24 The First Wedding Day

It's the morning of our wedding, I can't help but be excited. I slept only for a few hours.

Carl, woke me up with a breakfast in bed, some flowers and a note. He left even before I opened my eyes.

He was so sweet to have written me this,

My Dearest Jill,

Today I pledge my love to you,

be with you, and hold you

Share with me this special day

You are my love, my friend, my lifeline

Wake up to a happy day from now

onwards

I love You

Happy Wedding Day ❤ Sweetness

Lovingly Yours,

Carl

Oh he is such a sweet sweet Man, he became responsible, caring, and gentle. I smile when I remember the first time we met, at the hallways, of our school. He asked for my number like I have to. He commands attention, he is so confident, that you will also be able to stand tall just being near him. He always puts everybody he cared about first. Even in the brink of death, he always had us on his back. After his mother died, he became stronger, I worry sometimes, he doesn't show all of his feelings.

I ate my toast, hard boiled egg, and orange juice, as if it's him I am eating with. He is very superstitious, but I know he wants me to build up anticipation for later. All the pretty things he prepared for us, I'm truly awaiting the start of our life together.

My mom joined me in the bedroom, we talked and talked about our home, how we planned to be here instead of in the city. We never intended to leave our families behind, but it's how it is we are growing up, and moving on. She told me to always call her still, in both happy times and sad.

"Remember I'm always here for you", she kissed me on the forehead and left me an heirloom, as my something old. It's my grandmas, butterfly hair pin.

The rest of the morning I'm in the soaking tub, I filled it with hot water. I washed my hair, and put on moisturizer to soften my skin. I brushed my hair so it would be silky and soft. Cherry came in to help me get dressed.

My white silk slip on wedding dress, fits me like a glove, not hiding, my secret. I wanted everyone to see me, with my bump not showing yet, I managed to do my hair in soft waves, I used a big curling iron. I thought I'm looking like a mermaid right now. I finished my natural make up, with a rosy pink lipstick. I'm wearing my Lucia Crystal rose thong sandals, so I can walk on the sand better.

"You are so beautiful", my entourage came in and took pictures of me.

"I love your simple chic dress", "Love love your makeup", "Awe, You're looking like an Angel"

Why thank you, Aunties, Thank You girls. I hugged them and we took group pictures together.

The boys are already in the big tent near the beach wearing Blue cotton shirts and khaki pants, Carl wanted them to wear white loafers.

Carl was preparing in Uncle Edd's room.

The room is so white, the walls are white, the chandelier is crystal bouncing lights all over the wall, his bed is the only one thing that has color, grey and black with white duvet on top.

Carl is wearing his Dad's present to him, and a white Armani cotton shirt, gray pants and brown penny loafers. He is also wearing his favorite Eye glasses with round lenses, and his Mom's last gift to him, a Chopard watch. She told him the symbol of a good Man is seen through his watch. He knows when to do things and when to unwind. Aunty Yoli, she was always thinking about Carl, he was her baby, and now he is going to be my husband.

It was 4pm, the white chairs sits 40 guests, 20 on each side, the bride side has 18 smiling people, and the groom's side, 20 people. The flower petals in the aisle is scattered with white roses and ribbons tied on chairs. A wedding gazebo filled with more white flowers is standing at the end of the aisle, as if whispering we're ready for the wedding to begin.

At 4:30 we began to gather, the guest are all seated and the minister "Uncle Edd", awaits our entrance.

The groom's men were dancing while entering, to the tune of "Marry You", by Bruno Mars. The bridesmaids are towed by their partners as they danced on the beach, something different and upbeat.

Then the Procession slowed when Carl's Father walked the Aisle. Only a ukulele played the theme song of Carl's Mom and Dad "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". Everyone was touched and teary eyed.

My Cousin played the guitar and sang while Carl was walking almost hopping "First Day of my Life", by Bright Eyes.

This is the first day of my life

Swear I was born right in the doorway

I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed

They're spreading blankets on the beach

Yours was the first face that I saw

I think I was blind before I met you

I don't know where I am, I don't know where I've been

But I know where I want to go

And so I'd thought I'd let you know

That these things take forever, I especially am slow

But I realized that need you

And I wondered if I could come home

I remember the time you drove all night

Just to meet me in the morning

And I thought it was strange, you said everything changed

You felt as if you just woke up

And you said

"This is the first day of my life

I'm glad I didn't die before I met you

But now I don't care, I could go anywhere with you

And I'd probably be happy"

So if you wanna be with me

With these things there's no telling

We just have to wait and see

But I'd rather be working for a paycheck

Than waiting to win the lottery

Besides, maybe this time is different

I mean, I really think you like me

Then the guests were standing as my Mom, marched, and my Dad, and Me.

