Ch-14 Get Together ( 2 ) Edith and Twins

" Louis , you know you are very cute and handsome but you don't know how to lie,''

Louis looked up at her and asked nervously," Huh? I don't lie , aunt ,".

Edith chuckled and said calmly," I'm not that old baby, My name is Edith, I'm Grandpa Robin's Daughter, you can call me by my name or Ed or Edie but please don't call me Aunt,". 

Louis frowned and looked at Robin in confusion and then at Edith and said," But It's bad manners to call elders by their name , Dad told us to respect every elder,".

Ethan's eyes widened when he heard that, he had always thought that his kids had never paid attention to his words as they were so naughty. But then he smiled upon the realisation that at least there is something they had paid attention to. 

Edith smiled again and said," Hmm, that's right we should always respect elders, your Dad is not wrong so..," before she could say anything else she heard Maria's voice," My dad is never wrong, pretty lady,". 

Ethan looked down at his daughter in surprise and then at Edith who was looking at them, Edith turned around when she heard that sweet voice and saw Maria on Ethan's lap she giggled and said," Come here Maria , come sit with Louis,". 

"Ed, this," right at this moment Leo came back with a first aid kit and passed  it to Edith and took a seat there. 

Maria looked at her father then jumped from his lap and walked towards Edith and Louis. She tried to climb the table but it was too long for her so Edith helped her and put  her on the table beside Louis. 

Edith looked at Maria and said," Cutie let me talk to your brother first,". Maria nodded and then Edith looked at Louis and said," So, let's do one thing Louis , let's become friends and then you will not have to worry about me being an elder and you can call anything , right Maria,".

Maria nodded and said in a cheerful voice," Right, Brother let's become friends with Pretty lady, she is so beautiful and sweet she also helped you,". 

Edith laughed and said," I like you, you are very good at complimenting others, so then are we friends now?," 

Louis looked at his sister and saw how eager she was to become friends with Edith so he nodded and said," Yes, I will call you Edie , I like this name,".

Maria pouted cutely and said," But I like Pretty lady,". 

Edith touched her cheek and said,'' I also like being called Pretty cutie but not every time friends don't call each other like this,''.

Maria said," Ok then I will call you pretty Ed, I like this,".

Leo laughed and said," You should call her Annoying Ed,''. 

"Leo, don't," came the strict voice of Robin and Leo shut up immediately.

Edith smiled helplessly and said," Fine, your wish is accepted,''.

After that she looked at Louis and said," So tell me the truth Louis, where did you get hurt, I know you did, don't lie to me because friends don't lie to each other and always share everything,". 

Ethan and everyone frowned when they heard this and looked at Louis , on the other hand Louis pursed his lip and his eyes turned misty and he looked down on his knees but didn't say anything. 

Edith followed his way of line and saw him staring at his knees, she smiled and held his legs and removed his shoes.

Ethan frowned and said," Uhm! Dr. Wood , he doesn't like being touched by others, let me help, do you think he is hurt on his legs?,". 

But Edith didn't stop and said without turning," I can do it, I don't think he is uncomfortable, I can see it, I think he is hurt on his knees,". After saying that she folded his jeans upwards and saw red bruises on both of his knees, and blood on it. 

Ethan stood up immediately and walked near them while Maria said in fear," Daddy blood, brother is hurt,''. 

Edith looked at her and then at Ethan who was already standing beside her," Don't panic guys, just a little bruises, it's normal to get hurt , I'll just put an ointment on it,''. 

Ethan calmed down a little and sat down near Maria, while Edith opened the first aid kit and pulled out an antiseptic gel and ointment and some cute band aids. 

Just as she was about to clean the blood she saw Louis's tightly shut eyes and fists as if he was fighting an urge to cry so she said ,'' If you want to cry , do it,". 

Louis opened his eyes when he heard her and stared at her with tears. He was really scared of the antiseptic because it would badly sting on the bruise, Maria frowned and said," But my brother is strong , and strong boys don't cry, Pretty Ed,''. 

Louis also nodded and said in a heavy voice," I'm a strong boy, just like my Dad,''.

Edith frowned and turned towards Ethan and glared at him and said," Oh, like your dad,'' Ethan was about to say something in defence but Edith ignored him and looked at Louis. 

Edith held Louis one hand in her left hand and said while cleaning his wound,'' Its will sting a little, by the way Louis and Maria, you know what I have a godson Mike , he is your Grandfather Stefan's grandchild, and I have lived with him for 3 years and I have seen him crying whenever he got hurt and he is very sacred of this cream because it sting, but this doesn't means he is not strong, he is very strong, when he was born he was very weak but still he fought for his life and now he is very healthy , and not only him even me, whenever I got hurt I would cry and release my pain, and I can bet everyone present here have cried in their life and become more strong and even your Dad, crying doesn't make you weak it makes you more stronger than ever, and there is nothing like ' Boys don't cry ' anyone can cry ,". After that she put an ointment on the bruises and showed 2 cartoon printed band aid to Louis and asked," Which one ?,". 

 Everyone was silent when they heard Edith's words, Grandpa Lucas smiled brightly and whispered to Grandma Rachel," I was right ! No one is better than Edith for Ethan and kids , she has the ability to love them without any greed, she will love kids as they are her own,". 

Grandma Rachel just nodded but didn't say anything , on the other hand , Louis was staring at Edith with tears and said," This one," Edith nodded and put that band-aid on his bruises, just as she looked up at him Louis hugged her tightly by her neck taking her off guard, not only her but also everyone, specially Ethan. 

