32 Because you're unconscious

After the light disappeared , Alter found himself inside a different room, it was made by refined stone, it looked like the one he was in except that it 10 times bigger

He strolled around the room , in hope to find what's special about it, after a while, he found a word engraved in the ground, it said 'Wait', Alter went to a corner and sat , then he closed his eyes

Alter didn't plan to waste his time , he tried to use a technique that he learnt while advancing

It called 'mental guard'

Basically, It's a bunch of mental power in form of threads , since the threads are actually conected to the user, it will notify him when it came in contact with something, on top of that, it undetectable, no matter how strong one is , they can't detect it unless they have some special class that can control ot use mental power,

After a while, a light appeared in the middle of the room, it means that someone else arrived

Alter raised got up and prepared to cast crimson claws in case the arriving person have any ill intentions,

After a the light disappeared , there was a man with cloak, the cloak had a skeleton on it

'Is he some sort of guardian?' Alter thought to himself

Thr man looked towards Alter, then he said

'"Kid, follow me"

"Why would i" Alter coldly replied

"Hehe, do you want to know?" The man sneered and said

"If i didn't want to know i wouldn't say it" Alter said

Actually, Alter couldn't care less about the man, the threads that he placed in the room disappeared, so he used his mental power to scan the entire room, the words that were engraved in the ground disappeared, and it was replaced by something else he couldn't identify, so Alter decided to use his mental power to cover the entire room so that he can know the search, of course, doing so is imposible, the reasons are :

it will cost lots of mental power , even if he disregarded the cost , it's useless, since entirely analysing something needs a lot of mental power, and if the mental power is used is insufficient, it will only give a vague analysis,

Alter mind can't handle a lot of information at the same time

Thus , Alter decided to slowly scan the room while buying as much time as possible

"You arrogant kid!" The man shouted

"I don't see how i am arrogant, i am only stating the obvious"

"You kid-"

"I have a name"

"It doesn't matter! because-"

"Because you can't speak like a human, you're lucky that i lately learnt ducks language- "

What Alter said wasn't entirely fake, thanks to a book and the 'memorize' function, he can understand what a duck wants to say from it actions

The man didn't let Alter ro finish, he drew a pair lf daggers from his cloak and dashed forward

Alter noticed the man action, but he ignored him

Alter smiled and continued

"And because you're unconscious"

Just as Alter finished , the man suddenly fell to the ground

What happened right now wasn't Alter fault, it was a trap in the room , if you move , your mental power will decrease, even a minor action like breathing will decrease it- that how Alter noticed it

And the man, who have a class that doesn't specialise in mental power , is like a child trying to win a marathon

Alter moved closer to the man in the ground, he touched his hand

Suddenly, Alter disappeared and a man that looks exactly like the man in the ground appeared
