1 The highest point

'The night is ending again'

At the peak of Vella mountain, where the snow is first to make contact with the ground, one of the highest places in the world, a boy sits down at its edge, basking at the beauty of the moon as it bids farewell to the land and sky once again. Taking in the sight of its white light before it disappears into nothingness again.

The boy has always adored this place ever since his first visit here many many years ago. The place where clouds can be touched, where the breeze of the wind is calmest and most soothing to his skin, and where the land is furthest from his reach. More so since this is the spot where he can appreciate the moon and its majesty the most. Just staring at it for hours and hours, forgetting the existence of all things around him, just living in that one moment. The moment that he wishes could pause forever and just be at rest. Not having to worry about anything.

"Farewell once more, my dear friend", the boy says, his tone monotonous yet one can hear it being accompanied by a hint of loneliness. He was about to witness the disappearance of his friend for exactly the 6,650th time in his life. Even though he knew his friend would come back just mere hours from now, he could not help but hide his feelings of dejection at the sight of its goodbye.

Most would find his thoughts and feelings to be weird, and he is fully aware of it. People just tend to love the sun and day more. Who doesn't? The bright and strikingly loud colors signifying the coming of a new day, of new opportunities, and of new moments to share with others. Very few would want to be surrounded by darkness. Wandering around aimlessly, fearing for what might be lurking in the surroundings.

'It's just a matter of convenience, is what it is' the boy thinks to himself. Humans love the day because it grants them their sight. They hate the night because it robs them of it. But he knows that he cannot blame the humans at all. They are simply not like him, nor his kind. Humans simply do not have the vision to see through the infinite layers of darkness like they can.

'I hope they can at least thank my good friend for that though', he sighs inwardly, taking his final glance towards the moon.

As he watches his friend be devoured by the blue of the sky, his attention then turns towards his right side. 'And here you are again', he mutters after seeing the slowly rising hues of orange and yellow at the horizon. The coming of dawn is here.

The sun finally shows itself, its light travels through the earth, marking the land and sea with its presence, devouring everything in its path as it continues its unrelenting pace.

The boy does nothing but simply stare right back at the sun. He remains silent at the top of the mountain, sitting there with a dark robe covering only his backside, buttoned at the front of his neck. Despite his revealing outfit, he does not feel the hellish cold of snow. He then turns his head to his right, still sitting at the peak of the mountain, his left leg dangles at the edge, while his right leg is curved up, serving as a resting place for his right arm. He knows what sunlight would do to his body.

It's just common knowledge for him and his kind.

Yet he doesn't seem to be fazed by it. If anything, he seems to be challenging the light, daring it to touch him. A challenge at which the light seems to accept wholeheartedly, as it continues its assault on the earth.

As it reaches merely a few inches from his face, he finally makes his move.

'To me' he says very quietly, as if not wanting anyone to hear he even spoke at all.

Immediately after saying the word, deep darkness flows through his entire being, covering his body faster than the light could reach him only about a few centimeters away. In an instant, every inch of his form was covered in pure black, outlining his figure perfectly, while his eyes shined a deep red, beyond the black veil surrounding him.

This has become a routine for him, or maybe even a game at this point. Every day he would climb all the way up to the peak of the mountain, gaze at the moon, meet the sun's rise from the horizon, and at the last second, cover himself in darkness before the sunlight touches him.

'I win again it seems' he says to himself with slight proudness. So far, he has always managed to not get scorched by the sunlight ever since he started this little game of his.

A risky move indeed, but he never really cared, nor was he afraid of the sunlight. If anything, throughout the years, he seemed to have developed deep curiosity towards the sun. 'I wonder what it feels like', he would always think to himself. To feel the sunlight on your skin. Would it feel good, he wondered. The humans certainly seem to enjoy it's company. He always wanted to know how it feels like too. That and obviously not get killed by it in a few seconds.

As he continues to sit there silently, his gaze fixated on the sun like how it was on the moon only a few minutes ago, he felt the presence of someone nearby.

