at this as she spoke seriously, "I see… I didn't expect you have a method to cancel against the magic of the Ethernano… I may have assumed against to get past the Fairy Tail sigil but never a counter with the time here."
Tatsumi smirked at this as all the Tenrou soldiers couldn't even get anywhere near Tatsumi so long as his <Flame Form> was active as he made a toothy grin at Mavis mocking her even, "Oh? So, the great Fairy Tactician doesn't have a counter for me already?"
"Gather! O river of light that's guided by the fairies!"
"Shine! To perish the fangs of evil!"
"<Fairy Glitter>!"
*BOOM*
That was when a giant pillar of light hit Tatsumi head-on as he had his [Flame Form] active as it hit him head-on in a small area…
The whole area of the separate space was then gone in that area as the power of the attack managed to uplift the ground and a few trees in the area from Mavis destructive attack formed a circular crater on the ground where Tatsumi once stood…
That was when Tatsumi saw Mavis going for the big move her special attack of one of the great magic of fairy tail… <Fairy Gillter>.
<Fairy Gillter> is one of the Three Great Magics of Fairy Tail. It is a Magic that rivals Fairy Law and is a radiance of merciless light that rejects the presence of any foes. It is also an exceedingly complex and unfathomably intricate spell that collects and concentrates the light of the sun, the moon, and the stars.
Mavis looks up from above as she sighs her breath before realizing something as she made her face expression more fearful at what she did as she has her reasoning again, "Wait… I… I didn't mean… oh no, no, no, no… I just wanted to teach those meanies a lesson but… I never wanted to go this far…"
"<Hell Flame Dragon: Iron Fist>!"
*BAM*
That was when Mavis was hit on the stomach as Tatsumi was very angry at that little stunt she did. Fortunately for Tatsumi, he had his <Flame Form> on to dispel the light attack of <Fairy Gillter> thanks to the hell flame property.
At the sudden attack on the chin forcing Mavis to become unconscious, Tatsumi bitterly gets her not happy with the sudden mood changes as he grits his teeth at this, "Oh fuck being nice now. I know she has her mood swings because of her body but you know getting hit by ger fucking great fairy magic I'm about to lose my patience with her to hell!"
He even breaths out fire from his nostrils at how angry he was but manages to see Hinata get away from the fight as she returns seeing that Tatsumi won by pure luck and counter against Magic.
If it wasn't for that he would've lost hands done as he tosses Mavis towards Hinata as he began to walk off telling her as kindly as he could, "Sorry Hinata but can you take care of… Mavis for a bit… I'm not in a good mood right now so I need to let off some steam can you take care of her for now… I need some time alone."
*Swoosh*
Leaving the separate space to Hinata and Mavis she could only sigh at how frustrated it was going to explain to the new members about the brief infighting that occurred with the newbie Mavis and Tatsumi.

A/N: Here's tomorrow's chapter when post as you can see there were unforeseen complications that the MC failed to take notice of when recruiting Mavis as in he forgot her personality of being crazy as I did a background check on her personality and was somewhat surprised. But it did add more reasons for the MC to show his human emotions like anger or bitterness about someone to show he isn't perfect.
A/N Extra: This was supposed to be an earlier chapter today but got deleted and had to rewrite this chapter from scratch sorry about that with chapter 97 hehehe... Also, this is to show how Mavis could fight so what do you think about her mood swings of now being a normal 13 and growing girl?
