Part Two

"Have you found anything yet?" Chaos asked.

Ilang oras na kami naghahanap ng posibleng ebidensiya. So far, the only evidence we found is the Methyl Bromide na siyang pinanggamit para patayin ang biktima.

"We found nothing. The suspect is really good at hiding these evidences." Matix answered.

Tinignan ko ang kabuoang kwarto. Nothing seemed suspicious. The killer is really skilled in hiding evidences—

"You're wrong." Biglang sambit ni Chaos.

Lahat kami ay napatanga sa kaniya. "What?" Matix asked.

"As I said, every criminal leaves a trace. We just have to find proper evidences." Anito.

"Have you found one?" Tanong naman ni Effie.

Tumango si Chaos. "This liquid spray.." inangat nito ang water spray na nasa malapit na table, "something seemed odd about this."

"Anong kakaiba diyan? It seems normal." Komento ko.

Chaos shook his head. "A normal liquid spray has no color but this one, it's darker. It's like it has been mixed with something dark." Sambit nito saka inisprayan ang lamesa.

Much to our shock, a hand print was shown at the table. It was Chaos's hand. "Is that thief detection dust?" Manghang tanong ni Matix.

Chaos nodded. "Our victim here realized that she's being followed by a stranger so she bought a thirf detection dust and spread it around the hotel room."

I interfered. "Teka, ano yang thief something powder?" Tanong ko. Eto na naman sila, nagsasalita ng mga bagay na hindi ko alam.

"It's Thief Detection Powder. It is an invisible powder but once touched, it gets visible in your hands or feet. It's used to identify thieves or murderers." Sagot ni Chaos.

"This may be a strong evidence! We need to spray the floor with the liquid spray to find footprints of the killer."

"But it might be smudged already. Ilang tao na ang nakapasok na hotel room na ito." Komento ni Effie

Chaos tuned out Effie and continued spraying on the floor. He sprayed near the bed kung saan natagpuan ang katawan. No footprint came up. Baka siguro nasmudge na nga iyon. He then sprayed the bedside table and to our surprise, may nakasulat doon.

"Another code?" Effie asked.

"Susan must've wrote it before she died." Matix said.

"That's too easy." Ani Chaos at humarap sa akin. "Give me your phone."

Kumurap ako. "Phone ko? Bakit?"

He lend out his hand. "Just give it to me."

I reluctantly gave him my phone. He went to my keypad and wrote something on his notepad.

"These numbers symbolizes the letters in a keypad. 999 means Y. If you press 9 three times in a keypad, you get Y." Chaos explained.

We then reached an answer "Yarn".

"Yarn?" I asked.

"Anong ibig sabihin nito?" Tanong ko kay Chaos.

Chaos carressed his chin before facing us. "We need to find a yarn in this hotel room—"

"Like that yarn in the door?" Effie suddenly asked while pointing to the door.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. "Oo nga." I added. Hindi ko napansin iyan kanina. Sa unang tingin ay aakalain mong disenyo lang ito sa pinto.

Chaos walked towards the door and analyzed the yarn. Ang yarn ay nakaipit sa doorknob kaya tagong-tago ito.

Nilapitan ko na rin siya at inobserba ang paligid. I checked the whole surroundings from the doorknob until below the cabinets beside the door. Sa ilalim ng cabinet ay may isang scissor at yarn.

That's when I realized the whole situation!

"I knew it!"

"I knew it!"

Sabay naming sambit ni Chaos.

Chaos urged me to continue so I spoke. "The killer used a yarn to tie it on the doorknob inside. Pagkatapos niyang gawin ang krimen, tinali niya ang yarn sa doorknob sa loob para isara ito mula sa labas. Using a scissor, he cut the yarn and used the tape measure to bring the scissors back inside the hotel room." I deduced.

A menacing smile appeared on Chaos's lips. "You're right. I sprayed the liquid spray on the yarn and there are hand prints of a man. We can let Matix do his work to identify the person."

Maingat na inabot ni Chaos ang yarn kay Matix and then he did his work to identify the owner who the hand prints. Wala pang ilang minuto ay nahanap na ito ni Matix.

"I found it. His name is Yuan Dela Cruz. Apparently, he is Susan's ex boyfriend." Matix answered.

Chaos nodded. "Let's leave this all to the police. We did our part." Anito.

"I'll call my dad." Ani Effie at tinawagan ang ama sa phone.

After minutes, bumalik sa Effie mula sa pagkakatawag. "My dad and his men will arrive in a few minutes. Kasama na ang ilang detectives to re-analyze the scene."

Chaos shook his head with crossed arms. "I can't believe we did amazingly than the true detectives."

I frowned. "Huwag ka ngang mayabang."

Tumingin sa aking si Chaos. "What? It's true. Nahanap natin ang killer. It was supposed to be the detectives' job but we did first. That makes us geniuses!" He smiled inwardly.

Umiling nalang ako.

Then someone knocked on the hotel room door. Hm, dumating na si Chief Cruz? Pero di naman nila kailangang kumatok. They can always enter since they are the police.

Tumayo ako. "Ako na."

I opened the door but no one was there. Instead, a letter was lying on the floor. Pinulot ko iyon at pumasok ulit. "Guys, may letter sa labas ng hotel room." I informed.

"Read it." Chaos casually said.

"But it's addressed to Chaos." I looked at Chaos. May bahid itong pagkagulat sa mukha.

"Ako?" Chaos asked.

Binigay ko ang letter sa kaniya. He read it aloud.

I learned how to commit a perfect crime thanks to you, Chaos. Good bye. See you soon. -X

Huh? "How did he learn how to commit a perfect crime from you?" Effie asked.

"Remember the time we cleaned up a body from the library? Sinabi ko ang basic rules on how to commit a perfect crime." Chaos answered.

Matix interfered. "Isa lang ang ibig sabihin non..."

Chaos nodded. "X was watching us that time."

There was defeaning silence between us. X was watching us that time? But from where? I'm sure we were alone.

"Wait, ang ibig sabihin ba nito, si X ang pumatay kay Susan? Sa isang inosenteng tao?" Effie asked.

Chaos was about to answer when the chief entered with some police and detectives. Lumapit ito sa amin. "We already catched the culprit. He admitted to his crimes. Thank you for helping us, guys. I will send the reports tonight kaya magpahinga na rin kayo."

"Wait, nasaan ang suspect?" I asked.

"Nasa baba. Sa loob ng police car. Kakausapin niyo ba?"

"Are we allowed?" Chaos asked.

"Sure. Pero kailangan may kasama kayong police." Anito.

Umalis na kami ng kwarto at bumaba para kausapin ang "suspect".

If X is the killer, then we are sending an innocent to jail.

Pagkababa namin, we headed straight to the police car. Nakaupo doon ang ex boyfriend ni Susan na may pagkabahala sa mukha.

"Yuan Dela Cruz?" Chaos called.

Tumingala sa amin ang lalake. "We know you are not the killer—"

Marahas na umiling ang lalake. "No, ako ang pumatay kay Susan! Ako!"

Chaos placed his hands on his pockets. "No. We know you are innocent. Bakit pinagpipilitan mong ikaw ang pumatay sa ex girlfriend mo?"

Yuan's lips were trembling as he speak. "H-He...He said I should...tell the police that I killer her...kung h-hindi ay papatayin niya a-ang pamilya ko.." anito.

"He? Who's he?" Matix asked.

Yuan shook his head. "I don't know. He had a mask on noong nagusap kami nang personal." He answered.

"Did he tell his name?" Effie asked.

"No but he address himself as X."

We all sighed. After the beast, looks like we have to deal with another villain.