"That one was really close!" The voice of a female emerged from behind him.

The highest parts of the Vella mountain was arched towards the east- where the sun rises- and arched very steeply, almost at a perfect ninety degree angle. Because of this, the land of the mountaintop- if you can even call it that- was left untouched by the sunlight during the early morning, when the sun is located at the east.

"Just the usual." The boy sitting at the top of the mountain replied. His voice now turned deeper after enveloping himself in darkness.

"We can't have you dying on us, not now master," The girl continued, "especially not to the damn sunlight. That would be the lamest way for you to go out", she says while chuckling.

The man now stood at the top of the mountain, turning his head around, now fully directing his attention to the girl he is currently having a conversation with.

Despite that the steepness of the mountaintop, the girl was standing straight on the land of the arched mountain. Her arms crossed over her large chest, and her long, dark hair flows through the air, as if being pulled to a dance by the strong wind. She seems to have made herself cozy even in this weather, fully covering herself with a dark robe, similar to the man before he covered himself in darkness.

"You seem quite cheerful this morning, Malena", he says to her, again in a monotonous tone.

"Ehh, not really, you're just your usual grumpy self again master Luci", she replies to him with a wide grin that fully shows her short fangs. Two at the sides on top, and two at the sides below.

The boy known as Luci now began his descent from the top of the mountain. Just like Malena, he was walking straight down the steep land, showing no signs of struggle whatsoever.

As his body escaped the touch of sunlight, down the steep land of the mountaintop, the darkness covering him slowly went away, his red eyes along with it.

Malena stared at him hard, admiring his impressive physique. Her eyes juggling from his head, shoulders, abdomen, even to his crotch area and down to his legs. She made sure to observe every inch of his body as he slowly approached her, practically drooling all over at this point.

"Soooo, listen here...", Malena says as she clears her throat, snapping herself back to reality.

"...since we won't be moving til about an hour from now, maybe you and I can..." she pauses for a bit, now slowly reaching to unbutttoning her robe while talking to him seductively.

"...get a little bit more comfy?", she finally finishes sentence and manages to unbutton her robe fully, now revealing a deep cleavage, only possible due to her larrge breasts.

Now, any average guy would definitely give into the temptation and take her here and now. However, the man she calls master has dealt with the advances of the opposite sex more than a lot of times, almost always finding the gesture quite annoying.

"I think I've made it quite clear that I'm not interested in you like that...", he tells her.

"..though I can't say that I don't appreciate your honesty and courage. Even though I have rejected your offer a total of 1,786 times from now."

Now, any average a female getting rejected by a guy she admired should send her crying to her friends or parents, asking what she lacks and why she should be with him, then cry herself to sleep and wake up the next day not feeling motivated to even breathe. However...

"Kyahh! So cuteeeeeee!" was the response he got from her.

"You remember how many times I've tried to get you into bed with me?! Ohhhh! How truly amazing. This is truly one of the best moments of my life! Good fucking morning world!" she screamed wildly, while salivating on the ground.

Now, any normal vampire would not say "good morning", for very obvious reasons. Which is why when one says it, it is with the intention of having conveyed something so mind blowing and so unbelievably good, that it enters the realm of impossibility.

It is simply just that good.

Malena continues her victory scream, while jumping up and down in pure joy.

'You really haven't changed at all'. Luci was used to this, and while he did find her to be obnoxious the first few months after they met, he's grown quite fond of her, and even felt happy that she somehow never changed and kept a positive attitude almost always. He liked and respected that about her.

"Ohhh! Just seeing you try and run from me whenever I chase you and ask you for my 'services', just does inexplicable things...", she continues to speak, in a very sensual way while slowly reaching down inside her pants.

"Hmmm, master, just a bit pleasee...", Malena says, practically moaning out loud by now.

'Now this part isnt good', Luci thinks to himself.

But before Malena could advance further, and put her wicked thoughts into action, the duo suddenly felt a presence coming from the east, instantly turning their heads into the direction.

'We got company'
