I close my eyes and layout fully to rest my body after that horrendous fight on my part, I could have done many things better but at this point, it's over and I got lucky so it's not too bad. I momentarily scan the area with the new technique I am working on then look around with sin sense just in case only to see a massive amount of green sin near me and I reflexively jump up thinking Broc isn't gone. no sight of him as I look around and then I notice his arm and sure enough it's leaking a massive amount of green sin.

I look around once more before I approach the arm and try to absorb the sin and nothing happens other than the sin around it being absorbed. the arm itself still glows green but it's no longer leaking so I reluctantly pick it up just for it to disappear when I touch it. not wanting to look too weird in case Catherine is still watching I just walk over to the side of the tent and sit back down knowing the coast is clear.

I open the system to see what I got from that to be pleasantly surprised.

Staring blankly at the notification I realize now that hunting down bloodfall for their member's corpses just became a priority so I can gain mass amounts of sin. that was the arm of an early to mid-demon emperor, I can only imagine the gains from a peak demon overlord. with these gains I actually can plan to reach demon overlord sooner than I expected, I will need to get someone else other than Catherine to help with bloodfall since in the canon she beat the three demon overlords one versus three but they all escaped with the only death being after he ran away. with someone like Paglio and maybe Zola if I meet her soon then all three will be turned into sin, well two anyway I don't know if I can only absorb sin from royal families or do dragons count or not.

As I am wondering how this new feature works I notice a notification from the temple of sin and try to view it only to be transported to the temple. quickly trying to exit to make sure Catherine doesn't notice I disappeared I notice one of the alters is glowing. I get distracted and approach it and notice it is the one for the shield which is the Leviathan family and that's when I notice the writings on the altar are only lit up on the bottom. curiously I touch the altar and it stops flashing and just has a steady glow around the bottom and where the shield would go a tiny pebble is floating. I try to observe it with all seeing eye before touching it in case I might break something and find that it drops into my hand and all I can see is a rock that is compressed energy.

I reappear outside still sitting by the tent and realize I likely did all that mentally and never actually left the physical world. I check my inventory and pull out the rock and look at it some more before realizing what it is. it is spirit energy, and not just any spirit energy but Broc's spirit energy.

Given I can't use spirit energy but this should still be useful for others, or maybe not since it is the energy of Broc himself and might not work with someone else energy. I will have to test it to see what happens and if it works with someone else I can give it to them for a boost in spirit energy. but for now, I need to refocus on what is happening and that is Catherine is one fruit from finishing Nirvana and nothing seems to be going wrong. which is a good thing but also a bad thing, I was banking on it falling through and being able to reincarnate her today and using her help for a few things but now I need to take things slower. oh well at least my sin problem is looking to be getting better, it won't be too hard to convince Catherine to reincarnate to not only gain immortality but also get a huge power-up.

After only half the normal amount of time Catherine comes out once again, this time when I observe her with Purson I see her spirit power is almost all condensed into one spot only lacking a little more. I don't expect anything to go wrong when she has made it this far with no problems I notice she is ever so slightly wobbling.

"You good? only took you half the normal amount of time this go around." I pull out what should be the last fruit and like every other time I underhand toss it to her, she reaches for it but misses and it falls to the floor. I double-take and look at the fruit on the floor before I look over at Catherine again and she shows no reaction. "hey you good?"

" *hmmm* Oh, yea I am good I just need to stay focused on this last part." she leans over to grab it since she has to focus on keeping her spirit power completely condensed and likely can't use it to grab the fruit. I stand up to grab it for her when I notice she bent halfway to it before stopping and I check her spirit power again with Purson and can't see anything wrong. I bend down next to her and grab the fruit and as I stand up straight I am standing over her and notice up close she is practically shaking while keeping her power under control and I realize I should have just given her two on the last go around.

"Here let me help you, from what I can see you are exerting yourself a lot to keep your progress." I try to help her back into her spot to finish to last of the nirvana when I get a notification of my sin count rising without me even actively absorbing any. curiously I try to sense where it is coming from when I get blinded by a cloud of dark blue almost black sin completely enveloping me. I quickly put two and two together and realize the source and try to drop my arm that was assisting her, but before my arm can break contact she has her arms wrapped around me and presses herself on me.

I look down at the top of her head and hold both arms out to the sides, I wait a moment as she catches her breath so to speak. she has me wrapped in a hug and is squeezing me as tight as she can which shows me that nirvana has dropped her physical power to pitifully weak levels. she loosens one of her arms and reaches out toward my right hand where the fruit is.

"I need it." she whispers and I hand it to her, she slowly eats it without letting me go by just turning her head to the side. she has tossed the veil off as it was in the way and I am greeted with one of the most appealing faces I have ever seen. her black eyes with shining stars slowly look up after she finishes with the fruit, she observes me for a moment before narrowing her eyes and wrapping her free arm around me again. "if I didn't know better I would assume you were planning this from the start."

Catherine sighs and shakes her head before letting the rest of her body weight fall against me and I support her. she has one of her hands that was clutching my side slide up my back sending chills through me. as it reaches the back of my head she grips my hair and slowly pulls me down as she raises her chin and presses her searing hot lips against mine.
