Whisking Away the Holy Maiden

Looking at the photo in Lancelot's hand I still couldn't believe.

Out of all the people in this world he could be best friends with it is this generation Jeanne D'Arc.

What are the chances?

But more to the point the Jeanne in the photo doesn't look like the DxD version, but rather she looks exactly like her Fate/Stay version. Which makes me wonder what her personality is going to be like.

No wait, that is not important right now. I have bigger issues at the moment.

Taking my eyes away from the photo I looked at Lancelot. "Explain everything from the beginning. And don't leave anything out." I said.

"No issue." Lancelot said.

He then told us his story.

He was born here in Wales as an orphan who grew up in a church-funded orphanage. Then when he was five years old he was taking to the Vatican for indoctrination.

*Cough Cough*

Sorry, something was caught in my throat.

Now as I was trying to say, at five years old Lancelot was taken to the Vatican to begin his exorcist training where he excelled. Which isn't a surprise considering he is a hero descendant after all.

Anyway during his time at the Vatican he befriended Jeanne, who possess the soul of the deceased holy maiden.

The two of them became close, but the elders of the church didn't like that at all. So they did their best to separate them, since they wanted Jeanne to be nothing more than their postal girl and not have a normal life in the slightest.

Lancelot's words not mine.

Lancelot did not the way Jeanne was treated one bit, so he vowed to get strong enough so she could live the life she wanted. He completed his exorcist training in record time and took his first mission at the age of eleven, a feat only five other exorcist in history have accomplished. He was on his way to the top, until a few months ago when he defied the orders of a superior.

He didn't want to kill a mother and her child. Sure they had supernatural blood, but they weren't doing anything immoral. Lancelot saw this, and so just like his namesake he betrayed the church and became a stray exorcist, returning to his home country of Wales, becoming a magical mercenary in this here countryside.

"And that's my story." Lancelot finished. "But even though I left the church I never forgot about Jeanne. I wanted to go and get her many times, but since she has the soul of a Holy Maiden powerful exorcist are watching her all the time. Even when she goes out on her own exorcist missions now, they hardly let up for even a moment. It's been so hard to communicate with her. But I learned she is coming to Wales, and I want to save her. Then you guys showed up, and its like a miracle. So I ask you, help me save her and I will do anything you ask. Please."

"Wow, she's that important to you." Chess mused. "You must really love her."

"I do." Lancelot answered. He then got a blush on his face. "But not in "that" way, as a little sister."

I put a smirk on my face. "Oh, is that so? So if Gin or I were to go after Jeanne, you would be ok with that right?"

"Sure." Lancelot said. "But let me tell you that girl is difficult. She's too energetic, loud, gives people strange nicknames without asking. She's really such a handful. That's why she'll probably never get a boyfriend."

"Ah, you really like her that much." Dominque mused.

Lancelot hung his head in defeat. "I do, I really do." He said, a dark cloud appearing over his head and me and my girls bullied him.

"So wait, are we helping him out or not?" Gin asked. "Because if we are then we need to prepare, this mission is no joke." He said seriously.

Such is the destiny of the straight-man of the group.

I nodded at Gin's words. "Yes, we're helping them out. And also don't worry Gin, I got this." I said. I then looked at Lancelot. "Lancelot, tell me all the details about Jeanne's trip." I asked him.

Also I just realized, although she looks like Jeanne from Fate/Stay, her personality sounds like the Jeanne's from DxD. I guess that means this Jeanne is a mix of the two of them.

If she is I really hope she has Blade Blacksmith.

Having both holy and demonic sword creators on the team would be incredible.

No, I will have them both on the team.

Nothing will stop me.

Nothing.

(3rd Person: POV)

Looking out the window of the car she is riding in Jeanne let out a small sigh.

'It's always like this.' Jeanne thought. Even when she is not at the Vatican, she always feels this stifling air around her.

It's been that way ever since she was five years old, and people from the church explained to her that the supernatural world was real, and that she possessed the soul of her namesake, the Maiden of New Orleans.

At first Jeanne was about this.

But as time went on she noticed that people treated her strangely. They didn't treat her like a person.

Sure they acted friendly, but that's really the only way they acted around her. She never saw any other side of people.

Which scared her.

That's why she tried to make friends with kids her own age, but that posed another problem.

Everyone her own age avoided her. When she asked them why they said, "It's because you are the Maiden Jeanne and we are not worthy to socialize with you.".

When Jeanne heard that she started to curse herself a little.

If her own soul was causing her to worshipped like this she didn't want it. All she wanted was people who treated equally.

Then as if God answered her prayers, one appeared.

His name was Lancelot.

He too was like her, born with the name of an ancient Hero, but unlike her he only inherited the name and not the soul.

Even so that didn't matter to Jeanne. He was different from everyone else since he treated her like a normal person.

She loved it.

