White trickled down from the sky. One would think the crystals made out from water would lay peacefully and quietly down on the ground out on this deserted woodlands, but the humans occupying earth had other thoughts. A snowflake dragged 6,500 feet down by gravity lands on the iron sight of a Howa 64. The Japanese produced assault rifle sat firmly in the grip of Charles Berglund. Looking down the iron sight were piercing blue eyes, scanning the environment for any movements. The young face did not match the appearance of a soldier or being able to carry a gun at all, but the eyes staring down the sight would make people reconsider their first impression.

"Ugh, when are these Nazi shits gonna be here." A boy slightly older then Charles whispered into his own Howa 64 in Russian. The question was obviously directed towards Charles, but he choose to ignore commenting on the situation. The slightly older boy named Yash cut his focus away from the iron sight and instead placed it on Charles. In Yash's vision he could barely see Charles at all, the snowwhite camoflague wear that they both had on bleneded in perfectly with the white surroundings. The only things that stood out was the Howa 64 and a streak of blond hair popping out from Charles's winter hat. Yash sighed because of the concentrated youth.

"You know, tomorrow is gonna be 20 years ago Stalingrad fell, I was only born 7 months later, right after they took Muscovy." Yash was looking for a response from his squad buddy, but only received a slow and single nod.

In fact Charles knew all this, he knew when Stalingrad fell, when the Soviet Union fell, when the British Empire capitulated and when The United States had signed a peace deal with the Japanese and German forces. As Yash got bored of Charles refusal to start a conversation he went back to looking down his iron sight. The one this Yash did get Charles to do was think more about how the world was divided up. Charles had seen a world map just a week ago, the former Soviet Union was split between Japan and Nazi Germany. The two countries divided the Soviet Union by the Yenisei River. This deal had only lasted 15 years before the border was in conflict and the Japanese found themselves dissatisfied with the land they got. In 1959 war broke out between Nazi Germany and Japan. Countries as Italy and National Spain did not join the war as war exhaustion was too much and they had a hard time getting back on track since they barely reclaimed any land from the victory 16 years prior. Nazi Germany also controlled most of old Europe, everything from the north to the south. There were only some countries left to spare, such as Hungary and Romania.

As for why Charles was holding a Howa 64, waiting for Nazi German soldiers was because his parents escaped through the northern border to the Soviet Union from Norway when the Nazi German Fallschirmjäger came raining down. They traveled to the eastern part of the Union not knowing that in the future war was coming to the Soviet Union as well.

Being born January 19th, 1946 in a town called Chita, he grew up rather poorly and rough. Having his father working in the mines, Charles father died when he was 10 years old and his mother who was trying to earn enough to keep Charles fed and warm had to get a job. She became a servant for a rich mine owner, when Charles was 12 he looked at the lifeless body of his mother outside the mine owners mansion in the snow. She had been raped and murdered by the mine owner and his buddies that night. Charles only 12 years of age, cried for the last time in his life. He did not even touch the ice cold looking corpse of his mother. He buried her with snow and set off, thinking only of revenge.

Charles' blue eyes scanned the surrounding woodlands, the thoughts that were in his head did not distract him from being focused on the task at hand. The thought of his mother did have a reaction in him, subconsciously he tightened his grip around the weapon.

"Be ready, they are here!" The Japanese lieutenant for the auxiliary platoon Charles and Yash were in, spoke his orders in a hushed Japanese tone.

Shouting could be heard in the distance, the shooting mitten that Charles was wearing twitched on the outside of the trigger. He gently out his index finger through the rectangle and rested his finger on the trigger. The sound of armored trucks equipped with belts were humming from the trees. The sun was barely up at this time of year. So dawn had only been for an hour. The Nazi Germans would probably only have been on the march for an hour. Charles heard the sound of Yash tapping his gun. The tapping was drowned out more and more from the increasing sound of approaching Nazi German forces.

A slight movement was caught by Charles eyes down the iron sight. From the mounds of snow and trees a white helmet popped up. Charles index finger inched closer to the trigger, it was to early to shoot. He spotted more and more movements between the trees and white covered land.

Of to the side the Japanese lieutenant was slowly watching the Nazi German troops fill into the scope of platoon. The lieutenant was breathing heavily, he was scared. He was too far away from home, but failure is not an option for the people wearing the flag of the rising sun.

"Mein offizier, verstärkungen sind bald über den Fluss" A German voice was heard shouting, this prompted the Japanese lieutenant to take action.

"Fire!" The lieutenant pulled the trigger.

Flashes were spewed out of the nuzzle of Charles's Howa 64. A rain of bullets were directed towards the Nazi German troops. The white camouflaged uniforms were instantly punctured and blood splatter from the inside staining the white fabric with red dots.

"Feinde, feinde!!!!!!" German words like these were being shouted among the Nazi German ranks. Charles burst fired his assault rifle at the many white targets trying to take cover from his platoons deadly attacks. Charles modified ammunition magazine of 28 rounds was depleted only after 10 seconds of firing. He took cover behind the snow mound that he was laying on and prepared to change his ammo magazine for a new one. He cast a quick glance towards the rest of his platoon. Yash was looking at him grinning, also needing to change magazine. The wild look in his eyes, told him that he enjoyed the bloodshed that was going on. A Sumitomo 62 machine gun, mounted on a fallen tree was being used to hail a wall of death upon the Nazi German soldiers. A soldier from Charles platoon was aiming a GRL-4 at one of the armor trucks. The soldier fired, the tank piercing grenade was sent flying away from the weapon.

Charles got up on the mound again to see the destruction of the anti-tank weapon. The rocket propelled grenade flew straight into an armored truck creating an explosion lifting up nearby Nazi German soldier away from their crouched position, scattering them all over with torn limbs or heavily shaken by the shock-waves. Charles opened fire again, trying to catch out troops that weren't in cover. His blue eyes scanned the battlefield, he spotted a young face, a Nazi German soldier. Crying, the soldier was holding his HK 32 close to his chest. Without blinking Charles pulled the trigger with the crying soldier in his iron sight.

The bullets penetrated his nose and neck and ripped of his cheek, completely maiming the Nazi German soldier face. The soldier slumped down still holding the rifle and vanished out of sight. Charles scanned for new targets on the battlefield. The battle had only gone on for 30 seconds, but the Nazi Germans were organized enough to begin countering Charles and his platoons attack..

Bullets were starting to hit the mounds were Charles and Yash were laying on. Snow was flung in the air with dirt and rock that was covered underneath. Pulling back behind cover Charles was holding tightly onto his Howa 64. The stench of gasoline burning started to fill his nose, the same with fresh blood. The whistling sounds of bullets passing by overhead drowned the screams ringing out in the forest.

Looking for an opportunity to release more bullets from his gun Charles looked for his other platoon members for covering fire. As Charles was gonna shout the Japanese lieutenant shouted:

"Give covering fire to the left flank, pin these Hitler bastards down!"

Charles was thankful that the Japanese lieutenant was competent in his role and had surveyed the battle to give correct orders, as the platoon headed the order a whistle with a lower frequency sound-wave was picked up by Charles sharp ears.

"Grenade Launcher!" A voice ringing our from Charles right could be heard, a black object, a 40mm grenade landed by the mound of the lieutenant. With color being drained away from his face and the nearby soldiers it went off...
