Chapter 1: Nirvana, New York 0026 Pt. 1

Nirvana City Sector C- Old World, Water Pathway B

Town Hall

<A Man who's Not Quite a Man>

Nirvana, Center City of Neo New York Providence. One of the cities that took a toll during the stalled period after World War III. The city has began to descend under the water with most of the outer edge beginning to be consumed. With only a few upper levels being preserved, a great deal of the city has begun to rot away.

The preserved parts of the city are now part of the Old World and have bridges that connect each of these outer parts to each other forming a wall. In Sector C of this outer wall lies the Town Hall, Court House, and several minor police stations and facilities. It is the only outer mass that connects to the State Boarder and the inner city of Nirvana.

Nirvana has become a city of ruin, with crimes escalating and the police having little to no control over any parts of the City. Even so, people are still living as if nothing bad was going on around them. They call these types of people, People of the Light, it means that they only know the bright days ahead of them. They occupy the Upper Town, where as the remainder of the City is occupied by the People of the Dark, which is the opposite in terms of what they see and how they think.

Outside Nirvana, Neo New York is split into six other Cities. Each city being over run by a virus that no one can pinpoint or give information on.

"Another city was taken down by the virus. It seems that more and more people are coming in contact with this drug or something." an inspector stated as he sat reading the hologram newspaper and taking a sip of his coffee.

The inspector Gray Dallas, senior officer of Nirvana's police force. He has graying black hair, a thick mustache, and has the typical police officer glasses on at all times. His voice is low and gruff giving off an uncaring tone. When he isn't wearing his glasses, his eyes are a cold grey color indicating the slow loss of his sight. His ideals' are leave it to the politicians and don't get involved if you know what's good for you. He has a cafine addiction and a poor outlook on life. This is part of the reason his wife left him taking his two daughters as well.

His partner next to him watched with bated anticipation hoping for interesting orders. Which never comes.

Jacob Howard, a fairly new officer in Dallas's office. He is the idealist and the picture of pure officials.

He has blonde hair spiked at the ends. His hair is short, and his eyes are pure blue making him one of the nobles in his country. He is also baby faced and extremely young for going into this line of work. He has yet to witness any kind of darkness embedded in the city of Nirvana or even in the world. His home is of the American Upper Division, and has come to Nirvana as part of his training.

"They're calling it a virus, but doesn't it seem odd to you? How come it effects some people but not others?" Jacob asked, a bit agitated about being left out of the loop.

"It said a virus or something, but there wasn't much detail in the report. You didn't miss a thing, and anyway, isn't it better to not know anything in the first place?" Dallas shot back to his partner.

"Is it alright to keep everyone in the dark, is what you are asking? Yet, I feel that if we kept this up, bad things will continue to happen, and there wouldn't be anyway to stop it," Jacob sighed.

"You can say that, but the truth is that everyone is better off left in the dark. I can at least tell you what was in the report, but the people should be left ignorant to this situation. If the public finds out, only panic will ensue, and it will destroy all the chances of gaining control of the situation," he explained as he tossed the report to his partner who was very bad at catching it in the first place.

Without a word the young inspector opened the reports and his eyes widen at the content. Pictures of mutilated victims and so many other graphic pictures too hard to really picture. It was like the people were eating themselves from inside and out. The bloody massacre of an entire province across the sea.

"What's...this?" he asked almost too speechless for actual words. His partner took another sip of his coffee before saying anything.

"Public will panic when they hear anything about this. Those intoxicated by this...virus is what they're calling it, will become mindless and start eating themselves and those around them. I guess in long forgotten history books, they were called zombies." Dallas explained as he took another sip of his, now cooling coffee.

"What is going on with this world?" Jacob asked feeling that he was wrong to really know what was going on. The other inspector just simply stared out the window, giving no reply knowing that there wasn't a need to reply. Neither of them said anything for quite awhile, it was a heavy silence.

"Just don't think about it. It's easier to walk around in ignorant bliss, just be like you always are," the silence was broken with a sigh from Dallas. He leaned forward on his desk his fingers crossing each other.

There was another silence before Jacob replied. He thought about the situation as a whole. In no way did he want to die, but he knew what he had to do in the line of duty.

