12 Aww shit! Here we go again

Matthew carefully picked up Alex and strapped him to the baby rack he borrowed from the med-department to carry him.

Matthew and Rocky were then escorted to the nearest portals on Madox city from where they teleported back to the capital of Beljaris, Planet Faras.

It was the most densely populated planet in the country. It was a natural habitat for Humans. Unlike most other planets that were harsh for humans Faras could be seen as a green haven. The harsh environment wasn't a big deal for people with high martial prowess like Matthew but for the younger generation who weren't awakened yet it was ofcourse not suitable. As for those who chose not to undertake the martial prowess they couldn't help but roll down to the bottom of the hierarchy pyramid.

Martial prowess and magic prowess are different things. Martial prowess is just a branch of magic prowess which was the most popular as it involved the use of magic to battle while magic prowess could be said be said to be using magic to make devices from weapons to smart toothbrushes, whether it was cleaning and sanitation using magic or performing medical operations, creating cures for diseases and even business or war strategies.

After all magic was not just fire, water, lightning fantasy BS it was what made humans interact and control their surrounding environment, it enhanced not only their bodies but most importantly also their minds.

It was like two people one with level 1 magic prowess and the other one with level 10 magic prowess playing chess against one another.

The person with higher magic prowess will have faster thinking process, better perception of his opponents moves and surrounding, a faster ability to grasp and much more.

It was almost as if a genius person was using the 100% capacity of his 30 billion neuron brain cells while the other one despite being untalented was using 20% of his 300 billion neuron brain cells, which gives him almost a double edge over the genius guy. That' why at the top level of society everyone had one thing on common magic prowess.

After landing back on Faras Matthew and Rocky's expression immediately relaxed, Aferall there's no feeling like home.

Rocky looked at Matthew and said,

"Matthew looks like I not only became Vice-Brigadier General but also an uncle at the same time"

While on Military ground they had to maintain protocols but while alone they were casual because Rocky was actually a very good and trusted friend of Matthew. He and Rocky had joined the military school together so they had quiet the history. Matthew's promotion also meant that the top brass of his platoon would also get promoted that was usually how stuff worked so Rocky too was naturally promoted.

Rocky was actually equally talented to Matthew in martial prowess so much so that rather than being the vice-commander he with his own right could have achieved a similar rank to that of Matthew's but rocky wasn't what one could call someone with a high IQ.

He was a brute, and he knew that himself. Matthew on the other hand could be said shrewd and decisive so in order to save his friend from doing something stupid and dying on the battlefield along with the fact that he also needed a trust worthy right-hand Matthew offered him the post in their early days when he was just promoted to a squad captain which rocky had gladly accepted which developed a strong brotherhood between them,

Matthew smiled listening to Rocky, "haha but now that you know this start acting a little responsible don't go overboard with the booze and girls tonight"

Rocky scratched his bald head and spoke in a hasty manner, "Mat my ride's here looks like I gotta go, see you later"

Matthew just sighed looking at Rocky running away,

"A dogs tail, crooked till the end" he thought.

He then took a cab from the military portal station to his home. He could have just used the military transport but that would announce everyone that he was back in the town ruining the surprise for Remy.

Alex was still asleep while all this was happening.

Matthew's hover jet cab stopped in front of a mid-size, white mansion in a posh colony which was filled with similar small to large sized houses. There was a compound created around it with a turf covering all the portion inside along with trees and bushes planet alongside the compound walls.

He got off the jet and jumped over the mansion compound sneakily so as to not alert the gate guard and approached the mansion door. He then rang the bell on the interface screen outside the door.

Remy who was typing something on the quantum computer when she heard the sound of the bell and immediately went to open the door she was not expecting anyone so it was a bit strange but when she saw who was standing in front of her she immediately went forward and hugged the man tightly.

Matthew returned the same. Remy then immediately moved his arms over her shoulders and berated, "why didn't you tell me, you always tell me when you are coming back"

Matthew then smirked and said because I have a surprise for you, "Matthew then pointed towards the baby basket which he had kept aside, out of Remy's view"

Remy looked at the baby inside the basket and was immediately dumfounded she approached the basket with staggered steps, "Is it ou…our baby" she murmured.

Remy then crouched down to take a look at the baby, it's close eyes, it's little fists, the shiny bald head. "its sooo cute" she thought. Matthew just rolled his eyes, "you are his mother you know go ahead pick him he won't bite you."

Remy turned her head and looked at Matthew with an angry gaze. First of all they had decided to adopt a child after he came back but now here he was already with a child a unannounced, "it was such a big decision, how could he be so abrupt" she thought but as soon as she turned to look at the baby her gaze turned mild again. She picked up Alex and tightly hugged the baby while sniffing back the tears and said looking at Matthew. "I am a mother now. He is my son."

Matthew smiled at the scene and hugged them both saying, "hey don't leave me behind"

Alex on the other hand as soon as Matthew hugged them both started waking up. "why is it so hard to breathe suddenly?"

Remy noticing the delicate movements of the baby and immediately pushed Matthew aside as she held Alex further to make it easier for him to move and also to take another look at him. She just couldn't get enough of her new baby.

Alex opened his eyes just to see a gorgeous lady with platinum blonde hair and blue eyes staring at him.

Alex became teary eyed soon as he recalled the last time he saw his mother. He immediately raised his arms in a gesture of hug and said "Mom I missed you"

But what Remy and Matthew heard was some gibberish and the word "mawmaa"

Remy's heart skipped a beat as she again hugged Alex tightly. "he called me Mama, he called me Mama Matthew…sniff sniff…He knows I am his mother. This is the best day of my life…sniff"

Matthew just found this unfair in his heart afterall he carried the brat all this way and didn't even hear a single fart from him but now he called Remy mama,

"yeah I guess dada is just a difficult syllable than mama"

Remy didn't pay attention to Matthew and lifted the baby looking at it's golden eyes she said, "From today onwards you will be Alex Lamarka, my son"

Matthew almost rolled his eyes he was careful not to name the baby anything lest Remy becam,e angry that he didn't involve her in the decision making process but as if that was not enough she said my baby, he became a little angry because of that and coughed loudly, "ahemm !"

Remy as if realizing her mistake corrected herself pouting, "am sorry, our son"

Alex on the hand was super happy at the same time looking at his parent's acting wishy washy and all, on even the simplest of his gestures seemed funny to him but undoubtedly he knew his journey was just getting started. He did remember a funny meme from the past which would later become famous though as he murmured to himself "Aww shit! here we go again"
