28 I will not let you go

As you were arranging the chocolate cakes on a tray, you felt a presence beside you. Lifting your head up you smiled seeing Jungkook smiling back at you before picking up a chocolate cake between his fingers and bringing it to his lips.

Your heart fluttered seeing him taking a bite from it, his eyes softening under your intense gaze as he was chewing happily. "It's really yummy. You are a very good cook. " Jungkook said as he licked his finger after finishing eating it.

But something wasn't right. Even if he was warmly smiling at you, you could see drops of sweat gathering on his forehead. His body was barely touching your back as he was standing behind you, but even so, you could feel him trembling.

Did I make you a little happy?  This is the only thing I can do for you.

Will you like me just a little?

Why do I feel this way around you? How can a smile of yours be able to warm up my heart this fast?

Jungkook made a step back feeling his body starting to tremble even more. No. Please. I can't worry her. I can't have another panic attack. I want it to stop.

Flashback

"Why you can't love me? Am I not your child? "

"You are just a piece of garbage we picked up from the street. We took you in our house because my husband was desperate to fuck a boy."

"Once I will have my own child, I will not give a shit about you. Not like I ever did."

"Honey, I will go and play a little with my precious little boy."

"Don't let too many bruises on his skin, his teacher already started to ask me questions. And it's annoying."

"Your father had told me that you like chocolate. Here baby, take some and let's have fun. No one will know. I already took care of the security camera.

How can you make me lose my mind this way?"

To your horror, you saw Jungkook suddenly losing his balance before collapsing on the floor. You ran quickly beside him and held him tightly in your arms.

"Jungkook? " You pushed his bangs away from his forehead to analyze his eyes and see if he was conscious. He was breathing hard as he was looking in your eyes. He struggled to say something but he couldn't make a sound.

"I will be back right away," you assured him before placing his head gently on the floor and running towards your bedroom to take out the injection. You only had a few of those left. You knew that you had to do something and get more. Jungkook will have panic attacks without it and he will get worst. You were aware of the fact that Jungkook wanted to forget what had happened to him. And he must have had a reason. Suddenly remembering everything could damage his brain even more. Returning back to the kitchen, you placed Jungkook's head on your lap before pushing the serum into his neck.

While looking at each other, Jungkook slowly started to calm down until his eyes weren't focused on you anymore.

You took him in your arms and hugged him tightly. You bit your lip as you silently cried. You didn't know what to do. You were on the verge of losing your mind.

"You will be safe here. I will not let anyone hurt you anymore. I will not let go of you." You whispered in his ear as you hugged his head gently bringing his face into the crook of your neck.

Jungkook heard your words. You thought that because of the serum, he wasn't conscious. His brain was paralyzed, he couldn't remember what just happened to him. But he could feel your warmth. He could hear your soothing voice.

And he wanted to stay like that forever.