Edith wrapped her arms around Louis and looked at everyone with awkward gaze, Louis started to cry on her arms while saying,'' Thank you Edie, my friend said boys don't cry because they are strong and especially I should not cry because I don't have mother and I have to protect my dad and Maria from bad people or else they both leave me like mom did, I'm scared of this bad cream this hurt, Hu! Hu! Hu!, my knees hurt, tell me if I cry will dad and Maria leave me like mom,". 

Edith's eyes widened when she heard this and looked at everyone with a concerned expression, Ethan expression darkened when he heard this, Louis and Maria never shared anything like that, he was getting angry that anyone said something like this to them and involving Emmy was too much for him and kids. 

James said in anger," What the hell, whose kid said that to him, I will not leave him,". 

Alice tried to calm him down and said," James, calm down, we will deal with this later,". 

While they were talking Edith hugged Louis tightly and said," No one will leave you Louis, and if someone tries to leave my friend I will kick and punch them , you know I'm good at fighting, and your father and Maria will not leave you , they love you very much, right Mr. Smith,". 

Ethan controlled his anger and said," Louis , you I love you, I will never leave you, never ever,". 

Louis stopped crying and turned to look at Ethan and said," Promise,". 

Ethan nodded and said ," Promise,". 

Edith put Louis back on the table and said," Now stop crying, and go play with Maria,".

After that she turned around and said to everyone in an apologetic tone," I'm really sorry everyone, I will just go and fresh up quickly and come ,". 

Joyce smiled and said," Don't worry Ed,  you go and freshen up, I can see you are tired,".

Edith smiled and walked towards Joyce and hugged her tightly and said,'' I really missed you Jo, we really need to catch up, I'm sorry I didn't even call you all these years, you are not angry at me are you ?,". 

Joyce hugged her tightly," No way Ed, you are my precious baby, I can't be angry with you, I know you left for good, and now you're back so we have  plenty of time to catch up, I really need to know how you are doing,". 

Maria came towards them and said with pout," Grandma, but you said I'm your precious child,".

Edith laughed and said," Little angel, you are her precious granddaughter and I'm her precious goddaughter,".

Maria again asked," How ?,''. 

Edith bent on her knees and said," Your grandmother and my mother used to be best friends and that's how I became her goddaughter,". 

Maria smiled and asked," But your mom is grandma Suzie and my grandma's best friend was grandma Jane, so how ?,''. 

Edith looked at everyone and then at Ethan and thought,"  she really is his daughter ," . 

Ethan looked at his daughter and said," Maria ," but before he could say anything Edith interrupted him while saying," No problem Mr. Smith , I don't mind, let me clear her confusion,".

After that she sat comfortably on the grass and said," You are right Maria, but I'm also right, you grandma Jane was also my mom and your grandma Suzie is also my mom,".

Maria also sat on the ground and Louis also joined them with interest , they both looked at each other with wide opened eyes and then said in unison," Two-Two moms,"

Edith and others chuckled at their cuteness and Edith," Yes, two-two mom,".

This time Louis asked," How? Our teacher told us that every child has one mother and one fathers, then how do you have 2 moms, do you also have 2 fathers?,".

*Cough**Cough* 

Robin choked on his saliva and looked at both the kids and said in a sullen expression," No, I'm her one and only father kiddo, she is only my daughter,". 

Edith laughed loudly and said," Relax dad,". 

Ethan was so embarrassed that he wanted to dig a whole and jump on it, his kids were just too much, James came towards and said,'' They are really too much bro, what type of question was that,". But Ethan just glared at him.

Edith stopped laughing and said," My first mom is Mom Jane who gave birth to me , don't get confuse kids, I mean, I was in the her tummy but my second mom is your grandma Suzie and she raised me just like how your father is doing,  understand now, My first mom was your Grandma Jane and my second mom is your Grandma Suzie,". 

Maria again asked," Where is Grandma Jane? Why is she not here ?,". 

Edith took a deep breath and said while looking at the sky," She became a star, come look, that star is my mom, look how brightly that star was smiling,". She said while pointing at one star, Louis and Maria looked at each other and then at then at the star which Edith was pointing at. 

Maria looked at Ethan and asked," Daddy , does mommy also become a star?, can we see her?,"

Edith looked at Ethan who was silently staring at them, as if he doesn't know what to say, Ethan never told his kids about Emmy's death nor did anyone else, he didn't want to hurt them at such a young age, so whenever they ask about her he would say, that she has gone for a long vacation. 

Edith noticed his hesitation so she said to Maria," Yes she also become a star, a big and most beautiful star,"

Ethan looked at her with a frown brow, he didn't know what he was feeling at this point, he was angry that Edith told his kids but also was not able to say anything, everyone else got tensed when they heard this , they all were waiting for the kids response. 

And to their surprise they were not sad, rather they were excited when they heard this, Louis and Maria looked at the sky and Louis asked Edith," Where is she ? Is she here ? Is my mom looking at us from the sky ?,". 

Edith pointed at the star and said," That star is your mom, look how brightly it's shining , she is smiling at you,". 

Maria jumped in excitement and said," Hii Mommy, look I'm here and brother is also here," Louis mimicked his sister's action.  

Edith smiled and looked at Ethan who was staring at her, Edith finally smiled at him and blinked while nodding as if saying' I get this '.

Edith looked at Maria and Louis and said," I have a big telescope in my room, we will see her later, but now she wants to sleep , so say her bye and good night ,". 

Maria stopped jumping and said loudly," Good Night Mommy, we will talk later , don't forget me , and also don't forget brother,". Then she looked at Louis who was looking at Edith. 

Everyone was staring at this scene, specially Suzie and Robin as this was reminding them of their old times, when Suzie used to play this trick to calm down Edith and now she is doing the same.

Louis looked at Edith and said," Edie..
