The two sides of this world

Right before his eyes he saw something that made him wish he'd never been reincarnated into this world. What he looked at was shocking.

While the other side he arised from just a few minutes ago was all green and seemed kinda happy, this was the exact opposite.

Enormous towers and gates looking like they'd tear apart any second, black flames all over, dead trees, animals, people and a ton of blood. Buildings already crumbled into pieces. And a major cleft was seen all over the country.

"What the hell happened here?!" Eguru was shocked. Never has he ever, not even in his past life, glanced at such a frightening sight. Without hesitation he turned back and welcomed the warm, green fields. For now, no - Eguru prayed he never has to come back here. Ever.

Instead he was pleased to look at such good and healthy land in front of him. Well, though he couldn't really see much down here besides trees and some animals. Not everything in this world is unknown to him. As he roamed the woods he saw boars, squirrels, deers and many more insects. Though they looked a bit different from the past world. 'I wonder if they evolved or if they're just mythical creatures in this world...'

One thing was certain to him after wandering for a while. He didn't know a single thing about the plants in this world. Another source of food is now gone as he didn't want to risk dying of poisonous foods.

Then, without a single warning, something suddenly approached him.

"You're not from here aren't you?" Eguru made a surprised face as he looked at a young man coming out of nowhere. "Uh, who are you?" he answered a question with another question.

"I could ask you the same. But most importantly, what's your name and where do you plan on going?" The young, unknown man asked.

Eguru took a second to observe him before he answered. The clothes that man wore definitely looked the same as those from Eguru's world. 'If this world is as advanced..?'

That man also had black, long but not too long hair and a middle part making him look quite handsome. He had sharp eyes and a nice jawline. 'Aw man. I wouldn't say I'm not as handsome as him but damn! He's without a doubt better looking than me.

Eguru could also only take a guess about that man's height and decided to guess him 6'1 feet.

"So, are you going to answer my question?" The young man asked after Eguru really took his time observing. 'He's quite patient. I like that' Eguru thought to himself and then finally began to talk.

"Oh, yea. My name's Eguru. And to be honest with you I absolutely have no clue as to where I'm going man." The other person listened and gave him a small chuckle. "Nice to meet you, Eguru. My name is Verzo."

Eguru nodded and a moment of silence was between them. Verzo then started talking again.

"You said you didn't know where you where going, eh? I suppose you're not from the ``other side`` either?" he asked Eguru with a quite serious expression and authority in his voice.

Though it was intimidating him, Eguru remained calm. "Yes. I don't know where I am, nor am I coming from the ``other side``. I guess you could say I'm a foreigner? If that makes sense."

The hot sun was now directly shining on his face and he had to close one eye as he couldn't stand it. Wind was blowing away leaves. It was cold enough to make up for the hot sun shining on Eguru.

The tension that had built up between them then was no longer existent. "Alright I believe you. But where exactly are you coming from then if I'm allowed to ask?" Verzo asked in an interested manner waiting for a response.

Eguru didn't quite know how to explain that reincarnation part to him. "I'm from the USA. A far, far country from here, I suppose. Though it is far more complicated than that."

"USA? Never heard that before", Verzo admitted. "But enough chit-chat. How about I actually show you the biggest city in this country?"

"Biggest city?" Eguru was curious. "I'm talking about Legrandeus of course! It's not only the biggest, but also the most wealthy city in Raiherd. Raiherd is the kingdom we're in by the way."

Verzo peaked Eguru's interest. What will he see once they reach Legrandeus? How advanced is it?

But the most important question Eguru wanted to have answered: 'Do they have chicken tenders?!'
