Here's a new chapter. A bit of research and story progression. Slightly heartwarming XD Hope you like it and like always EEEENJOY!!

"... Fascinating!..." The voice of a certain unicorn resounded in his study, as he leaned closer to the green glowing egg with an enchanted magnifying glass contraption strapped onto his forehead.

The egg was placed on a pedestal in the middle of his highly advanced scanning equipment, and all the sensors indicated to him that his conclusions were correct.

The unfortunate egg that found itself engulfed by the magical explosion, actually managed to absorb the cursed flames and mutated the formerly normal phoenix inside into a different race!

Had he not perform the purification on the area, it would have most likely created an actual Balefire Phoenix! And while it would not have been essentially bad for the phoenix itself, the cursed fire it would have been able to wield, could very well bring great destruction to its surroundings...

But because of his actions, even if not on purpose, The Phoenix inside the egg was on a straight way of becoming the first Green Phoenix with Dragon Fire capabilities in the history of Equestria!

"Is it alright?" The voice of a young dragon resounded from his side, startling Starfall from his reveries. He turned to Spike and smiled, while inside thinking of how it all came to this situation.

Had he been more cautious he'd have noticed the Egg buried under the ashes, but with the urgency not to be seen by the kids, he didn't notice the egg until it fell into the claws of the little dragon, who instantly decided to bring it with him out of the sense of responsibility...

And now the kids got attached to it, and he couldn't blame them. As soon as they returned to Ponyville, they brought the egg to Starfall so that he could check up on it and whether it was healthy...

"Yes Spike. The Egg is healthy. Although I still can't believe that you accidentally created a new species..." He muttered but Spike, as well as the three fillies, their older sisters and Twilight similarly present in the chamber, looked at Starfall in surprise and incredulity.

"New Species!? B-but how!?" Twilight asked in shock instantly closing in on the Egg to give it a proper once over.

"I'd say, It's mostly thanks to the Phoenixes' magical nature as well as the Fire the Egg found itself engulfed in being a highly magical one to begin with. They just...Mixed together to say it simply, and now, through a truly unexpected magical wonder, a Phoenix with Dragon Fire abilities have been born...or well, would be born.." Starfall explained to everyone's astonishment.

Spike sighed in relief after learning that the Phoenix was not in any danger, but he wasn't sure what to think about how it ended up.

"That's so cool! So is it going to be a green Phoenix?! Would it have scales?! Or maybe fangs!?" Asked a suddenly excited Sweetie Belle, but a bump to her side from Rarity caused her to give her older sister a wry smile. She was reminded that she was still getting a punishment for leaving on a dangerous adventure without telling anypony...

"I doubt about the Scales or fangs...But As for the Colour... Phoenixes usually take on the colouration of their eggs and while so far we know only of Red and White phoenixes, it's is fair to assume this one wouldn't be any different...So yes I'd say it's going to be green." Starfall explained to the excitement of the fillies.

"When is it going to hatch?" Asked Apple Bloom while giving the egg a once-over from l sides.

"Well..." Starfall was about to reply, but Applejack seemed to have other ideas.

"Sugarcube...Maybe we can leave this discussion fer later? I'd like ta take Bloom back home. Granny Smith was worried sick. I ain't looking forward to the scolding but I'll give her my two bits too anyway. She needs ta understand that what she did was really irresponsible." She said while giving the filly a scolding look making her look down in embarrassment.

"Ouch...I don't envy you girls..." Scootaloo said a bit sorry for the two, but just at this moment she felt a strong hoof on her shoulder and slowly turned her head to see an unamused Rainbow Dash.

"I might just be your honorary sibling, but you can be sure I'll act like a real one Scoots. I might be the "cool sister", but what you did was very irresponsible and I'll make sure you understand that Tike. Are we clear?" She asked her and Scootaloo nodded rapidly eliciting a quiet snorts from everyone...

Starfall knew that they won't be too hard on the kids, especially Rainbow, but giving them a bit of tension wouldn't hurt anypony...

"Ok Girls. Since Applejack wants to go back, let's not waste time. I'll update you on the Egg situation later. It won't hatch for another few weeks anyway, so there's no point In standing here." Starfall said Shooing the sisters away before his eyes landed on Spike.

He turned towards him, as the mares, with the exception of Twilight, left the room, and kneeled to match his level.

"I know you didn't have much choice in bringing them along Spike, but I still wanted to remind you that it's wasn't safe and you or the girls could have been hurt. If you plan on going on similar adventures in the future, you should make sure that you are strong enough to protect them. Do you understand what I'm saying?" Starfall asked while kneeling in front of the young dragon.

Spike shuddered at the thought of loosing the girls, and remembered his confrontation with Garble. Had he not thought of using his message fire, he might have actually lost them...Well He wouldn't since Starfall and the three older mares have been looking after them, but he didn't know that...

"Don't worry Dad...I...I'll get stronger and protect them! And you and Mom too!" He clenched his fists in determination satisfying Starfall and making Twilight smile, touched by his proclamation.

He brushed his head with a smile and stood up.

"I'm sure you will. Now go, let Mom and Dad have some time to talk." He said as his eyes turned towards Twilight. Spike on the other hand run out off the room probably about to start training, be it physically or magically...

