1 Ascend of Evil Genius

On the sunny day at Ashford Academy, the sounds of chirping birds and the laughter of youth resounded around Lelouch vi Britannia as he minded his own business rather than joining their charade.

He felt unfit with the atmosphere of hypocrisy among the youth, which resounded through his ears over and over again.

Meanwhile, while they were happy with what they had, unbeknownst to them, everything was built through the suffering of others as Britannia soldiers started their massacre against the Shinjuku population.

And unbeknownst to them as well, everything just needed one bad day to change the fate of a single man and alter the course of history that was supposed to happen.

Before his ascension to become the dictator of life, Lelouch was just an ordinary student, yet his identity was far from ordinary; he was an exiled and disgraced prince of Britannia who hated everything about his life and Britannia.

Lelouch, still unaware of what would happen in the future, calmly walked into the Student Council Union. Instead of meeting his best friend, Rival, he encountered Milly Ashford, who was seated at the council desk, looking at him playfully, knowing that he wanted to use his best friend as an excuse for skipping class.

"Are you disappointed that it's not Rival that you've met, Lelouch?" Milly asked.

"Why should I be, Milly? You've come at the right time," Lelouch responded with unexpected nonchalance.

"If Rival could grant me the right to skip class, why not you?"

"Of course, it's not for free. I owe you a favor this time."

Milly was pretty much saddened that Lelouch didn't ask for help but instead asked for a favor.

This was not what she had pictured in her mind; she had hoped that Lelouch would ask for help instead of treating it as a transaction.

However, she understood that despite their friendship, there was a wall separating them from being close. Nonetheless, she agreed to Lelouch's requirement; there was nothing she wouldn't do for him.

It wasn't a secret that she had feelings for Lelouch, except for odd reasons, it seemed Lelouch didn't notice her feelings for him.

From Milly's perspective, it may have seemed as though he didn't notice, but in truth, he was fully aware. However, he couldn't ignore the looming presence of the Ashford family, who harbored ambitions to exploit him and Nunnally to regain favor with the royal family. Despite being a disgraced prince, he still held the title of royalty, a fact that the Ashford family held onto with hopeful anticipation of his return.

The Ashford family, once loyal supporters of his mother, belonged to the ranks of former retinue and nobility. However, with his mother's downfall, they too suffered a loss in status, relegated to the ranks of fallen nobles. Their path to redemption seemed to lie in reinstating him to a position of power within Britannia or arranging a noble marriage for Milly.

Both options, in his eyes, were motivated by self-interest, which naturally soured his disposition towards them. Nevertheless, he harbored no deep-seated animosity or resentment, acknowledging the care they had provided for Nunnally and himself, despite the underlying motivations.

"Before you leave, be careful about Shinjuku, Lelouch. There are rumors of terrorists out there," Milly warned, not wanting Lelouch to become involved with them.

"I will. Thanks for the warning, though," Lelouch nodded, heeding her advice, as he had no interest in getting involved with terrorists, especially watching Britannia's charade against them.

With that, he left on his bike, riding toward the Casino.

However, before he arrived, in the middle of the street, he collided with a truck that was hastily fleeing the scene.

Frowning at the sudden crash, Lelouch, despite his emotional detachment, checked it out and discovered that they had started the engine without waiting for him to react.

Coincidentally, the truck he had ridden seemed to have encountered a chase from Britannia's forces, as they ruthlessly shot at them.

Suspecting that the truck may have been carrying terrorists, given the chase by Britannia, Lelouch noted the encounter's brutality toward the civilian population of Eleven (formerly known as Japan).

In a daze, he saw that the truck was already empty as he got out of the car, and to his surprise, he found his best friend, Suzaku, who had turned into a Britannia soldier, suspecting him to be a terrorist.

After resolving their misunderstanding, they encountered a green-haired girl and some murderous guests from Britannia.

Although they saw Lelouch as being from Britannia's side, that didn't stop them from wanting to shoot him, but they were halted by Suzaku through negotiation.

However, Suzaku's negotiation ultimately failed, as he was shot from behind.

Grinning wickedly at Lelouch and the fallen green-haired girl, the assailants ordered to capture of both.

"Kill the man and grab the woman."

Before their shots could aim at Lelouch, the green-haired woman stood before him and defended him from the bullets as she fell before his eyes.

Caught off guard by the green-haired woman, Lelouch's eyes grew cold as she grabbed his hand and forced him to sign a contract with her.

After being coerced into the contract, Lelouch's eyes calmed as his Geass grinned red.

Turning his gaze toward the soldiers who aimed their guns at him with murderous intent, he asserted his dominance with his geass.

"I, Lelouch vi Britannia, hereby give an order: You will obey me. I am your God, and your loyalty lies with me."

"Yes, your majesty!" they knelt before him.

As much as he desired their demise, they were quite useful for his grand plan to destroy Britannia.

He had a crazy plan, a very crazy one that would not only subvert Area Eleven to his command but also make a grand entrance for himself and announce his grand comeback.

For this, he needed them alive, only to crush them once their value was gone.

With the fallen woman before his eyes, it was a lie to say that he didn't hate them; hence, once their last value was gone, he would kill them.

Seeing the Knightmare piloted by the purple-haired woman approaching him vigilantly, he realized there were additional tools for his grand plan.

Now, all that was left was Clovis's death and his rise to power.

The die had been cast; there was no turning back.
