Mistakes Were Made

'Where?' Yuuya was shocked to see that his science textbook was missing from his bag.

'I did keep it in my bag,' Yuuya sighed as even after searching his bag a few times, he couldn't find the book but he did find a note.

'Have fun sharing a textbook with your deskmate~ - Your lovely Apophis~'

'I felt something was off in the morning,' Yuuya sighed even more heavily.

"Tenjou you didn't bring your textbook?" Sawada asked as he was the only one without a textbook.

"I didn't," Yuuya could only say that currently, he knew very well why Apophis did that while being certain that her plan would work.

"Sensei, would it be ok if I share my textbook?" Yukine asked.

"I was just about to ask you that," Sawada gave her approval as Yukine moved her desk closer to Yuuya joining them before placing the textbook in between.

'Why is my seat in front of him and not beside him?' Marin was rolling around the ground in frustration in her mind as all she could do in reality was pout.

Before she was very happy since he was sitting in front of Yuuya but not now since….

'How can I miss such an opportunity? I failed you all, please forgive me~~,' Marin would only wallow in tears currently since it wasn't every day such an event happened with Yuuya.

"I didn't take Yuuya to be the type to forget things," Yukine seemed a bit shocked by the situation as well.

"It happens sometimes," Yuuya said flatly.

"Hmm, we are only humans after all, I also lose or forget things sometimes," Yukine nodded as if that was normal.

"What happened Yuuya?" Yukine asked seeing Yuuya not saying anything.

"Nothing, you are correct," Yuuya said as Yukine nodded before focusing on the lecture as Sawada started teaching.

Time went by quickly as soon as the last period of the day came to an end.

Yuuya closed the mathematics textbook and started to put a few things he would need daily into his locker.

The classroom's atmosphere was very cheerful as everyone seemed in high spirits even though the lectures have just ended.

"Hey, should we go to the commercial area?"

"Let's look at the badminton court first,"

"Eh, come on let's go and see the cafés that everyone is talking about on the forum,"

Everyone was ready to explore the campus as much as they could before the day ends.

Yuuya on the other hand had no such plans, he wanted to go home immediately.

"Yuuya come on, I know a few shops that you'll totes love," Marin wasn't going to miss this opportunity.

'No way in hell, I am going to make all of the rom-com heroines proud with this 'Afterschool date disguised as a tour' move,' Marin's eyes burned with passion so brightly that even Yuuya could see it.

Marin's plan was foolproof since she had already texted Grayfia to come along as well. But too bad…

"Yuuya-san Thank god you are still in class," Kaori walked into the classroom with a relieved look.

"Did you need me for something?" Yuuya asked not minding the stares from the students in the classroom.

"Yes, the Board Chairman would like to speak with you," Kaori said as that was the reason she came here in person.

'So her father, but shouldn't this be announced?' Yuuya saw Kaori look down at her shoes and he understood what happened.

"Alright, should I head there now?" Yuuya asked as he shoved the thought away, he had a nice opportunity in front of him.

"Yes," Kaori nodded with a little blush.

"Marin you can go ahead as it looks like it will take a while," Yuuya left the classroom after saying that to Marin who seemed to have lost all of her life.

"Marin is everything ok?" Kaori looked a bit worried.

'Why? I thought it was my lucky day today, why was there such a roadblock all of a sudden, Ugh, all of those sweet moments I planned beforehand, Did I get too complacent because everything was working out properly?' Marin's mind was going through turmoil as all of her various plans were destroyed.

"...It's nothing," But only these words came out of her mouth. Even if she said that her friends around her could see something was off since her eyes looked devoid of any life.

Anyway, Yuuya on the other hand was going up to the fifth floor where the chairman's office is.

'Now I can go back home early,' Yuuya seemed a bit pleased with this.

With such thoughts, he came in front of the chairman's office. Kaori seemed to have some things to do since she didn't follow him here and he wasn't that bothered by it since he knew where the office was.

There was a map on each floor that showed what that floor had, the first floor had the cafeteria, Teacher's office.

The second floor had all of the classes for the First years, the third floor had the Second year's classes along with the infirmary, the fourth floor had the classes for the Third years and the fifth floor had the chairman's office and the student council's office.

Knock* Knock*

Yuuya knocked on the door of the chairman's office and immediately got a response.

"Come in," Yuuya opened the door and went in to see the person who was running this school, Both literally and figuratively.

"Nice to meet you Tenjou Yuuya-kun, my name is Houjou Tsukasa," The man in his forties introduced himself, his voice was neither haughty, nor weak a perfect balance, and his eyes had a calm look but he had a sharp appearance that could be felt from his body language even when he had a small smile on his face.

'So he is Kaori's father,' Yuuya looked at Tsukasa who was funding Ousei academy on his own.

Yes, the entire Ousei academy belonged to the Houjou Conglomerate, And Tsukasa was the head of this Conglomerate.

"Nice to meet you, sir," Yuuya still answered in his normal tone.

"I see, you're just like how Francesca described you," Tsukasa laughed a little seeing Yuuya's straight face, Yuuya didn't even budge a little even when meeting someone of his standing. Normally people would be scrambling or nervous since his family was well known in Japan.

"…" Yuuya just stayed silent at that since there was no point in speaking of that.

"First of all, Thank you very much for helping my daughter," Tsukasa sighed as he bowed his head, he was really thankful to Yuuya for what he had done.

He really regrets his choice of listening to Kaori's request of not wanting any guards since they got in the way of her daily life and she also wanted to try and be independent.

'Even if the security were on the move, if something happened it would've been really bad for Kaori,' Tsukasa had made a team to keep an eye on Kaori from afar through remote measures, They had been in action for over a month and nothing happened during that time, but this incident took place very quickly.

Francesca and the others had already taken action at that time and were on their way to the scene in order to prevent anything from happening. But thankfully Yuuya solved it before it became bigger. Such an incident can scar a child very badly and that is what Tsukasa didn't want to happen.

"I've said it before, it wasn't a big deal," Yuuya said flatly, he happened to be passing by when it happened and Marin was the one who jumped faster than him.

"Even then Thank you very much," Tsukasa smiled as he stood up straight again.

"Ok, Let's take a seat, we should get on the main topic now," Tsukasa said as he pointed at the sofa.

Yuuya sat on the sofa without saying anything, he didn't know what Tsukasa wanted to talk about but if it was something like a request to be his daughter's bodyguard or something, Yuuya was ready to decline it.

'I won't care if he wants to expel me for this, I rather welcome it,' Yuuya thought as Tsukasa sat down before he asked his question.

Yuuya was just thinking about something he hoped would happen since if Tsukasa had such plans he would've kept Yuuya and Kaori in the same class.

"How was your first day at school?" Tsukasa asked with a smile.

"...It was ok," Yuuya answered, he wasn't sure why Tsukasa would ask this.

"I am only asking this because I heard you refused to join the school initially," Tsukasa laughed a little since Yuuya might be the only one in Japan to reject an invitation to Ousei academy.

"That I did, this was a school for geniuses and my grades were below average, someone like me would stick out like a sore thumb in such a place," Tsukasa nodded since Yuuya's points were valid.

"You can still improve since you are still young, and you've already found something you like doing," Tsukasa was aware of what Yuuya has been up to and the things he has been through.

'I would like to stay at home the most,' Yuuya knew that won't be possible because of a certain someone. To be honest it would be possible he just didn't want to give in.
