22 Alex on News
The next morning or it was better to say the next afternoon his alarm woke him up from his deep sleep.
He had placed 3 alarms of 10, 11 am and 12.15 pm but only woke up at the last one. Alex looked at the time and it was already 12.15 pm the news was supposed to flash at 12.30. Alex got a little annoyed as he spoke to himself,
"so many alarms yet I wake up at the last one, the fuck's wrong with me"
So he quickly went and splashed some water on his face before turning on the T.V. which as he predicted was already on because his mother was eagerly sitting on the couch waiting for the news to flash.
The wait was finally over when a new program came up on the channel namely, 'Smart Talk'. It was usually a program where famous personalities from different fields were interviewed by reporters. Alex was somewhat surprised because he never thought his interview would showcase here after all the people who came in this segment were all great personalities as compared to them he had just invented a tier 3 device.
Alex looked at his mother she didn't seem surprised by it so he immediately came to the conclusion "maybe the channel was manipulated to do this."
Alex just shook his head and continued watching. The host gave a brief introduction about Alex also including the fact that he was the son of General Matthew. Kennedy and Alex then popped-up on the screen. Remy immediately became excited and turned on the record function on the hologram screen to capture the precious moments of her son's glory.
The interview was mostly technical yet some of the odd questions came out of the blue once in a while. After almost half an hour of the footage, the program finally ended. Remy quickly held Alex and hugged him proudly saying, "My son is the smartest"
Alex just went along with it because pushing Remy aside would ruin her, a rather happy moment, he thought.
Fortunately, a notification vibrated his watch. It was a call from Lucas. Alex smiled before picking up the phone, a hologram image quickly came up showing Lucas sitting on a luxurious couch while ready to cuss. But before he could do anything Remy immediately came in the view from Alex's side saying hi to Lucas. Lucas just gave a dry smile and spoke awkwardly, "Hello Aunty"
Remy had never seen Alex's friends. She didn't even know whether he had a friend so she was intrigued when she saw Lucas bombarding him with questions one after the other.
"Are you a friend of Alex? Where did you meet? How old are you?"
Lucas being asked so many questions simultaneously lost the ability to speak but Alex soon took over, "Mom he is Lucas Shelby, the same age as mine, now please let me have my call peacefully"
Remy was a little surprised after hearing Lucas's surname but she didn't disturb Alex further and left the hall she had her own calls of congratulations to take after all it was her son who made it on news today.
Lucas immediately sighed before gritting his teeth and speaking to Alex, "Man you…you are a jerk you know. You could have informed us about this at least. How many secrets are you just hiding huh! You have made my life hell my father keeps talking about you and how I should take you as my teacher and learn a thing or two from you."
Alex laughed at the end of Lucas's sentence which made him even angrier. Alex on the other hand also received calls from Max and Adam at the same time which he joined together with Lucas's into a conference call.
Max gave a nefarious smile as he greeted Alex, "Hmm now that our very own friend is a billionaire don't you all think he should treat us to something"
Light shined in everyone's eyes with intensity as they gave the same nefarious smile to Alex. Alex just sighed before speaking, "alright but at least congratulated me properly none of you bastards have even said anything close to it"
Adam simply laughed and spoke, "yeah yeah congrats….my ass" Alex felt satisfied but the phrase after long the pause made him just sigh in defeat while all the others started laughing.
Alex decided to treat them tonight at 9 pm because he had to attend the party of Bismuth Family which started at 6 pm. On mentioning this Lucas and Adam both almost choked on their words as Lucas hastily asked.
"Bro don't tell me you got invited to tonight's party or you are just a +1 tagging along with someone"
Alex furrowed his brows he was surprised by there reactions but he still answered casually, "No I am pretty sure I was invited personally by one of their family members"
Max on the other hand was equally curious as Alex as to why Adam and Lucas were acting strange but didn't say anything.
Lucas and Adam looked at each other before sighing.