"I just can't sir, how can I? Now…I want to save these people, whatever it is that is attacking them, they are just normal people with normal lives. I can't sit ideally by and let this madness go on," Jacob stood up and held his fist to the ceiling. His energy at full throttle.

"That's not a good idea, whatever this virus is, it's being covered up by the World Government. We can only do what we're asked of. That is our only duty in this dying world," Dallas stated, "and if you continue this insane pursuit, you'll just end up making enemies where there shouldn't be."

Jacob sat back down and thought for a moment. He was about to say more, but decided to keep it to himself. There was no arguing with his mentor. Not while he was merely a trainee.

The conversation ended with nothing being accomplished yet again.

Nirvana Upper Town- Gilda's Academy for the Gifted

<Gossip that Creates More Tension>

Nirvana isn't a safe place to live. Many crimes are committed, even under the watchful eyes of the police. Among these crimes spike up rumors that board teens love to chat about.

"I wonder if the police will capture the latest killer? Isn't it a crime to murder people like this?" a young female student, Aya, asked, "I mean, it can't be right letting these villains go? Especially since we already have the problems with the gangs in the outer parts."

Aya, age 15 and a regular member of Gilda's Academy for the Gifted. She has long red hair tied into a bun on the back of her head with a long bang strip over her shoulder. She has a heart shaped face with dark brown eyes. She takes part in the normal classes geared for travel outside of Neo New York.

"I won't count on it. They only find the ones who have already died. It's like they can't find these people at all, my big brother is very reluctant to even let me go outside anymore, also those gangs are dangerous, but even the police can't handle these powered up predators," Wreika, Aya's closest friend, stated.

Wreika, age 15 and also a regular member of Gilda's Academy for the Gifted. She has short, curly orange hair styled with small spikes on her curls. Her eyes are light blue and her skin hue is a tan color. She has freckles spotting her cheeks and she wears glasses for studying and during lectures. Despite her being part of the normal classes, she does take extra classes for cooking.

Both the girls seemed to be in their own little world as they talked about the current events and what they thought about the sudden murders. They didn't even pay attention to the setting sun.

The conversation suddenly turned, "Wrei, have you had any weird people come up to you lately?" Aya asked.

"What do you mean by weird?" Wreika asked.

"You know, like a person offering these weirdly colored pills or something. Cause I met someone last week. He also said that I can still try it if I go to Sector D in the night." Aya explained.

"That happened to you too?" Wreika asked feeling a lot better.

"Yeah, I think he was handing out drugs. I wander if they'd be good?" Aya thought aloud.

"Who knows," Wreika sighed.

"Anyway, I wonder if these drugs are what's causing this sudden influx of criminals? Maybe we should stay away from there, you never know if you'll be the next villain," Aya shrugged with a smirk.

Wreika put her thumb to her chin, "You're right, but it might be fun. I mean there's no proof it's caused by drugs, so what could it hurt?"

They paused their conversation for silence as they thought about what they might do, and when they finally came to a conclusion, "It's probably a bad idea. Let's go ahead and forget this conversation." they finally said as they decided to head out.

They noticed a lone student was still sitting in the classroom. They knew her very well as being the anti-social classmate, Rena Polaris. Outside of that, they knew very little.

The two girls walked up to her as she began to stir from her sleep.

"Good morning, Rennie, how was your nap?" Aya asked with the utmost sarcasm she could pull off.

Wreika smirked, "It wouldn't hurt if you could, you know, like, participate in class sometimes? I mean, all you do is sleep."

Aya concluded, "Yeah, instead of looking out the window all the time, why don't you talk with us. We're discussing the occurrences recently. What are your thoughts on it? What do you think is causing this mess? I mean, it can't be drugs, can it?" The two were insincere in their words and attitude. Both tried to at least act like they cared, but they just didn't care about a non social classmate.

The girl looked at them, "It doesn't matter what is causing it. Do whatever you want, isn't that what this city is all about?" she was tempted to say this, but because of her personality and her circumstances, she didn't say a word. Instead she got up to walk out of the classroom.

