1 Shisui Uchiha

"They will probably come after my left eye too," Shisui says rubbing his left eye. "Before that happens I want you to have it." 

"Shisui-"

"You are the only friend I can trust." Shisui smiles and plucks out his left eye. "Protect the village and the Uchiha name as well."

"But...I" Itachi was unsure of what to say, but he took the eye nonetheless.

"And that isn't the only thing that I need to give you. I am going to give you a new power too." Shisui says, showing a pained smile. "The Mangekyou  Sharingan."

Hearing this Itachi's eyes open wide. "Shisui you can't!"

"I am not going to last long anyway. Take it as a gift, my dying wish." Shisui laughs. "What's with that look of yours? Even like this, I can still see your face easily you know." He says putting his hand on Itachi's shoulder. "A worried expression doesn't look good on you. You must always remain calm my friend. That's what Itachi Uchiha is. I am positive you can do this. So don't worry, it will be fine."

Itachi closes his eyes and says with a slight bow. "I will carry on your will for the Uchiha."

"From now on, you might be forced down to walk down a long, dark path. One that's filled with pain and suffering. I have to apologize, that I can't be with you through it all." He says tightening his grip around Itachi's shoulder. "Still, I hope you don't falter from your path. And keep moving forward like a leaf ninja. I believe in you." Shisui says and Itachi grits his teeth. "This is why I am able to ask you to carry on my will." Shisui turns around and faces the cliff. "And the Mangekyou ." He sighs and looks up with his missing eyes. "Thank you for everything. I guess this is the end of the road for me. But this will pave a new way for you… And give you a new power."

Both Itachi and Shisui stood there for a while. After a while, Shisui finally spoke. "Well Itachi, now the time has come. Make a new way for yourself with your own hands. You can do it, I know you can."

Itachi looks at Shisui's back and remembers all the memories they shared. The spars they had, the promises they made, and even the oath to protect Konoha from every enemy."

"See you, friend, I leave the rest… to you." Those were Shisui's last words before Itachi pushed him off the cliff.

After a while, Itachi opened his eyes. The black eyes turned red with three tomoe and that three tomoe changed into the Mangekyou Sharingan. Itachi didn't cry after Shisui's death, but he promised himself that he shall carry on Shisui's legacy and his will.

[Unknown Location, Unknown Time]

Within the dark endless void stood a handsome young man with midnight black hair and onyx eyes. There was a confused look on his sharp yet elegant face. This man was Shisui Uchiha, possessor of the strongest Genjutsu of the Mangekyou Sharingan 'The Kotoamatsukami.' But what confused this young man was not the seemingly endless void that he was in. But the fact that he was alive. Yes, he was supposed to be dead. Dead after he told Itachi to push him off the cliff, dead after Danzo betrayed and took his right eye and died after he gave his remaining eye to his friend, Itachi. Yet here he was alive and standing over what seemed to be the abyss.  

"Is this the afterlife?" He spoke out without even thinking.

"Not exactly, young Uchiha." Came an aged but elegant voice.

Shisui quickly turned around and stood in a battle-ready pose.

"Easy there, young man. I did not bring you here to cause any harm." Said the unknown person.

"Who are you? And why don't you show yourself?" Spoke Shisui cautiously.

"Hmm…I can indeed show myself but if I do your soul will burn and fade away."

"What do you mean? Who are you and what is this Genjutsu?" Shisui said not moving an inch from his position.

"This is not a Genjutsu and neither is this the afterlife. This is the eternal void where no living being can reside, not even the gods." 

"That doesn't answer my question," Shisui said in a calm yet serious voice.

"I am a primordial being. A being that has existed even before the concept of time and space was there. I don't have a physical appearance and even if I do take one, no mortal will be able to look at me. The moment they do, their existence will be erased."

Thinking about what the man just said, Shisui decided to ask. "Why did you bring me here? I was supposed to be dead."

"You were brought here because of your eyes."

"My eyes?" Shisui said taking his right hand towards his eyes. Once he did, his eyes widened in realization. Not only was he still breathing but his eyes were with him as well. Now he was genuinely confused. 'Didn't Danzo took my right eye and wasn't my left eye supposed to be with Itachi?'

"Yes, your eyes were indeed taken from you. But I have brought you here in your prime condition."

"Why?" Shisui asked. He was confused about why a primordial brought him to the void.

"Why indeed. To answer your question, I have seen a lot of beings, gods, demons, angels, humans, and whatever being you can think of. I have seen them wasting their nigh-limitless potential and it frustrates me. You Shisui Uchiha are one of them." The Primordial said with a sad sigh.

Shisui narrowed his eyebrows at that. "What do you mean by not using my full potential? I tried everything I could but the person who was supposed to be the right-hand of the Hokage betrayed me. I was betrayed and he took my eye. What was I supposed to do? An Uchiha's strongest ability is his Dojutsu and I lost it. I was weakened and even if I did survive I would have never been able to be like my past self."

