41 *Side Chapter* Worker's POV

It's been a few weeks, since we moved, into this strange, new world. At first, I couldn't believe that this place was real. After all, it looked like something out a storybook. Every morning, the sun shines along with a gentle breeze. At night, there aren't any stars up above, but it still looks beautiful.

There are a few things, that take getting used to. It's definitely another dimension, so you have to remember, that there are different laws that govern things. One example would be the warehouse. A simple looking building, we still don't know what's really happening, on the inside.

On the outside, it's a regular building, with the entrance door open, slightly ajar. The only thing is, that the entrance is pitch black. No one can get past the darkness, it's like a pitch black wall. Whatever we put inside, simply vanishes. Far as we can tell, it's a one-way storage.

'Round these parts, the work is simple, just a little mining in the morning, then we make sure the crops and animals are doing alright.' It's a fraction of the work, that they would have if they were working anywhere else. Nobody would complain, with such a light workload.

What's more, is that all of the creatures are docile, at least to the humans. To their surprise, even the apex predators, like wolves, were friendly and gentle. Only showing their power and speed, when hunting other animals.

Even the emerald crabs that came in a few days ago, were docile, instead of ravenous. They still moved in swarms, but they no longer devoured people whole. Instead, they just tickled people, as they moved over them.

It shocked the heck out of me, when I first arrived, at how the world seemed to expand and grow, and in such a strange manner. It wasn't worth making a map, what was next to each other today, might be farther apart tomorrow.

With the cafe and brewery, there is plenty to do, after working. Pull up a seat, enjoy a nice meal, or have a drink with friends. We've even got some people putting on plays, in the nearby park. Overall, life's good.

Sure, some of the people were worried at first. Not being to go home, they'd wondered if they had been kidnapped. I had similar thoughts at first, but after a few weeks here, you start realizing, it's not so bad.

Nobody can reach us here, more importantly, no one can hurt us anymore. I say that freedom is overrated, we were free out there...

Free to be disrespected and worked to death. Free to be beaten and enslaved. In here, we can have a second life, another chance. No more lying, no cheating, everyone works together here.

We never know what's going to arrive here tomorrow, but every day is even better than the last. Who could ask for more?