I was walking while Calum Scott's "You are the Reason" is gently playing, like I was at sea floating.

There goes my heart beating

'Cause you are the reason

I'm losing my sleep

Please come back now

There goes my mind racing

And you are the reason

That I'm still breathing

I'm hopeless now

I'd climb every mountain

And swim every ocean

Just to be with you

And fix what I've broken

Oh, 'cause I need you to see

That you are the reason

My Dad gave me away, to the Son who will love me forever.

Uncle Edd started the ceremonial rites

"Today we are gathered here on this beautiful place,

Let us give our blessing to two hearts becoming one."

Carl Denz say your vows

Carl reading his vows:

Jill, ever since I met you my gloomy world became sunny

I was sick, and weak and you strengthen me

Now and from today

I promise to take care of you, honour you, give you what you only dreamed of

Provide for your needs, and comfort you

In sickness and in health

Never forsaking this day

I love you Sweetness

Jill Marryl, you may read your vows:

Carl

my king, you are my everlasting love

my life and source of strength

In my times of loneliness

you brightened up my days

you gave your heart along with your

family

thank you for loving me

from this day forward

I promise to be a good wife

a caring wife to you

I will respect and support you

love you until we are parted in our

earthly body

And now please put the rings on each other's left ring finger

symbolic for fidelity and loyalty to one another

Carl: to you Jill I give this ring as a symbol of my love and fidelity and honesty to you

Jill: to you Carl I give this ring as a symbol of my love, fidelity, and obedience to you

And everyone please stand up as we witness the most awaited moment

As the minister, I now pronounce you as one, Husband and Wife

"You May Now Kiss the Bride"

We kissed softly and slowly as everyone clapped, whistled and cheered.

We hugged each other, "I'm so happy Jill, Carl was crying, so I cried along with him too.

I threw my bouquet to the crowd, and one of Carl's cousin caught it.

The photos session started with us and family and friends. As the sun goes down, the party has begun.

The reception we did under a big tent in the golf course near the beach. There's big balls of blue and white flowers hanging in the ceiling. We made lemonade as drinks and there were pies, meat ball spaghettis, fried chicken, shrimp, lobsters, 3 different salads (chicken and ham, all vegetables, and fruit salad), and for dessert home made ice cream, cheesecakes (strawberry, blue berry, chocolate), and lava cake. The after dinner party is a dance party and concert, all the cousins and Uncles prepared their own pieces. Some sang acoustic, some sang mellow songs, and some Lady Gaga songs. My favorite is born this way. Everyone danced including us the newlyweds. Our first dance as husband and wife is God Gave me You by Bryan White.

The party winded down, as my parents danced.

Carl's Dad came up to me, "May I borrow your new Bride", he said to Carl.

We danced, and before the music ended, Uncle Carlo told me, "My dear the moment we first met you, the day Carl brought home a girl, we knew he loves you very much". Aunty Yoli and I welcome you to our Family. Thank you for loving my son. "Be happy, even if the road gets bumpy", you will need someone to talk to, and when it happens, you can call me. Or just visit Mama she will listen. I always do when I sleep.

Thank you Dad, you are a wonderful father to Carl, and me. I will remember your comforting words.

Carl, stood up to meet Me on the dance floor.

Sweetness, do you remember the first time we met?, I saw you in the hallway of the fine arts building, I thought who could that girl be, she looks so odd, her notebooks dangling by her arm, you wore the longest skirt. You are incredibly weird.

Oh, so I'm the weird one? when you have a peculiar badge, which you claim to be sweet & sexy.

Don't you know I help guys in our class to be celibate? School before Sex, that's what the badge really meant. My father and mother they had me at 21 years old, after school, they would sneak behind an abandoned restaurant and have the greatest sex of their life. And then 9 months later, there I was, born at home in my Grandad's farm.

The farm?, in the big house where we did something very dirty?

Yes, the big house. I can still feel you, and your hot, sweet, kiss.

Are you working me up right now?

If it's up to me, this party ended hours ago, so I could open up that dress of yours, spread your legs on the bed and consume you.

That sounds, very enticing. Mr. Carl Denz.

Yes, Mrs. Jill Denz. I love saying that. Finally, you and I, were living our dream.

Finally were one.

We heard the guest chanting and clinking their glasses to ask us to kiss for the 100th time.

We obliged more than happily.

Fireworks has been lit and the doves were freed in the air. We cut our cake, and Carl got the garter from my leg. He threw it to his groom's men, and the traditions followed.

We bowed in front of our parents, took one last pictures with the guests, and we were off to our new house by the sea, riding a vintage volkswagen. At the back it's written.

"Just Got Hitched"
