Multiple unidentified hostile figures had been detected close to the borders and the City went into lockdown. We were hoping you'd know a way to at least identify if not fight off the offenders. Canterlot might have it's defences and army, but if it comes to magic and knowledge I'm unashamed to say that we aren't a match for you and you wouldn't lack in comparison to old Starswirl." Celestia said reminiscing her old teacher and the greatest magic researcher in Equestrian history.

Starfall felt quite moved by the praise as his cheeks reddened. It took a lot of time and hard work for him to reach this level, So for Celestia to compare him with Starswirl and even alluding to having surpassed him was quite a big deal in his books.

"...That's not a lot really..." Said Starfall after the duo sat by the coffee table and Tia explained the situation.

"Yeah...I know...Do you have any ideas though? " She asked hopefully, and Starfall noticed something interesting about her. Having experienced the physical change her Alicorn magic induced in her, Celestia became more younger looking to match her lover, ergo him. But that was the more obvious change. What caught his attention was her slightly more youthful outlook on life and overall behaviour. She might still act like Celestia of old, but he could see some signs that suggested she felt less burdened with the long life she had lived. Whatever the case was, he felt happy for Tia, because all he wanted, was for his girls to be happy...

Starfall closed his eyes in thought and hmmed. While he already knew the identity of the attackers, he still preferred to keep his meta knowledge a secret so he thought of other possibilities that could be behind the mysterious figures.

"Well, from what you have told me it could be a number of things...While the fact our mysterious beings are pony shaped does narrow the possibilities, it still leaves quite a number of possible culprits." Starfall said and Celestia nodded.

"Do you have any guesses?" She asked and Starfall nodded.

"Well... assuming our targets aren't some kind of black clothed spies from a hostile nation or some group of terrorists, we could assume the black coat is their natural colouration. Add to it the smaller stature, and I'd say there are only really two possible groups of creatures that would match the description, one of them mutch less likely seeing as they had been sealed in a magical prison for over a thousand years, so that leaves..." He got silent for a moment building up the tension as Celestia looked at Starfall in anticipation.

"Well?..." She asked and Starfall relented.

"If I had to guess, I'd say we're currently surrounded by an army of Changelings..." Starfall revealed grimly causing Celestia's eyes to widen.

It was quite funny to see Princess Celestia going in a circle panicking about the current threat. It was clear she wasn't the calm leader everypony thought her to be, at least not behind the closed doors. It was obvious she had trained in acting as a leader but inside she was still just a mare doing her best for everypony. He felt quite flattered that she trusted him enough to show him that rare side of her.

But there was no time to appreciate the sight, so Starfall approached the panicking Tia, and hugged her to ease the growing tension. It was clear she was worried so it was only natural for him to do his best in calming her down.

Tia flinched upon finding herself in his embrace, but when she realised what was going on, her emotions finally calmed down slightly. That's right. Starfall was here and she didn't need to worry.

Starfall also noticed the unusual behaviour of Celestia, but he quickly understood after remembering what the old records said about the creatures. Tia must have been quite affected by them when their attacks were still a relatively common occurrence.

"W-we need to do something Starfall...We can't let them...we can't let them return...I...I..." Starfall was surprised how intensely Tia reacted, there must have been some story behind it, but for now he needed to reassure her that everything was going to be alright. He decided to expose some things he'd rather have stayed hidden.

"It's alright Tia. Look at me. You don't have to worry. If we're facing Changelings then there is really no need to panic. I didn't want to tell anypony about it but...I actually met a changeling recently." Starfall said, causing Tia to perk up in worry.

We had a long extensive chat, with the Changeling being very much unable to do anything, if you catch my drift." He said making Celestia relax as a hint of curiosity appeared in her expression.

"What did you learn then?" She asked, and Starfall smiled.

"Well, for starters, the changeling I caught was a loner that abandoned the hive. Apparently They are led by a Changeling Queen named Chrysalis, and live in a far off land called the Changeling Kingdom, that isn't really much larger than Ponyville only consisting of a large hive mountain surrounded by a desolated plane. I also learned a lot about the Changeling physiology after getting permission from the Changeling to study him." Starfall explained confusing Celestia.

"You asked...permission?" She asked and Starfall smiled wryly.

"Well. After interrogating him, I found out he wasn't really a bad guy. He never kidnapped anypony and only lived of the Ponyville high accumulation of "Love" and occasional small feeding on the passer-by which never went above any noticeable level for the ponies involved. And I assure you he was speaking the truth as I made sure of it with magic. Kevin disliked the way Chrysalis led the hive, and simply wanted to live his life in peace. We actually started getting along pretty well afterwards." Starfall shrugged while Celestia tried to process the newest information.

"Starfall...Are you sure that...He isn't just manipulating you?" She asked worried and Starfall sighed.

"Tia...I can see this topic really impacted you. But I can assure you, there's no way a weak drone Changeling like kevin could even scratch my mental shields. There's many dangers in Equestria Tia. Mind control being just one of them and I can assure you, I took steps to protect myself from most of them. So when I say that a Changeling can change, I meant it. No pun intended." He winked, and Celestia visibly deflated i relief. He doubted she'd trust a changeling any time soon, but he knew she trusted him, so if he said it was alright then she would believe it.

"So...Did this "Kevin" taught you anything else?..." She asked after a while and Starfall laughed awkwardly, looking away in embarrassment.

"Aren't you going to propose to her first?" Celestia asked and Starfall laughed awkwardly.

"But...?" She asked a bit worried and Starfall smiled.

"Well speaking of Marriage..." Celestia said giggling at Starfall's reaction, not offended by anything that was said. "You'll be surprised when you speak with Armour I assure you. Especially with what's happening in two weeks."She giggled not elaborating, and had Starfall not known the original future of the Show, he wouldn't have had any idea what she was talking about.

But as it stood he just gave her a confused look and internally sighed. So the Canterlot wedding was two weeks away? Good. Chrysalis won't know what hit her...Maybe he could kidnap her?...That would certainly stop her plan from coming into fruition...But what then? Dump her inside the Lab beside Discord? Actually...That doesn't sound bad. Though being a psychiatrist for the notorious Equestrian villains wasn't his favourite idea of spending his Sunday afternoons...