"*sigh* An Uchiha's strongest ability is indeed the Sharingan and you lost it. But tell me one thing little Uchiha, how did you lose your eye? You possessed the strongest Mangekyou ability. The strongest Genjutsu that ever existed and yet you were defeated by someone with stolen powers and abilities. His powers were far weaker than yours."

Shisui went wide-eyed at that. It was true that Danzo had the ROOT but even they were no match against his Kotoamatsukami. But he still failed and his right eye was stolen. Why? Because he never thought that Danzo will betray him, he never thought that Danzo will be ready to sacrifice his own ROOT children to obtain the Mangekyou. Yes, it was partially his fault. He never thought that Danzo would be so ruthless and this mistake proved fatal. He lost his eye. He wasn't able to stabilize his chakra to cast another Kotoamatsukami and Danzo took this opportunity to pluck his eye out. 

"Indeed, I never used my abilities to their full capacity." He said and it was true. Shisui was scared of using his ability. His ability was way too powerful and even though it was believed to be a single target Genjutsu, it could be used for multiple targets. But he never tried testing his ability on multiple targets, as he was afraid that if one target makes a mistake every other person under his control might be affected. So he never tried it on multiple targets. If he did, he could have defeated Danzo. 

"You realize your mistake, huh? But it's too late now. If you used your ability to its maximum capacity, you could have defeated Danzo. And even if there was the risk of going blind, you could have used Kotoamatsukami to find someone who matched your optical wavelength. And if you did find the person, Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan would have been within your grasp."

Shisui kept his head down as what the primordial said was true. "So what now? Are you going to punish me? Send me to hell?" The moment Shisui asked this he felt a shiver run down his spine. 

The primordial laughed and the laugh scared Shisui. It sounded more like a demon's laughter rather than a God's.

"In any other case, I wouldn't have even bothered to bring your soul into this realm. But there is something I want you to do. Think of it as a second chance. A chance to use your full potential. Shisui narrowed his eyebrows at that. "So what do you think about reincarnation?" The primordial asked him.

Shisui was taken aback by the primordial's question. 'A second chance? Reincarnation? What does he mean by that? He wants to give me a second chance and allow me to reincarnate? But what and what will he gain from it?" Countless questions were going through Shisui's head.

"What will you gain by helping me? There are billions of beings like me, so why me? There is no way you chose me without a reason? And don't reply with 'because of your eyes'. I refuse to believe that I am the only Uchiha with a strong Mangekyou Ability." Shisui asked with curiosity in his voice.

"You are not stupid like most humans, I will give you that. I chose you because you possess one of the strongest Mangekyou Sharingan abilities in existence and your soul was also the only one that was recoverable."

"What do you mean recoverable?" Shisui asked raising an eyebrow.

"If a person is brought back to life by Edo Tensei, the person loses the ability to reincarnate in a different world other than his own. The person gets bound to that particular world and it is not possible to reincarnate them in another world, much less a dimension. The laws of Samsara does not allow it."

"Didn't you say that you are a primordial being? Why can't you snatch some souls?" 

"I can do it, but if I do that, the balance of life and death will be broken and the world will be in chaos. Simply put, it will result in countless butterfly-effects and most of them will be negative." Said the primordial and Shisui somewhat agreed with his logic.

 "So, do you accept the proposal?"

Shisui thought for a while and asked. "What world are you going to reincarnate me in and what do I have to do?"

"The world I am going to reincarnate you is a world where gods walk among men. A world filled with devils, gods, angels, and every other mythological being one could imagine. But this world is bound to get destroyed because of the foolishness of certain individuals. Your job will be to prevent it from being destroyed. I won't restrict your freedom nor will I look over you. But the world is bound to get destroyed if you don't take any action. So you will be forced to fight in order to survive."

Shisui was flabbergasted. He was unable to prevent Danzo from stealing his eye in his previous world and this primordial wants him to fight against beings stronger than gods?

"I know what you are thinking, but do not worry. I will give you a few gifts that will help you grow strong enough to face those calamities. But you will have to train to be able to use those gifts to their full potential. Now, do you accept?"

Shisui thought for a long time but ultimately decided to accept. 'I already failed once, I cannot afford to fail again. I will not let this second chance go to waste.' "I accept."

"Very Well, Little Uchiha. I will reincarnate you as a devil. You will be born as the heir of the Devil Pillar Seere. And I will also give you a few gifts when you turn 5 years old. As for the rest of the information about that world, you will gain them once you reincarnate. Now go and be reborn."

Once the primordial completed his sentence, Shisui was engulfed by white light and he vanished.

"Let's see if you can survive this chaotic world, Shisui Uchiha. And I hope that you can prevent it from falling apart."

After this, the void was quiet once again.
