Chapter 67

"I do have one already modded up," you admitted, pulling the white and yellow digivice out of your pocket and holding it up, and the colours even matched her original digivice, "..And I would feel bad if a girl as cute as you died."

A flush spread across Jeri's face at the outright compliment, and she reached up to toy with her hair, "Ah, really?" she giggled.

"Ugh, gag me." you heard Ruki mutter.

..You probably will once you get home. In a much more fun way of course. After that spanking she deserves too.

"As for getting you a few allies.." you hummed, holding up your own digivice and input a command, transferring two of your stored digi-eggs, a Nyaromon egg and a Tsunomon egg, "There, I've transferred a pair of digi-eggs from my digivice to yours, you can hatch them with one of the programs in the digivice, getting them to join you though will be up to you, I mean you could force them but that won't work out well in the long run." you explained, handing the digivice over to her.

"Wow." Jeri blinked as she took the digivice.

"..Such ease of transfer," Leomon shook his head and muttered lowly, once again only you catching it, "No wonder everyone was always so desperate to reach the human world and gain a tamer of their own. Humanity, what a formidable race."

He'll probably be disappointed when he realizes few, if any could ever measure up to you. That or relieved. You're pretty much the pinnacle of humanity. Actually, thanks to that accident with the data eater and the digimon you'd taken the data of, you were beyond a mere human.

At this point, you weren't even sure what you were. Human? Digimon? A data eater? A hybrid of all three?

At the thought of the Data Eater's, your eyes roved around the glitchy real world of the train station. This wasn't normal at all of course, but it did remind you of something, this colour scheme, the way it looked like two or more spaces were constantly overlapping, you'd seen it before.

When you first took the data of that first Data Eater and became what you are now, you processed a lot of information when you were ejected from Eden. Honestly, at the time, your mind couldn't process all of the information flooding it, and you weren't even sure how much time you were in that 'space' between the time you were ejected from Eden and the time you ended up back in your room.

The thought had been at the back of your head for a while. The Data Eater's, they weren't natural at all, they could obviously effect the real world if you were anything to go by. They weren't digimon, they weren't humans and they weren't Eden avatars.

"What are you thinking so intensely about?" Ruki asked knowingly, breaking you from your thoughts, and drawing Jeri, Taomon and Leomon's attention fully to you again.

"...I've got a theory." you replied.

"Let's hear it then." Ruki said, arching a brow at you.

"...This isn't because the real world and the digital world are overlapping," you began, and you noted they were all listening intently now, "The Data Eater's, I'm fairly certain they caused this."

"What is a Data Eater?" Leomon asked.

"Horrid monsters, that are neither human or digimon," Taomon explained to him, "Where they appear they cause massive havoc."

"Yeah," you nodded, "But that isn't what I'm getting at, or at least that alone."

"Stop beating around the bush." Ruki sighed, rolling her eyes.

"This is kind of exciting!" Jeri giggled.

"The digital world and human world have been overlapping a lot, but never like this, the digimon wouldn't be able to get here in the first place without that happening," You explained, huffing in annoyance, "But even then, nothing like this has ever happened before, and the difference is the Data Eater's."

You looked around at them all, hard, trying to convey just how serious this could be, "What if there's a third dimension? One where the Data Eater's are from?" you asked, "And what if, it sits right in the middle between the human world and the digital world."

"I see," Taomon nodded, humming in understanding, "It would explain why they seem to be able to traverse between Eden and the Digital World so easily, and just why a space like this exists. We currently stand within the dimension of the Data Eater's, it just has doors open to both the digital and human world at the same time within here."

"..Shit," Ruki cursed, "And there goes a lot of my fun, huh? Just couldn't let me have this could you horse dick?"

"..Horse Dick?" Jeri spluttered.

And there goes the seriousness as well. You sighed.
