How do you study something that appears only on conditions which you can't afford to bring into effect?...The answer is, you don't...
That was the problem Starfall was mulling over tonight while reading through the information on Windigos.
While their existence tickled his scientific curiosity, without causing a widespread hatred amongst the population, there wasn't any other way for him to do it if he wanted to examine them...
...Or was there?...
Starfall watched the map of Equestria deep in thought, his eyes focusing on the Frozen North, having come to a surprisingly obvious conclusion...Ponies originally came from the north!...
It wasn't a definite conclusion of course. Starfall admitted that basing his hypothesis on "because it's cold" was not a perfect way to confirm it, but if you think about it, many pieces would fit in place if that really was the case...
Which... in the end wasn't the solution for his current problem.
The weather in the Frozen North, if it had ever had something to do with the Windigos, had long ago became an unstoppable power of nature in its own accord.
Even if Ponies really originated from that area, which the Crystal Empire hinted towards, the only thing he would find there would be a lot of violent weather, an aftermath of an apocalyptic event similar to the one described in the Heartswarming Tale...
Starfall remembered that story, not just from the show...His parents used to tell it to him when he was a foal...It was basically the pony version of the Christmas Carol. Though here, Scrooge was a mare called Snowfall Frost who tried to erase the Heartswarming Eve all together by performing a magic ritual...
"♪Say Goodbye to the holidays...With my magic I'll erase it♪ The greatest gift that I give today, and everypony will have to face it...♪" Starfall hummed to himself remembering the song, and the vision of the future, covered in snow and death as Windigos froze Equestria in a never ending winter...
Soon he's going to have an occasion to see whether that wild weather is the aftermath of Windigos activity or not, but before that, he's going to need to take care of the troubles at the upcoming wedding...

His eyes slowly opened as he woke up from his trance. The complete silence in his sensory deprivation chamber, stacked with the lack of gravity, smell and light, made for not just a perfect place for meditation, but also an extremely good napping spot for whenever Starfall needed to relax.
Add to it the time dilation, and you don't even have to waste time for resting!
Yes. Thought Starfall as he left the chamber with a restful smile. It was still one of his most favourite creations...
He took a walk around the Lab, looking over at all his different laboratories with a fond smile. He was really spreading himself too thin, but there was so much to do! So much to learn!
He noticed one of the crystals above one of the doors glowing in a faint red light. Somepony was inside the Bio Research Wing and doing something potentially dangerous...
Starfall passed his security card through the terminal and waited.
The safety protocols ensured that he couldn't accidentally release anything dangerous from a lab by opening the doors carelessly.
Soon the doors were opened from the inside as a slightly disheveled Whooves looked at Starfall with a suspiciously guilty but sheepish grin.
"A-Ah! Starfall! What...What can I do for you buddy?..." Said the Stallion, trying to quickly correct his distorted lab coat and ruffled hair.
Starfall looked at the Earth Pony weirdly.
"Uh...You need any help here?" Starfall asked, since the red light usually meant "dangerous experiments inside"... but for some reason his words embarrassed Whooves further.
"N-No! I...I mean, I'm fine...I can manage...on my own..." He said trailing off, confusing Starfall even further.
"Um...Doctor?..."
Suddenly a familiar soft female voice came from another part of the room surprising Starfall and making Whooves wince slightly.
They looked at each other for a few seconds before Starfall couldn't help it any longer and snickered understanding the situation.
"I see... Dangerous research?" He asked in amusement, making whooves blush...
"O-Oh Yes! Very dangerous..." He said nodding quickly to Starfall.
"And I assume miss Derpy is assisting you." He wiggled his eyebrows, eliciting a wry smile from Whooves.
"She's an...indispensable assistant Indeed..." Said the Stallion and Starfall nodded knowingly.
"I see, I see... Well, I won't bother you anymore then. Though do remember that while it is indeed the bio research lab, some biological research might be better done... elsewhere..." He pointed out, patting Whooves on the shoulder while trying to keep a serious face...
"Yes, I... We'll remember that..." Whooves agreed quickly and Starfall left, chuckling to himself on the way out.
Good thing he made everything safe from any unauthorized access. Nopony knows what could happen with Derpy and her clumsiness in the Lab otherwise...Starfall thought shuddering at the thought...

Pinkie Pie was very excited.
She was going the be a nanny! It was going to be so much fun!
When Mrs. Cake asked her if she was free to take care of her foals for the night, she immediately agreed... well... she wanted to take care of them since the morning when she heard about them looking for a nanny, but for some reason the two parents went to ask their other friends first, no idea why... Pinkie didn't mind though! Since now that everypony else proved to be too busy, she ended up getting the job anyway! Their loss!
She was going to have so much fun taking care of the two foals! It was going to be great!
Now if only she could convince Meena to join her, they could have so much fun with the two babies!

Starfall who came out of the lab, still chuckling after meeting Whooves, suddenly felt as If he has just missed a disaster somehow. But he shrugged it off and went on a walk. It was such a nice day after all...

Meena looked at Pinkie Pie, carrying two giggling foals, with a blank face.
"No." Said the Straight haired sister looking at Pinkie Pie as if she lost her mind.
"But Whyyy! We'd have so much fun!" Pinkie Pie pouted as Meena groaned and wiped her face with her hoof.
"Becaauuse... I'm still working on the order for our magic candies, and taking care of foals is not just fun and games...Really Pinkie. Sometimes I wonder how can we both have the same memories..." She said, turning back to the enchanted pot that Starfall made for them to ease up their work.
She stired the mixture a few times and looked back at the pouting party pony.
"Her eyes lingered for a moment on the two baby bundles and she hesitated...
And as Pinkie Pie blatantly moved the babies closer to Meena with a tiny smirk, her serious expression soon faltered...Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake were just too cute to ignore.
"I...ugh...fine..." Pinkameena said with an eye roll before picking up Pound Cake and smiling gently at the baby. Her strength wasn't enough to resist the two foals...
Pinkie Pie now grinned from ear to ear. They we're going to have so much fun!

"I was thinking about putting a percentage of the budget into improving the infrastructure! Princess knows how many ponies got hurt recently just by walking on dilapidated roads... I get a lot of complaints from the clinic!" Mayor Mare said while walking alongside Starfall who listened to the mare with interest.
"That's a wonderful idea my Lady. But would the City budget allow for such a change?" Asked the stallion only for the mare to wave her hoof in dismissal.
"Oh, there's no need to worry about it Dear! Ponyville has been welcoming a slight economic boost thanks to your and the two new Princesses' arrival! Please don't tell the others I said it, but you're our unofficial attraction! Not even mentioning the elements of harmony! That your little group isn't constantly accosted by nosy fans still baffles me, but they are probably too intimidated by your combined statuses." Said the mare matter of factly and Starfall had to agree. They did attract many visitors into the small town.
"Of course I wouldn't refuse more funds!" Added the Mayor quickly, eliciting a laugh from Starfall.
"I'm sure we can arrange something Mayor." He said with a smile and their talk continued in a pleasant atmosphere, while not far away in the Sugarcube Corner upper floor, a pair of pink Mares run frantically, around a pair of flying and walking through walls, one year old, foals...
''I should have refused...' Thought Meena while trying to catch flying Pound Cake. To think the Pegasus Foal was so fast already...
Pinkie Pie was having similar thoughts while running after Pumpkin Cake whose magic was way too strong for a newly born unicorn...