"Well...how about we move into the living room? There's not much here to do for us?..."Then a smirk appeared on his face.

Or would you like to do some research?" He asked Twilight who's eyes instantly brightened As he swooped her towards the wonder inducing Egg, and causing her to giggle. They won't be coming out for hours since a brand new research material fell into their hooves.

It was going to be a fun evening...

"You can do it Fluttershy! Just flap your wings! Do you want to disappoint Starfall?" Shouted Rainbow Dash as the Pink maned Pegasus tried and failed to lift off the ground in the middle of a running track.

"I...but...I can't..." Fluttershy said sadly, making Rainbow Dash groan.

"Oh come on! Don't tell me you suddenly can't fly! You have been doing it for years!" She said in annoyance as Fluttershy blushed in embarrassment.

"It's just... all this pressure...so many Ponies..."She whispered while rainbow facehoofed.

"But there's nopony here! How do you expect to help in bringing the water to Cloudsdale when you get too nervous to fly!" Rainbow Dash complained further causing Fluttershy to lower her head.

Suddenly a voice of somepony came from behind them, startling the two Pegasi even though Rainbow tried to hide it by pretending to do some exercise.

"Oh don't be like this Rainbow. Fluttershy fears to disappoint us, that's all. Not everypony has to be as cool as you." Starfall said with a wink while helping Fluttershy stand up from the ground.

The Shy mare instantly perked up seeing Starfall, which reaction slightly surprised him.

"Starfall! C-can you help me?... Rainbow Dash wants me to help in the Water transport b-but...I..." She looked at her wings and flapped them helplessly.

Starfall sighed.

"I find the sheer idea of using a Pegasi made tornado to transport water ridiculous and an unnecessary danger, but since it works I guess I have nothing to say in the matter. As for your flight capabilities Shy..." He looked in her eyes and smiled before giving her a kiss, surprising the Shy Pegasus, but as she melted into the kiss all her worried disappeared in an instant.

She didn't realise when Starfall pulled her into the air but as her eyes opened, she realised that she was flying using her own wings, with Starfall using levitation to lift himself.

She looked behind her and down realising her situation, and felt slightly dizzy. It's not like she couldn't fly but suddenly finding herself so high was still a bit much for the delicate mare.

"Hey, hey, look at me. Focus on me." Starfall said to her warmly.

Fluttershy looked back at him and all her worries once again disappeared. It was weird how the Stallion could make her feel so relaxed just by seeing him but she very much liked the feeling.

"Here, take my hooves." He guided her as their hooves connected. It was a bit taxing to do this while maintaining his levitation, but he didn't waste time, slowly starting to accelerate backwards as Fluttershy sped up to keep up with him.

Rainbow Dash watched from the ground with her mouth wide open, realising that in a few minutes Starfall managed to make Fluttershy fly faster than she had ever seen her fly...

If only she could maintain that speed during the water transfer tomorrow...

Watching a water tornado explode skyward, bringing all the water towards the flying city, Starfall couldn't help but admire what could only be called an extremely impressive show of a group based Pegasi magic. And to think they didn't even realise it was magical baffled the unicorn. How else could they achieve such a feat?...

And seeing an excited Fluttershy flying out of the group of Pegasi circling the now empty water bank, ready to tackle him in happiness, could only bring a smile on his face as he received the Cute Pegasus with his hooves wide open...

"I did it! I really did it Starfall!" She exclaimed in an unusually loud whisper.

"Haha! You sure did Fluttershy. I knew you could do it. And you were actually one of the fastest flyers believe it or not. Only rainbow Dash seemed to surpass you. I'm really proud of you." He said, kissing the blushing mare with all the heartfelt emotions he could muster.

It wasn't easy to get Fluttershy ready for the tornado creation, but a bit of public flying and kissing around Ponyville to her initial embarrassment, were just some ideas he used to make her more confident in herself. There won't be no Iron Will turning his sweet Fluttershy into a bully. He was going to help her with her self confidence when the need arised, and since this was one such moment when she needed to get better, he was there to help her all the way.

There was also a lot of reassuring and psychology that Twilight's books taught him amongst the techniques he used, and he was happy that it was enough to make Fluttershy ready for public flying. If he was really trying to push it, he might even say he endeared her to casual flying, but that would probably need more work still.

But she did find enjoyment in flying with him as company, so that's half the success at the least.

"That...was... AWESOME!!!" Exclaimed Rainbow Dash as she approached the hugging Duo.

"You were amazing Fluttershy! I had no idea you could fly so well!" She praised her making Fluttershy blush in embarrassment but Starfall gave her an encouraging smile and it endeared Fluttershy to smile back at Rainbow.

"T-thank you. But I wouldn't have been so good without your teachings Rainbow... Starfall just helped me... with my confidence... and in applying what you taught me in practice." She explained truthfully, To which Rainbow also blushed.

"Huh. Well thanks. I guess I'm not that bad of a teacher after all... maybe I can start wearing glasses and spilling out smart words like Twilight and Starfall haha!" She joked and they giggled.

Starfall looked around at the falling leaves...Winter was so close... Yet here and now, with those two mares, he could only feel warmth in his chest...
