57 Thunder

Concentrating and wrapping the runic chain around my soul shell substitute. As of now this shell can now hold a soul safely without having It dissipate as long as the shell exists.

I take my free left hand and pop the soul container open. I then filter out the soul shards into my new seat for the soul.

The shards enter and begin to rearrange themselves naturally. I can tell that there are a few missing shards. These little shard look like ghostly crystals. When I concentrate on them I can hear booming thunder.

I use my mana to emulate any missing functions of the thunder beasts soul.

Apparently this caused the four forgemasters to gasp in surprise.

"Did you teach him that Nordri?"

"I actually never shared any details of my inheritance. I only taught him how to insert and remove a soul essence substitute like shards or a whole essence. Never how to actively tether together soul shards to make a facsimile. He must have learned it on his own."

Of course I did. Do you think I would risk my little brother's soul without learning all I could about it. I experimented on so many souls I lost counting. Rat souls mostly. They are simpler.

I was so worried on hurting my brothers soul, I tried learning if there was a way to heal a soul. May the hundreds of rats I sacrificed Rest In Peace.

Souls have the attributes of the bodies they are from in it. Some shards represent its attributes, others may represent a certain abilities, thoughts, and memories but there's one thing I found. An incomplete soul cannot operate its Will. The shards are just separate things. They need to be tied together in order to want something.

I saw that these shards were a great source of power but I wanted my weapon to be more than the sun of its parts, so I tied them together with shards made from mana imbued with my own Will. Their instructions are to only help me in any possible way.

The completed soul forms and hums with a pulse of mana as if announcing its recognition of me.

I then smile and hold up the heart with my free hand.

The rage rune is attached to the heart using mana to wrap another runic chain around it. This is followed by either linking the tranquility rune to the heart or the rage rune to the soul depending on which one you want to be the dominant one.

So like that process, I concentrate and a collection of blue mana begin to form like a ring around the heart.

The ring slowly forms into a chain. And at its end I concentrate to form the þruma rune.

As the rune completed and the chain completed, I can feel the heart be constricted. It is now time to link them.

I then force the runes together. The þruma and Setja rune begin to connect. The chains also begin to overlap.

The soul also begins to fuse into the heart. The soul falls into the center and the chains on the both objects seep into the heart. You can't tell from the outside, but the inner working of the crystal heart have become a menagerie of chains and green and white mana structures everywhere.

In front of the soul sits the combination rune Setjaþruma.

With this the process is complete.

Just in time I suppose as the mold looks like it's about to break open.

Nordri appeared next to me with a great talk hammer glowing in a frosty mist. His beard was now frozen and his skin looks to be frozen.

"Loki, I will give you about one opportunity to complete the spirit refining before the lightning comes and I'll be forced to merge the Heart into the hammer. You must do it with one strike."

I nodded strictly and prepared my hammer.

"When it comes out Im going to toss you at it. Slam your hammer into it with all your mana and will."

I listened and filled my hammer of Will. Nordri then picked me up from the back of my tunic like a quarter back about to throw a football.

I didn't really notice it though as I'm focused on my hammer and the sealed chest. At this point I'm pretty much running on instinct and letting my soul chain take over.

I have to fill whatever comes out of the box with all my mana and not destroy it with my mana. My mana has to seep into the weapon evenly.

It's usually easier to do this to an ingot but I never expected this situation to happen speeding up my forging.

I can hear the rumble of thunder already. The mold looks about to burst with ice.

"Ready to outrun lightning?" Nordri said smiling while looking at me.

"I don't have a choice. Let's do it"

The reason my spirit refining is so important is because it compliments the super conductor. It's called absorb. Specifically, it can easily absorb low temperatures, lighting, and emotions as well. Apparently human emotions fuel the enchantment allowing it to get stronger.

I consider it to be paramount since the alloy is a natural superconductor with a weight enchantment. Im planning for the absorbing trait will fuel it.

Suddenly a crack sounded out of the mold.

Nordri cocked back and said, "go Loki!"

He chucked me forward and ran right behind me. I saw a two and a half foot hammer break out with ice shards bursting everywhere.

As the hammer blasts out, I see I will come in contact with it.

I focus my intent, gripping my hammer tightly, clench my butt cheeks, and scream from the depths of my heart.

[Don't say it]

"PLUSS ULTRAAA"

[you really had to?]

I slam my hammer, into my proto-hammer imbuing all my Will into it. The mana spread quickly. In fact the axe hammer accepted my mana readily like a starved child.

At that moment I felt drained. It instantly swallowed all my mana like a black hole. This was surprising to me.

Audri then appeared in front of me to catch me.

Also yes I had to say it. MHA has some inspirational moments.

[Nerd, also look at the axe hammer]

Turning over to look, I saw the clouds charging and Nordri in front of the axe hammer with his cold hammer in hand.

The heart was already floating up in front of him like a baseball in front of a batter.

He then swung his ghostly hammer in the direction of both the heart and axe hammer.

At the same time the lighting clouds in the sky shot out a lightning bolt. The wind was raging and the whole city was confused.

Lighting is such a show off of an element always making a big show. If this was underground no one would be surprised since we can't see it.

Lighting travels at the speed of light but luckily Ventri was there as he slowed it down slightly by what looks like waving his hammer up for a moment. Slow lighting was an interesting thing to see.

Nordi had completed the merging by literally slamming the heart in. It seeped into the weapon like the soul did to the heart. This is a technique using bodily refinement. It allows you to place an object in a self created cavity in the object. I would first make the hole, insert the heart then close the entrance.

With Nordri's skill level, it was seamless and in one strike.

As his hammer removed itself from the axe hammer it began to tremble as if combating the heart.

That's when the lighting struck throwing Nordri back for few feet.

The thunder echoed and the hammer axe changed shape.

Originally it was simple. It had a streamlined shape with a box like hammer and a half moon axe side connected to a really think 1 foot pole since I hadn't forged that part yet.

Now as the lightning adjusted it, I can see the hammer bit adding curved edges and the axe lost its crescent hollow shape into a more filled out serrated shape. The handle drew thinner into about three feet.

In addition because of the displaced matter from Nordri's operation now appeared on top like a small spear tip.

The center griping area had now twisted to reveal grooves.

I can see rippling energy in the groves until the energy died down and the weapon slammed into the ground.

Clap clap clap

All four brothers were clapping including Nordri who looked a bit disheveled.

"That was quite the show you put on kid", Sudri said.

"That weapon likely has been perfectly fitted for him. It has incredible materials. In fact his forging, although incredible for his age, Is no where near where this kind of weapon can be formed. His talent was how he conducted all these high grade materials together. Even I'm jealous of how many super high grade materials he used," Audri said.

"The weapon isn't giving off a formidable aura though. It seems to be a sleeping dragon... Or maybe a baby dragon that hasn't come into its own yet," Ventri commented.

Nordri continued, "I would have allowed him to do the bodily modification, but due to time constraints he couldn't. In fact, based on his talent in soul blessing, his bodily modification shouldn't be too bad."

Nordri pointed to the semi completed weapon, "Go ahead and inspect your masterpiece I'm sure you'll be satisfied even though you haven't installed the gems or the leather grip."