"Ugh, what a bitch. Of course, she wouldn't response. It's no surprise on that one," the girls sighed, then they returned to their conversation. Nothing would change with talk, and as time would pass, they would stop and focus on something else. That's what happens in this world, once a rumor has played its course, it would fade away. Almost as if it had never been there in the first place.

As for the other student, she began to walk back to her home. She would rather stick to herself and live in the shadows. It was hard at school since she was standing out every time she ignored people; she thought this was better, that way no one would find out anything about her, and the secrets she hides from others. She would be able to live a semi-peaceful life, waiting for the right moment in time to return to the place she wished for the most.

A sudden buzzing sound hit her ears as a figure materialized before her.

"Rennie," the voice called to her. She turned around to see the white rabbit floating behind her. Her eyes weren't surprised or shocked, just cold, unmoving. This creature was something she would rather throw away, but even if she did (and she has tried) it always came back to her.

"Why are you here, Shiro?" she asked with a toneless voice. She has lost a lot of her emotions over the past three years. Even if she tried, she wouldn't be able to change herself now.

"Contract me," he stated with an eerie smile. It would send a chill through anyone's spine, unless you've become accustomed to these kinds of things. Which she had.

She turned back around and started to walk again. He still followed her in hopes that he could persuade her today. Or maybe tomorrow. Or even a week from today. He tries everyday to presuade the inmoving, uncaring child to no avail.

They walked through the dark, and decaying city. After the 3rd world war, things hadn't been the same. Crime had escalated and no one has tried to rebuild the cities like they used to. All the money and technology went into fueling the armies and wealthier crowds. So not much was funded into other things. There is an attempt to bring down the world's leading criminals, but the police have only been bribed into looking the other way. That's why humans have been labeled the scum of the world. It's really changed, but still, some things have remained.

"If you contracted me, then power would be yours," Shiro continued in his futile persuasion. Even the same lines wouldn't work, and he knew it. Yet, his line of thinking was, "what if I persuaded enough would it tire her into breaking down? Would that make her contract with me?" Those kind of thoughts are almost too naeïve that it could work.

Rennie didn't say to her classmates, but she knew the cause of all the killings. The only ones' capable of escaping the eyes of the police were the contractors. They had unbelievable powers and abilities that allowed them to escape, and their luck was in abundance. It was as if they weren't even human, maybe they weren't? They are all contractors of beings called Devils. Shiro is a devil, and a devil comes from the human heart. That's why the specifics come from the person for which they had originated from. It might be a virus, but it's still not accepted.

"It was a new contractor, but their heart was weak. They killed everyone and ate themselves," the little bunny said with an excitement that no one really understood. It was fun for the devils'. They were built from the depths of the human soul and in the end are freed from everything once their contractors' loose control or before their contractors' understood anything.

"So, another heart was broken and had no strength to move on," Rennie stated.

"Of course, we're born from the hearts of men and women who want to escape. Our personalities and reasons for contracting come from their hearts too. That's why I am here, won't you contract with me too?" Shiro asked, you could hear the smile in his voice.

"And the promises you make, are nothing but empty words. If we contract, it's the same as signing our souls away to a real devil, even if the devil is ourselves," Rennie stated through gritted teeth.

"You may be correct about that, but it doesn't have to end with your death, so….why don't you make a contract with me?" lies.

"Not going to happen," she stated and turned the corner coming up to her apartment she lived in with her aunt.

<A Devil's Constant Plea>

After the third war occurred, people have began to go through a change. As the world became darker, so did their hearts, and when they couldn't handle it, a devil is born. Since no one really knows about them, they can't say why this occurs, but when you contract with a devil you awaken two types of things. One is a power that is unique to you and the other is a weapon.

"Contract with me, and free yourself from this doubt in your heart. Become one with me and you'll be able to see that person again, you want to return to the place it all began, right?" Shiro said in a melodic voice.

She turned to glare at him and walked into her house. Ignoring the little creature, she would love to do away with it. Holding all her hate and grudges, as well as never forgetting her own will. She would never let go of the pain she's felt for a long time now. Never. It was all his fault and she would die with her hate before agreeing to his contract.

<The Woman in Black>

Now, this seems to occur to those under a great deal of stress or have gone through something traumatic. Whatever the reason is, they seem to manifest and bring out something that no one can quite understand.