But as time went by Jeanne noticed the elders of the church had begun trying to keep them apart.

Which caused her to started hating herself. If her only friend was being taken away because she was a Holy Maiden, then she wished she was never born with such a soul inside of her.

For it was only a curse in her eyes.

Things got worse when she heard the news Lancelot abandoned the church.

Her only friend, left the place they met. She couldn't take it.

Jeanne was suffocating, but she was pulled from under when Lancelot contacted her again. He then explained why he left the church and that he was going to get her out.

Jeanne was overjoyed at this.

She knew she had a duty as a holy maiden, but she didn't care. All she cared about was being with her friend Lancelot.

Because of this she didn't even realize she was starting to become a maiden in love.

But that's a story for a later date.

Back to the point.

Jeanne managed to tell Lancelot that she was coming to Wales to tour a collection of churches. It was difficult when she was always being watched, but she managed to do it.

So now all she could do was wait and hope.

Hope that her friend would come save her from the dull existence she calls life.

The cars came to a stop at an old church in Cardiff.

As soon as it did one of Jeanne's exorcist escorts opened the car door for her.

"Lady Jeanne, this way." He said politely.

But Jeanne knew if she didn't have the maiden's soul inside of her, then this man wouldn't give her the time of day. She has read many books, and isn't so naive like many other girls at the church.

Jeanne has even learned about....about sexual things from a book Lancelot managed to sneak her.

Just thinking about her caused her face to heat up.

But she quickly stowed that memory away and got out of the car.

She then started heading towards the church.

But as soon as she did something strange happened.

She felt a shift in the air, and then instantly found herself holding the flagpole of Orleans, a holy sacred used by the original Jeanne D'Arc during her lifetime. The church gifted it to her when she appeared, since it would only work her because the maiden's spirit was inside of her.

This flagpole is imbued with holy energy, and has the capacity to create incredibly powerful barriers, as well as strengthen the abilities of anyone Jeanne perceives as an ally, while also protecting her from mental inference. It is a versatile weapon, and one Jeanne works to master everyday.

But right now, she has no clue why the flagpole suddenly appeared in her hands.

"Could this be, an enemy attack? Jeanne mused.

"No, it is not." A voice said, from Jeanne's left.

Turning her head Jeanne saw a masked individual looking at her.

"Who are you?' She asked, pointing her flagpole at the masked person.

"I am Dio." The individual proclaimed.

"Dio, what have you done?" Jeanne questioned.

"Just got rid of the annoyances so we could talk." Dio explained. "I work with Lancelot. Or as you call him Lance." Dio said.

When Jeanne heard that her heard that her eyes widened slightly. But she still didn't let her guard down. After all, the masked person in front of her could be lying. People thought she was some naïve and sheltered little girl, but that is not the case.

"The Princess and the Dark Wizard." Dio spoke.

When Jeanne heard that, her face went beat red.

"How do you know that name?!" Jeanne yelled in utter embarrassment.

The Princess and the Dark Wizard is a book that Lancelot gifted Jeanne on her thirteen birthday. She thought it was a romance story, and it was was. Only it is also a highly sexualized book filled with BDSM. The story is about a dark wizard who takes over a kingdom, and then forces its princess into very graphic erotic deeds in order to protect her people, until eventually they fall in love for real and get married, ruling the kingdom together for decades after.

Jeanne wanted to burn the fifth.

But in reality it is her favorite book which she has read several times.

For a holy maiden she is quite the pervert.

"Lancelot told me the name of that book. I am here to take you to him." Dio explained. He then reached out his hand to Jeanne. "So then, let's go."

"Yes." Jeanne said, taking Dio's hand. Before she didn't trust him, but after he mentioned the name of her *Ahem* favorite book she believed he could be trusted. For Lancelot had promised never to tell anyone about that, unless under the most dire of circumstances. And using it as a way for her to trust someone, genius.

But she is still going to beat him black and blue when she lays eyes on him.

After taking Dio's hand they put their arms around her. They then started running away from the scene.

Then once they were far enough away time resumed.

A note was also left behind on all the priests close saying one single phrase.

Dio was here, so suck it!

(MC: POV)]

It didn't take me long to arrive at the meeting spot.

Once I did everyone came out and Jeanne completely forgot about me and ran up to Lancelot, tackling him into a hug.

"Lance, I've missed you." She cried.

"Me too Jeanne. Me too." He said.

The too then got really cozy, but blushing like tomatoes when they realized the rest of us were watching them.

They then split apart rather quickly.

While this happened I removed my mask and cloak.

"A lovely reunion." I said. "Anyway, my name is Kufa." I told Jeanne. I then explained to her about my team, and that Lancelot was willing to join if we saved her.

Me and the others also revealed we were supernatural to her.

But she didn't mind one bit.

She then asked me something.

"Can I join your team as well?" Jeanne said.

It was music to my ears.
