1 For you, a few years in the future...
It was on a Saturday afternoon. That Saturday was marked in the history of all mankind.
In the year 2012, the date was 21/12. This date is known until today as "invasion", for others this date has been known as the "day of" final judgment.
Magical portals have sprung up in the sky from all over the planet earth. From these innumerable portals sprang magical creatures, creatures that had hitherto only existed in the fantasy books.
They stopped being just a myth that Saturday afternoon.
At first they were friendly. But after a few months, he hears another world event that shook all mankind.
This event became known as "The Magic Revolt."
The magical creatures that until then were our allies eventually revolted against humans.
This revolt brought several deaths, decimating more than half of all life on the planet. Leaving only a few survivors.
1 year has passed since then, the main country that humanity chooses to grow back in is Japan.
Why just japan? Simply put, Japan was one of the few countries that was little hit. People around the world have decided to move to Japan in search of a new life.
Other people chose to stay in their home country and survive in chaos.
Little did the old and new citizens of Japan know that another attack would be made.
After one year since the Magic Uprising, humanity sought to grow again, for a year peace reigned in Japan until they arrived.
Japan was attacked by the creatures surrounding the country. Humans at that time could only use weapons from that time, weapons known as << Firearms >>
Weeks of endless battle passed when a series of events that mankind claims to be miraculous took place.
I know nothing about this miraculous event because the root of this event is kept secret.
The only thing I know is that it has something to do with the religion of the people, the Great Moon. Many citizens are devoted to the moon.
I am not a devotee, I know nothing about the history of the moon.
I only know that after the 'miraculous' events an association was born which today is known as << Moon Hunters >>
They are an association created to help our people, only they are able to clash with magical creatures of the highest level of power.
I have learned that the government is keeping an eye on them, more specifically, keeping an eye on their weapons. They say the secret of Hunters' power lies within the sword, but they cannot substantiate this theory until they have their own weapon.
How do I know all this? Well, first I'm a detective, one of the best in the department, my name is Lloyd Blackburn, I'm 23 and for my age, I'm already respected by many.
59 years have passed since the "Invasion". And yes, humanity has survived, but we are in an endless battle against magical creatures that seem to have no end.
In these 59 years the technology we have evolved yes. But we are evolving very slowly compared to the data from before the "Invasion".
Huge walls were built around huge cities, we live in one of those cities.
The war against the monsters seems to have no end, for the more you kill, the more they appear. As if they were a plague.
Hunters are the ones who protect our lives outside the walls.
The detective department handles cases from within the walls.
Over the years a flame of hope arose for humanity in the midst of this war.
More highly skilled hunters are springing up around the world. This motivates me to want to keep moving on with my work.
In the last few weeks things within the department have been a little troubled over a simple girl.
A few years ago the government discovered a girl who was born with a disease that caused paralysis in her entire body.
At 9 years old the child overcame the disease, she could walk without using the wheelchairs.
This shocked a lot of people, but soon found that the child still had the disease inside him but was being controlled, but for some reason the child's doctor said the disease could come back at any time, and if the disease comes back, it can come back with full force and end up killing the child or even causing a cerebral palsy.
The government planned to test the child until they found out that the disease still lives inside.
Time passed, the child grew up healthy, today she must be about 16 years old.
According to the child's doctor, she still has the disease inside her. To this day it is unknown why she survived for so many years.
How do I know so much about this child? Well, 2 years ago I was in charge of this mission, watching over it.
Watching her is easy, the month's report on her life is always the same, I watch her once a week for just 4 hours. She is literally a normal girl living a normal life.
I think I just forgot to say the child's name, her name is Emilia Baldric.
Watching her sometimes is embarrassing, especially when she goes to take a shower, although I have a duty to watch her, I need to respect her at least at those times. So I go out for half an hour and come back.
However, watching over Baldric is not something I take seriously, I consider it a side mission compared to other things I have a duty to face.
As I said before, I am one of the best professionals in my department and almost every single day I have to work on supernatural cases.
Often supernatural cases happen within the walls. What irony, no? The wall that should keep us from monsters serves no purpose but a decoration.
While the Hunters are out there putting their lives on the line for the sake of humanity, me and my entire department are here inside the walls waiting for some big case, something that will make everyone recognize us.
I stand in front of my department building. As soon as I open the door there is a corridor, at the end of the corridor there is a door, from the door appears a young girl, she was my partner, her name is Rose, she was the one who accompanied me on my missions.
She was crying and running towards me.
Rose - LLOYD THEY PUT ME OUT OF THE DEPARTMENT !!!…
Lloyd - WHAAAAT?!!!…
After a long conversation with Rose, we finally calmed down and sat on a bench.
Lloyd - let's try it one more time. You were saying you were called in the president's office, and…?
Rose - He said he wanted to have a serious talk with me. He screwed up a lot but he said "we'll be transferring you to another department." like this, no more ...
Lloyd - this is very boring…
Rose - and they still had the audacity to have already chosen my replacement even before they dismissed me.
Lloyd - uh… what do you mean? How can he? Who did he choose?

He slaps my shoulder and returns to his desk.
The girl in front of me was Baldric. She was staring at me and I was staring at her with a frightened look.