"Hah, hah, hah," a man with a large build breathed heavily. He was running and ended up in a room with no known exits except the way he had come in. He was panicked and held his knife out in front of him. It was gripped so tightly that you would think his skin would rip and blood would splatter all over the place.

Clack. Clack. Clack.

A woman came walking in, her heals clicking with every step she took. She stopped once she was in and she ran her fingers through her long, black hair, as it's thickness waved in the windy breeze. Her glare held a terrifying hold on the man. Her aura held an even more terrifying hold on the man.

"Now, why are you running? I thought you were going to have your way with me? I thought you were getting so excited? Don't you like me?" she asked, her voice had no intense sound to it, but her words hung heavy in the air. She was a cold woman who seemed that no matter what she did, she wouldn't losing anything.

"St…stay away from me bitch," he cried out. This man is actually a well known serial killer. He brings his victims to a vacant room, and kills them. No one knew why he was so heavy on killing, especially young women. He didn't always try to touch them, just play with them a little bit. It didn't matter what gender, and his weapon was a special kind as well. The police haven't even found his location yet.

"Now, how many victims have you piled up on your record?" she asked closing her eyes. She envisioned the many victims that could have been, but she didn't really know who they all were. There was a specific reason for her to track down these vile creatures, but she needn't have a thought about the past now. It wouldn't sit well with anything that is to be done here. No. She'll save it for later, when she was by herself.

She opened her eyes, her bleak, black eyes holding a cold stair.

He felt a chill rise around him and a warm energy came bursting from within himself. It was so strong that it came to a breaking point, with a strong grip the handle broke through his skin. The blood started to flow from the opening wounds. The sticky, metalic liquid made his already sweaty palms much wetter.

It was like fate was testing his endurance. That in any second, he'd be cut down, but even in these thoughts of his, he'd still stand his ground. His thoughts center around the idea of being able to best this terrifying woman, and he'd win. These thought swelled up inside him, that he had enough courage to hold up his knife again. With that he took a charge straight for her. She side stepped from his charge with ease.

It was easy, it was almost as if she was able to read his movements before it had happened. That's because of her special ability. She was able to slow people's movements and quicken hers.

"Now, now. Do you think I'll be an easy target for you? I'd warn you, but that's far too much effort," she stated as she kept dodging his attacks. The ease of her strides, and the thrusts of his knife were very much in sync. She played it like a dance, with each movement leading him to his eternal end.

When he realized that his whole movement was being slowed, he could do nothing but watch his end come. In just a few short moments, he'd be dead. His whole life flashed before his eyes, and the memories he'd wished to never see again. There they were, a lot of memories, from before he gained his weapon, to after, and of all the victims he'd mutilated.

And, as if on cue, a single moment in his life stuck out the most. It was an important one that could never reverse his predicament now. It was a man, he'd met him not too long ago, but he'd wished to have met him sooner. It was the man who gave him his weapon, and it made his life so nice, until this precise moment.

"Now, remember Paul, this knife will give you the life force of your victims. This will be true, unless you cut yourself at any one moment. When that happens, no matter how much life you've collected, it will only suck it out of you. So, be careful," the man had said. He was in a trench coat with his face covered so he couldn't see what he looked like.

Now, now he regretted ever trusting that man, and going after a victim that would fight back, and win. Even now, his life had been ideal for himself. He would never regret the moments he witnessed, the moments he's tangled with the door of death. In truth, he knew that this was the perfect end for him. Savoring the last bits of his memories, so strong that he could remember every detail to every kill he's tasted. The sweet scents of the women, the feel of their flowing blood, and the screams he's gathered, all playing till his very, last, breath.

Once his last breath was drawn, he didn't move, and his face had a mixed up distortion to it. It showed pleasure rather than fear or peace. The knife was protruding from his Adam's apple, his red eyes holding no light, and just a deep, dark existence that would no longer see life again.

"Hmm, so this wasn't the guy either, he's such a strange man too. Looking like that after taking his last breath. Are all men like this?" the woman sighed as she picked up the knife. She could feel the energy of a non human, but that's all it was.

Kaw. Kaw.

