Another Chance

It was a raven. Blue black with beady eyes. Those eyes bore through my soul. Ice krept slowly through my hands ravaging my veins. It cawed like it knew what I was going through. My heart slowly picked up the pace eventually making me feel like someone was trying to punch their way out of my chest. Wait, was there something inside of me? Though I felt cold, my chest was hot.

"Aurora!" a faint voice filled my head, bouncing around like my thoughts.

Where was I? I don't want this pain anymore. I don't want to feel it. I want it to stop.

"Do you ever stop wanting? 'Want, want, want, want' That's all you ever say." A different voice picked at me. It came from the raven.

I tried to communicate with it. My head whipped around looking for some type of hint as to what was going on.

"No, child, no speaking here. You only listen. Those sensations are you dying. Death is a close friend and it wants to take you to a faraway place. Away from your friends, family and 'wants'. Do you want to live? Do you want to succumb to its embrace?" The raven spoke with such a deep voice it vibrated my chest. I thought about what it was saying. I was dying. Why? What happened?

"I'm sure you're questioning your scenario. Is your head filled with questions, child? I cannot answer them unfortunately" Then what use are you, you stupid bird?

A chuckle rattled from the raven. "You will live, but only because I want you to. Live again child and you'll hear from one of my underlings in dear time." The last word trailed off as I felt cold air being rushed through my nose and filling my lungs.

Lights came on over my head but passed by quickly over and over again.

"Her eyes! Aurora, can you hear me? Whats going to happen to her?!" A shrill voice rang out beside me and i felt a hand grasp mine pulling me away from my thoughts.

"Ma'am you have to stay here you can't go back with her" The hand grasping mine let go and i heard doors opening.

"Aurora, we are going to take good care of you." Some women said as my vision went black.
