In a world consumed by the mundane, Haruto Oshima stood out as a bright student who despised the rat race everyone seemed trapped in.
His dream? A life filled with success, excitement, and wealth alongside his middle school girlfriend, Kanna. Haruto diligently studied, excelled in every exam, and took decisive steps toward achieving the life he envisioned.
However, everything changed when Haruto's girlfriend Kanna broke up with him during their last year of middle school, leaving him deeply affected. As he grappled with sadness, the world was suddenly engulfed by the Covid-19 pandemic, disrupting everyone's lives.
After years of struggle, the world finally recovered from the pandemic, and people resumed their normal lives. However, Haruto Ogawa's education was disrupted, leading to five lost years. His job at a mall counter forced him into a life he hated, plunging him into boredom and eventually into depression.
Haruto eventually made a decision to shake up his life and began seeking excitement. In his pursuit of fun, he joined a game called the “Smiley Face Game” where players completed tasks in hopes of winning millions of dollars. Unbeknownst to him, this seemingly innocent game would turn into a “Human Massacre Game"
