Not sure if it went better or worse than the first time but at least it gave me a cool idea about magic that I didn't thought of previously so here you go... Hope you like it and like always EEENJOY!!!

A few years had passed since that faithful day when Starfall met with the little Twilight Sparkle.

A lot had happened since then...

He was now already a six year old colt and he would be attending the Canterlot school for young unicorns.

Until now he and Twilight spend most of their time learning under the watchful eye of Cadence and in case of her absence, spend time in the Magical Kindergarten. In that time they became quiet close with each other and Starfall really enjoyed the time they spend together.

Twilight was really sad when he said that he would be learning in school while she had to stay here, so her parents arranged that she would attend school together with him by joining school early. She was after all very smart so nopony saw any problem with her early attendance.

The school was very boring for Starfall if you didn't count the Magical theory lessons, but he could point out a lot of mistakes amongst the magical knowledge that they were being served thanks to his ability in seeing magic.

But what he was most interested about were actually the library and the spells that he would be able to learn with it's help. His mother refused him access to any spell knowledge in the castle library until he learned at least basic safety protocols so he had to work on his own until now...

Through this four years Starfall learned a number of useful magics by simply experimenting, but most of them consisted of manipulating the basic elements of nature.

He couldn't yet, against his best efforts, figure out the magic needed to teleport, but if you asked him to cut down a tree, he could do it using many different ways including a nifty little spell called 'Laser Beam'!

His magic also received a significant boost. He was not yet at the level of a certain monster called Twilight Sparkle, but taking into account the speed of their improvement, he should be able to catch up to her before she reaches ten years of age.

He really became fond of the little filly. She was his first real friend in this world and he was proud to say that, even with the difference in their mental age, which was becoming more and more irrelevant for him as the time passed by.

At some point, he realized that his body was actually influencing his perception of himself. He was starting to feel more like he was his physical age which at first scared him, but when he made sure that his rational thinking and personality were not being affected, he finally sighed in relief. He didn't need to suddenly do something stupid just because he was behaving more like a child. In the end, he was happy that he won't have a problem with his conscience when he finally decides to date somepony in his own age group.

His magic also improved by leaps and bounds when it came to the finer details like it's form and his control over it.

He could now easily push multiple tendrils of magic through all his limbs and partially simulate the magic of the earth ponies and pegasi. He could now touch the clouds or strengthen his body which were quiet useful in many situations.

But even though he tried very much, he was still unable to 'spread' his magical core in a similar way that all the stronger ponies had in common with each other.

He made a good step in the right direction with the wisps of magic he created, but to affect the core in its entirety was still way over his abilities.

It was a really wonderful experience living in Equestria so far, and Starfall never felt the need to look for a way back to his previous world. As far as he knew, he was already dead back there, contribution of a certain boulder, and this new life was appearing to be much more promising and enjoyable.

But deep down he knew that he needed to get stronger. With all those dangers to the world getting closer day after day, if he was to become that useless prince, then he should kill himself now and avoid the embarrassment.

The classes continued, and Starfall learned one or two new things every now and then while usually he would try and help Twilight when she had a problem with something. It seemed as if she enjoyed relaying on him and he had nothing against helping his friend so that's what he usually did to pass the time.

But one day, in the magic theory class, Starfall learned something that totally changed his understanding of the magic as he knew it...

_________

Magic was a wondrous thing.

It required a strong belief and wide imagination to achieve the desired effect. Magical Spells were actually just pointers. They were methods, which helped the unicorns to focus on the desired effect.

For example a spell of making fire. While an unicorn could simply will his magic to cause fire, the process would go much smoother when he imagines the process of creating fire itself. If he also added the magical formule of the fire making spell, then the magic would become as easy as lifting a hoof into the air... Of course that's if you're a talented unicorn...

The magic formule is a method of writing down spells by interpreting the currents of magic and forming them into a somehow understandable script.

And incidentally, it was something that a person able to see magic could do without using multiple complicated instruments.

Starfall never realized that the reason why spells were coming to him so easily was exactly this ability, and when he learned about this 'Language of magic' He instantly started to recognize certain patterns of his spells as more than just simple random wisps. They weren't random at all!

Until now he would instinctually try to imitate any spell the way he saw it when he first managed to cast it, and afterwards it would become easier and easier every time. But Now he understood the reason why it was like this and found the way in which he could improve his abilities even further!