"Lady Alice, Lady Alice, you've become quite the hunter, another man dead and ready to be vacuumed up!" a little black bird landed on her shoulder. It ruffled it's feathers and preened them after his harsh flight.

"Krow, aren't you taking your time today? Go and clean up that man's body. He's your feast for the night, and we really don't want those pigs on our backs again," she stated as she dropped the knife back on the ground with a clang. It dissolved and disappeared.

"Not this again? The last time was your fault anyways. He was a pig that you saved, but boy was he frightened," he cawed as he landed on the head of the criminal, "to think that this town is filled with cowards, even the police force won't touch you so long as you wipe out these heathens."

"Just get on with it, I'm ready to leave," she stated and turned her back to him and walked out of the building. The sun was bright and beating down on her cold skin.

Her thoughts wandered, thinking about why she felt cold like this. Maybe she had become a devil once she contracted that crow.

The black bird simply began his job. He began to glow, and it began to surround the body which allowed the body to break up into particles that became one with the glow. The glow grew blacker and blacker until there was no body to be seen. Then the glow faded again, the crow shaking his feathers before returning to his master.

He landed back on her shoulder snapping her out of her thoughts.

"So, what's our next mission Lady Alice? Is there another man you're hunting for? Who is he? Where is he? Is his soul ripe for the taking?" the bird gave out a loud caw.

She held her finger up to the crow and he rubbed his head against it.

"In all good time, my friend. When we finally find our biggest prey, you will get the feast you've been dying for. For now, we'll have to go after these small dishes," she stated looking back up at the sky. She drifted to her memories once more, remembering the night a couple days ago. When one of her prey was taken by another.

"But, there's something we must do first." She finished her statement as she left the abandoned construction site.

<The Curse of the young Girl>

The city is crawling with criminals who have nothing to fear. That's why there are some keepers of the justice who risk their lives for the unprotected citizens, but some of these protectors are looking for something that involves themselves. I am just one of these criminal hero's. Awaiting for the day I can change mine, and everyone else's fate. Until then, I'll just keep fighting the injustices of this city.

"Rennie, even if you don't have your full power, you still go around killing the villains of this city. I think it doesn't deserve such praise," Shiro continued to follow me. I didn't want to listen to this contract freak for another minute, but he never lets up.

I gave up on trying to chase him off, so I decided to jump from the building I was perched on. It was a wonderful night, a night filled with the scents of my prey, and my only reason to live. I always feel like I have nothing, it started three years ago, but that's that. Nothing can be gained for returning to the past, it will never change. I can only move forward.

My landing was in front of a store front that held my reflection. In that window appeared the person who I appeared as. My long, red hair tied in pigtails, short shorts that didn't reach my waist, along with a red top that didn't come down to my waist either, and a jacket that laid flat on the tips of my breast, were just small lumps compared to most women around me. To the side of my hip was the enclosed weapon I carried around.

"Admiring your reflection, that's what girls are supposed to do, right?" Shiro was still floating next to me and giggling.

You must be wondering why he said it that way right? The truth is, three years ago I wasn't in this form. I was a genuine boy, and the form before you now was my twin sister. Three years ago, my life was normal.

I turned away from the mirror and began to walk away, "devil's have other ambitions when they make contracts; in the end it always ends up killing their contractor. I won't be making a contract with you, but one day I will destroy the reasons for you being here." I said without looking back and continued to walk away from him, holding onto a long grudge that will never go away.

"That's why, I like you, Rennie, but you know the reason for me being here. It can't be changed, fate is unkind and unchanging towards those who break the designs set up for them, you know that best of all," he whispered. A soft, sweet voice that will only penetrate the first layer of my mind, but I wouldn't let it in any deeper.

After that, I walked down an alley. It was the easiest way to get back into the main street, but as I came into the alley I saw an unsettling sight. A criminal pinning a young woman to a wall, forcing himself onto her.

Another criminal, huh?

I reached for my weapon out of habit.

<The Time Fate Changed>

"Come on sweet cheeks, it'll only hurt for a bit," the man smiled as he held her wrists with one hand against the brick wall. With his free hand he was pulling down her skirt to reveal her laced panties. Her top was already unbuttoned and his sexual organs were almost at their limits. His face became distorted, almost like a pig. He was not human anymore.

