4 Chapter 4: Remember the past

Cherry woke up after some well deserved rest. Raphtalia was making breakfast and Naofumi was snoring a little. Cherry was looking at his face. His lashes were long and his face was peaceful for once. He was a gorgeous man. She gave Naofumi a kiss on the forehead.

"Good morning Naofumi sir. There is bacon and eggs." Melty was watching Cherry and Naofumi grow a little closer over the past week. The little travelling caravan was making tons of money because Cherry would often bake cherry pies and sell them as her way of pitching in.

One night, after seven months on the road, a memory came back to Cherry. She was near the ruins of Illfarn and when she went inside, a shadow reaver destroyed the statue of purification. She remembered that Naofumi was there with her to help her fight her enemy.

She woke up and immediately told everyone. "That's really all I remember and I was pretty young back then. I think I was nine." Even that memory told Naofumi who Cherry really was. 'How could I ever forget Diana. She was the only thing in my life that kept me sane. I've known only war and battle. That is something that won't go away.

Ever since Neverneath, I have known that I loved her. I can never sever my love for her.' He started to weep. Nothing could have kept from him crying except for Cherry. She embraced Naofumi and held him as he cried out. "You must have loved my past self and I feel like I am the only to help you with the pain."

Naofumi was only like this in front of Raphtalia during his duel over her freedom from him. The thought of being king did scare him a little because she was a queen. He would have a lot more responsibility than just being a knight.

But now he can see that he was meant to love her and he was meant to be king. "Cherry, you need to know your name. It is Diana Carolina Ordo. You are the only woman that I have ever loved and I will continue to love you. Will you, Diana Carolina Ordo, marry me?" Naofumi got down on one knee and held out an elven silver diamond ring.

At that point, Cherry remembered everything. "Naofumi, I have been waiting for so long for you to ask and you did it now. I have all of my memories back. Yes my shield hero!" The ring was a perfect fit. After all, Naofumi knew Diana well and Natsu Dragneel of all people was his closest friend from Fairy Tail.

Natsu told him what size ring she wore. "I am not dreaming right love?" "This is the real world and you are now the future king of Gondor. You better believe it and better be ready." He was ready for anything that the kingdom could throw at him now. Naofumi was now fired up more than ever because Diana was going to fight at his side like she did so many years ago.
