14 Seeing the world with new eyes

It was decided that Sebastian would come to teach him on alternate days of the week and the remaining days would be for Alex to complete the tasks/homework given by Sebastian to him. And the weekends were supposed to be free for Alex.

Sebastian insisted to teach even on weekdays but Remy was against it so Sebastian could only recede back. And so Alex's tutoring started. At the beginning Alex didn't like the idea because even if it was intermediate study sessions he already knew about that, but his view soon changed because Sebastian's way of teaching was very different than normal.

He had more hands on means and explained concepts in a deep fashion giving several examples on the way. The most important part though was his magic centered approach because almost everything he taught he could trace it back to magic and explain how magic comes into picture in that particular concept.

Alex was immediately engrossed because of this because in his previous life the schooling he had received was general at best, it was undoubtedly the best pvt school yet it focused on all aspects rather than magic alone. While Sebastian was a tutor hired by the high and mighty people having Great martial prowess so his attention was sure a little partially towards martial way and magic as he emphasized on it more.

Aside from that the free time he was allotted to complete his homework which he insisted in doing in the library was his favorite. The Lamarka house holds library wasn't any treasure for the previous Alex who focused on studying Psychology so he almost never read any book inside there but for the baby Alex it was a heaven. There were all sorts of books on Martial arts and magic. These were books written by great Cultivators which described their experiences and enlightenments in different fields of magic. Most of the books were high level so Alex didn't understand them but there many basic books on foundations of Magic which were more than enough for him to spend time upon.

Also while reading the books he also sensed a surprising fact about himself, he now had photographic memory. Almost every book he read that he understood he could memorize the entirety of it. which was a very helpful thing. He speculated this sudden change was related to him being reborn but didn't ponder any further as it was still a waste to think of a phenomenon at such a level for now.

Half a year later...

After almost 6 months of learning and reading Alex now had a defined image of Martial prowess and Martial cultivators. Every last one of them was a mad scientist, he thought. One who discovered the laws of nature and perceived them in their own sense.

It was as if looking at the same object but from different eyes and different points of view. He also understood on a fundamental level the difference between a level 10 and a level 50 power house. It was there sense of understanding. One could say fire is nothing but heat and a source of light another would say fire is energy released in the form of heat and light but it requires oxygen to do this.

Although everyone was aware of the later fact about fire but knowing what exactly does it mean to have energy that can change into fire after combining with oxygen on an instinctual level was far easier said than done.

That was also the reason why science was so important as it not only told the truth but most importantly it pointed out a correct fundamental direction for cultivators to proceed in their understanding of magic so that they don't stray away from the correct path.

Sebastian would also explain the geography and history of Antraxia Universe to Alex from time to time although it wasn't in detail but some facts were surprising for him as he was unaware of them before.

The fact like Antraxia had three realms and the realm in which they lived was actually known as Mortal realm was a piece of surprise for him, as for the other two realms even Sebastian didn't know much about them but there were scientific as well as magical evidences that the other realms do exist. Alex was intrigued by this idea of realms but upon asking Sebastian about what exactly is a realm he got a clear reply, "Out of syllabus"

A new form of curiosity and excitement had built up in Alex's mind about the magical world that he had neglected previously. If before he was just trying to learn Magic to get revenge then now he showed a genuine hunger for Magical knowledge.

Sebastian was overwhelmed with Alex's speed of understanding at first but as time passed by he just became used to it. Sebastian knew Alex was different. Unlike his previous ways of teaching where he had to clearly define basic from advance level of concepts that he could teach at one time, now he just went with the flow as Alex understood and grasped almost everything instantly.

He no longer tried to teach Alex on the intermediate level but extended his teachings to advance level till he sensed Alex's lack of understanding had triggered when he stopped and gave Alex time to think about the concepts taught.

Alex's hunger for knowledge though kept growing as time passed.

6 years later…

Alex was running along the compounds of his walls on the green grass. Sweat could be seen dropping from his face as he clenched his fists and kept running. Suddenly an alert popped on his watch stopping him in his tracks. It was a message from Sebastian Klein his master. He immediately viewed the message and soon an old bearded man's hologram image popped up.

"Alex your device to enhance the stabilization of portals has been accepted by the Defense Committee they hope to see you as soon as possible to discuss further details. Boy with this you have also become the youngest tier 3 patent holder ever"

Alex closed the message before a smirk formed on his mouth as he smiled looking at the sky. He then ran towards the mansion to prepare for the upcoming presentation.