"Yelp," A sudden kick clocked him in his temple knocking him away from the wall and letting the young woman go. She fell to her knees as he withstood his ground. He placed a hand to his head.

The kick came from the young woman who had just entered the alleyway. Her stance that of a calm relaxed manner. Her red eyes glaring daggers at the sexual offender.

"B…Bitch," he spat blood out of his mouth, "you fucking with me. Woman should be passive and let us men do whatever we want with them." He looked up with greed, lust, and wrath filled eyes.

The young woman pulled her weapon out as it transformed into a scythe.

She sighed, "Ugh, a woman's body really is weak, that kick should have knocked you out. Well, I'll just have to chop you up into little pieces."Her eyes held no remorse as she swung her weapon around in her hands. The scythe's reach was great and her speed was top notch.

"Hehehehe, do you think you're going to do me in. Just one fucking bitch, I think you're mistaken. You don't realize who I am do you?" he laughed making the whole alleyway shake.

"It doesn't matter what you do, you're fate will be the same. I'll be taking your head," she let her eyes glare through her bangs, "Jack the Ripper. Or should I say his fake copy cat."

"Tch, so you figured it out, but you're mistaken. I'm not a copy cat nor a fake. No, I have been given a power that puts me above the original." He laughed holding up his hands up to the sky, "I will break each and everyone of you!"

He brought his hands down again letting them touch the ground. The ground began to shake as if he was creating earthquakes with his hands.

"Pointless," she stated before running toward the man.

He lifted his hand up toward her letting his vibrating power move toward her. She jumped up landing her legs onto the brick building higher then his hands level had been.

"Heh, you have a weakness. It's the size of your waves. You haven't learned how to control them yet," she smiled happy to know something about his abilities.

"Tch," she clicked his tongue sending the wave up into her direction.

She jumped from her position before the wave hit her. He continued his onslaught attack and she continued to dodge him. This went on until she went full circle.

In this time, he shot small holes in all the buildings around them and some of the passing cars were caught up in his waves.

He was breathing heavy after releasing as many waves as he did in a short span of time. He was not in control of his abilities at all.

She landed in front of him, her scythe at the back of his neck.

"Any final words?" she asked but sliced through his neck before he could do anything.

She sighed and looked back at the assailants victim. She was shivering in fear at what she had witnessed.

She walked toward his victim, giving no remorse as to what she had done. She didn't care of helping this person out either, but she was courteous none the less.

She held out her hand, "are you alright miss?"

The young woman looked at her as if she was a deer in the headlights. She was unable to speak and sat their frozen.

"Very well, I must be going before the police show up. You should leave here as well," she said before running away.

Behind her she left a state of chaos, with a man who's head was sat next to his body. A woman was half undressed frozen in fear, and her current goal unmet.

In the wake of her fleeing, a woman with long, black hair stepped out from the shadows.

Ten Minutes After

"You lost it, you lost it," Krow cawed with excitement. It didn't bode well for him as his master moved her hand and knocked him off. That wasn't enough to keep him down as he got back up on her shoulder.

She glared at the scene before her. Her nerves becoming unraveled with her pet's constant input not helping.

"Shut up you god forsaken bird!" It appears my prey was eaten by another hunter. That means, a strong opponent has appeared, "this should be interesting. Come along Krow," she ordered.

"Where are we going?" Krow asked.

"We're preparing for the future. Tonight's prey was a loss, but we can salvage this with another. Let's go before we're caught up in this mess." she ordered and ran off.

Five Minutes Later,

The whole mess began to let up, a group of boys came into the alley as they were shouting a name, Bran, from the top of their lungs.

The young woman started to come back to earth. She had been in a trance from the current incident that had happened. Along with her memory of what transpired. The only thing that stuck with her was the image of the girl who had saved her. A red haired woman pulled into pigtails, and the red hair match her red eyes. She was unique and she wanted to meet her again.

"Bran!" one of the group members exclaimed. She turned to see her family come running up to her.

"Brother, everyone?" she asked and suddenly her eyes filled with tears. She recalled her current state of emotions and found it increasingly hard to deal with them.