He spend a lot of time reading through books regarding topics of Spell Creation and Magical Language, while at the same time he would fill up the blanks he found in the knowledge by observing his own magic at work.

He didn't know when he started writing his own Magic Dictionary but it quickly became apparent that it would be a long time before he finished it, even with this cheat ability.

There was a certain suspicion he had regarding his Mage Sight. At the time of it's creation, Starfall moved his entire magical core towards his yet underdeveloped eyes. If his suspicions were right, that was the reason why he can even use this 'power' in the first place. He always thought that those sparkling purple irises of his were completely natural, but after asking his mother about them, he heard a very surprising information.

"Ah yes! Now that I think about it, your eyes were not as pretty upon your birth as they are now. You really became a handsome young man." She teased him, but he was not listening anymore.

His eyes changed? Was it because of the Mage Sight? That would explain why no such ability was ever recorded. He basically overcharged his eyes with magic as a newborn foal and most likely changed something in their physiology. It was really a rather unlikely thing to happen to anyone else other than somepony with a similar situation as himself.

Starfall was almost tempted to start doing experiments on babies but he hooveslapped himself as soon as that thought passed through his head...

________

Time continued to pass and before they realized it, Starfall and Twilight were going to become 11 and 10 respectively...

A lot has happened in those few years they spend on learning in school.

His magic finally caught up with Twilight's in quantity, and he was almost certain that he knew how to release his magical core. His understanding of the magic language also improved but it was a really tiring process as the language was much more complicated than the 26 lettered English alphabet or the 31 lettered Ponish alphabet that included also five completely different types of 'neigh'...

The Magical Alphabet that Starfall was researching contained hundreds or maybe even thousands of different letters and combinations that depicted different emotions words or letters with some of them having the same meaning in one situation and different in another.

His notes already compounded a few hundreds of symbols with a quarter being the corrected symbols already discovered by the unicorns who researched magic for thousands of years.

His research also helped Starfall in improving spellcasting, as in order to observe and compare the language of spells, he first had to cast different spells in different combinations to compare the achieved observations.

That also brought with itself another improvement...He learned how to teleport!!! It was a very power consuming magic, but it was just a matter of understanding the principle and learning the Spell Module.

He didn't tell anyone other than Twilight about his achievement, and she promised not to tell the others under a pinkie promise, which was not the same one Pinkie Pie created but it was with a similar significance to the two of them. Their promise was called purple promise... obviously because of Twilight's coat colour and Starfall's eye colour, and it didn't have any special incantation. It was just enough for them that it was their secret promise.

Now why he didn't tell anyone about his teleportation? Apparently it was a registered magic, and ponies who knew how to use teleportation had to register themselves with the government so that they could receive a crash course on 'where not to teleport'... Well...Not like he would have any problems no matter where he teleported as he was allowed pretty much everywhere, but it was still not the type of spell a little colt could learn before reaching puberty... a foal doing accidental teleportation is all good and dandy but an intentional teleportation, one that you can do regularly and at will? That is something for which an eleven year old colt would be considered a prodigy and people would keep even more attention on him. Attention that he really didn't need with already being a prince on the outside and a genius in school...

__________

There was a few different things that also happened in those years, which didn't directly have anything to do with Starfall.

A few years back, Cadence was finally recognized as a proper princess of Love while Shining Armor went to study in the Canterlot Royal Guard Academy.

He only passed his last exam a few weeks ago and as it seems, instantly invited Cadence on a date upon returning.

Twilight appeared completely oblivious to what happened between her favorite adult Stallion and foalsitter, But Starfall clearly saw that the two young ponies were completely smitten with each other...

It was really a mystery to Starfall why did they only marry in the show after Twilight became an adult...

Starfall also had an interesting encounter with a certain orange pony with red and yellow mane. It was non other than Sunset Shimmer! It seems that she was still studying under Princess Celestia and she didn't go full emo yet.

Starfall tried to befriend her a few times but it turned out that she put Starfall as her personal rival even though they were not even going to the same school...

He later learned that Celestia often praised him in front of her as a genius and a perfect student, and she joked that if he decides to join her school, Sunset would have a strong competition.

____________

It was already the beginning of summer and the Summer Sun Celebration was only a few days away. This Year, the festival was taking place in Canterlot and Starfall was getting restless. That was the festival which pushed Twilight into applying to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns and the time of the Sonic Rainboom was quickly approaching...
