Prologue

"Freddy, I think I am in labor…" Julie was 28 weeks pregnant at this point and knew it was too soon to be in labor. She was scared and needed comfort so badly. But her husband had other thoughts. Julie married Freddie almost a year ago. She met him in the Caribbean when she fled from her home. She instantly fell in love and married him with the hope of a better life. But Freddy never mended his ways. Always the womanizer and gambler. Julie thought that having his child would change him, and he seemed to change in the beginning. But soon the streets were calling out to him, and he turned back to his womanizing ways. Their marriage can be called toxic for sure. And due to a lot of stress, Julie gave birth prematurely to a boy and a girl. Freddy was not with her in the delivery room. The man she desperately needed was not there with her.

Twins….

The doctors discovered that the boy was born blind, and the girl was very weak. Julie started to cry and prayed:" Dear god, please don't let them die?" She was so angry at Freddy for leaving her like this. She knew he wasn't faithful. She even caught him red handed with her own sister. But because she loved him so much, she forgave him. Was she crazy for doing that? She didn't know. But she needed to be strong for her babies…

Four days later, the doctor called her.

"Hello?"

"Good morning, Mrs. Singh, how are you doing today?"

"Um. I am alright…is everything alright with my kids, doctor"

"I'm sorry Mrs. Singh, your son just passed away…your daughter is still alive though…." The doctor kept on talking, but Julie couldn't hear anything anymore. She was devastated.

When Freddy came home from work, she told him the bad news.

"Well…there is nothing we can do about it. We need to accept it" And he showed no compassion whatsoever to the woman who just lost her son. He put on his suit as he usually did, and left. She tried thinking about her daughter and tried to be as positive as she could. What would she name her? She named her daughter Farina. And this is her diary…
