3 A world of my own

"Yes! I'd love to see my world." Zanir exclaimed. Thoughts ran through his head, of a lush and verdant world. He could practically see the winding valleys and rolling plains. Or maybe it would be a coastal area, with a nice bay where he could build a dock and harbor.

[Host can begin transfer at any time]

Zanir put his thoughts away for the moment and said: "Take me to my world, System!" He seemed to wiggle out of existence and fade away.

[Host world initialized, no dimensional power available]

[Basic world constructed]

*Ding*

After a blinding flash of light, Zanir appeared at the center of a small patch of dirt. This dirt appeared flat, lifeless, and dry. It went out for about 5 feet in every direction, totaling 10 feet in diameter. The system told him that was just over 3 meters.

He swept his gaze around and noticed a small rock sitting on the ground. Next, to that, he saw several weeds stacked up. Even the clippings were there.

However, there wasn't really much else here other than what he absorbed earlier.

Beyond the dirt, Zanir saw a blank white background. He was not able to walk into that area at all. It blocked his passage like a solid wall. He wasn't impressed with what he saw so far.

Zanir stooped down and scooped up a handful of the dirt to inspect it. He had to find out why it looked so terrible. 'Is a world even worth having if it's this run down?' he wondered.

[Material detected:

Type: Soil

Level: 0 Default

Description: This dirt is provided free of charge by the system. It cannot be used to plant any crops or for any system functions. The only reason it is here is so you don't fall into the void.]

"System what is wrong with the ground in here?" Zanir asked. Perhaps the system would be able to provide some kind of an explanation. He was just getting started after all.

[Host you have not absorbed any material for the ground yet.]

Zanir found that the explanation was simple enough, but he wanted to clarify. "So you mean I can just get any kind of dirt or soil? What about mud?"

[Host is correct any type of soil, dirt, or mud could be used but the system would advise against slippery materials as they could pose a safety hazard]

"Would I be stuck with the floor material I pick or could I change it out?"

[Host is free to change the material at any time but it is recommended to upgrade your world from basic as soon as possible]

"Can you tell me more about the world itself and what you mean by 'basic world'?" Asked Zanir. He wanted a more overall description, which he could listen to, to help clear things up.

[The world you congeal will be your first step into creating a dimension. It will generate dimensional power that host will able to use for a variety of functions. The host is encouraged to think of the points as a type of currency and energy. Functions will range from convenience such as remote material collection to material duplication. Be sure to save some of those hard earned points for exclusive merchandise available at the spatial shop. Everything you absorb will be added into your world and can be purchased later if you have enough points]

[The system is running a basic world which means it's completely out of dimensional power and many of the abilities and functions are sealed. It's sometimes called a 'Level 0 world' and be reactivated by absorbing the required materials. If the host can reach level 1 many basic functions will be unlocked.]

Zanir wanted to get started right away so he asked: "What kind of materials do I need for a complete world?"

[Host requires enough materials for the system to reactivate the ground subroutine, aqua subroutine, and environment subroutine]

Zanir was relieved to hear that the requirements to get out of basic were all very easy to get. He considered asking for measurements but decided not to, since the system gave him periodic updates while absorbing materials.

'Guess I better get back' Zanir exclaimed. His stomach was starting to rumble, and he realized he wasn't keeping track of the time. It had only felt like a few minutes had taken place but he couldn't tell as the small blank room gave no indication.

With a wave of his hand, he appeared back in the same old field. No bright lights or anything happened this time. Zanir chalked it up to the world being generated upon first entry. His stomach grumbled again so he decided to head back home for dinner. He'd finish those pesky weeds later. Zanir really wasn't worried.

Apparently, he had the whole world in his hand.