"Bran, I'm so sorry. We weren't here to help. Can you forgive us?" her brother asked. He noticed how her close were disheveled and unkempt. Her blouse open revealing her undergarments, her skirt having been forced down.

"What...happened?" he asked falling to his knees.

"I...I don't remember. All I can recall is being forced down this alley and then you guys getting here. I don't know..." she cried, her brother pulling her into his arms.

He lifted her up into his arms, "Let's go, we'll get Bran home. Then we'll start looking into this incident," he ordered and his group moved to follow him.

"Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm," A young girl hummed as she kicked her feet back and forth. The other passengers ignoring the young girl in favor of their own lives.

The young child dressed in a full white dress that reached to the floor. Her feet wore black boots, and attached to the back of the dress was a pair of off white wings. Her blonde hair pulled into twin, high tailed ponytails, sat on her own with a sucker between her teeth. The ride had been bumpy for quite awhile now, and as they came closer to the station, it began to smooth out a bit.

"Elesa, are we going to have fun in this city too?" a fox asked. He was sitting across from the girl who was staring blankly out the window. The train was coming into the station slowly, her eyes too focused to realize anything around her.

The train began to slow, as a man came to stand next to the young child. "Are you alright?" he asked and she stared up at him. Her eyes void of all emotion. Her facial expressions becoming darker by the minute.

A lot of people began to become curious, this child had been alone for the entire trip and it worried them. A lone child, in white with wings, what could she be up to.

She removed the sucker from her lips with a click on it's exit.

"You're dirty," she finally said, her eyes changing from the void to an emotion filled with hate, "all of you are. Every last human, all filled with the sins of their masters and the reasons for what made them that way," she was starting to lose herself in the furry that had created her.

"Excuse me?" he asked, nervous about this girls mental state, but he didn't have much of a thought as she stood up and pointed her finger at his head.

"You should just die, like the trash you are," she smiled and his whole head was blown clear off. The body fell to the floor with a thud, and everyone was frozen in their seats. It was unbelievable that a child would do this, but she did it with only her body as a weapon.

She spun around and did the same thing to all the other passengers. She did this until not a single passenger remained breathing. The only thing that was strange was that she remained clean from the red stained color. Not a single spot was seen on her person, even as the cart was overflowing with the red color river.

She was spinning around and around in the blood stained train car. She was giggling uncontrollably when the train came to a stop.

"Let your soul darken more," the fox smiled as they left the train car, and left the station. No one would remember the face of this child, nor her get up, even after the car would be found. And the people who would have a small memory of such a little girl, they would forget it when the police arrive. She would be long gone as the police go out searching for the villain who made the mess of the car. That's how life and fate worked, they sometimes favor the vile human beings over the enforcers of the law.

"Wolf, I'm hungry," the young child whined. After her episode, she returned to her normal self. She was a curious child who was also hyper. Even if she seemed dark, nothing could stop that aspect of her personality.

"You shouldn't have gone overboard with your powers then," the fox stated.

"Come on, locate the best place in town. It'll be fun," she smiled as she probed the small, black fox.

"Ah, again with this. You don't even have money," he stated.

"Yes I do," she smiled as she held out three wallets that she took from her victims.

"Go three blocks down and you'll enter the shopping district. You'll find a place to eat there," he stated and she ran with excitement. She ran so hard that she ran into a woman.

"Ah, don't run," the woman stated, she was oddly able to keep her place and not fall.

"I'm sorry miss, I'm Elesa, no last name," the child smiled.

"I'm Alice, now why is a child running around without your parents?" she asked.

She looked up at the woman, "I don't have any. I'm here by myself," she smiled.

The woman sighed, her thoughts continuing to wonder about the child. She knew nothing good would come from a punk on the street. She didn't know what to do.

"Well Miss Alice, I'm going to eat. See you around," she smiled and ran off waving back at her.

The woman looked to the running figure, "So long as it doesn't involve me," she stated and walked away.

Without realizing it, fates hands began to shift closer to the end result. Nothing could stop it once the ticking clock began to ring. For everyone, their fates have begun to intertwine, until it is at its darkest color, and then, it'll turn even darker until it envelopes the world. That is what it means to be fates watchers. No matter how dark or stained you become.
