3 The Doctor's Friend : 1

Ankit's POV:

I felt nervous.

Blood really made me uncomfortable.

I took a sideways glance looking for mental support, but, Tanya seemed absolutely cool with the bloody mess.

How many stitches?  She asked nonchalantly.

Five and counting . May be two more.... Let's see.

The guy was probably a trainee doctor. He was young and sweet. I always prefer the senior doctors but this was the nearest clinic to us and the fastest way to help Ma'm.

Survi Madam was suggesting to rush Radha Madam to the nearby hospital, but Tanya being a local had other views.

There's a new Multispeciality Clinic with Emergency facility down the street. Why waste time? Let's get this mess cleared first, the rest can be taken care of, eventually.

She did make sense.

Actually, Tanya always made sense.

She was too practical.

And she was always right.

The Emergency was empty and the attending doctor was superfast.

Everything was perfect.... The choice of clinic, the medical attention, the ambience.... Perhaps I was the only misfit here.

I hate to admit, but blood makes me sick and the smell of medicines make  me nervous.

I could feel my stomach churning and bile rising my throat.

I felt salt in my mouth.

But the carefree attitude of Tanya was bothering me.

IF SHE CAN, WHY CANT I????

You really look miserable. If you have haemophobia, you may step out Bro.

I silently nodded and rushed out, mentally thanking the doctor for his observation.

It seemed like ages since our arrival. But in reality it was just ten minutes. Unfortunately my stability was already stretched to the limits.

Thanks, yeah. Perhaps....well....

That's all I could mutter before rushing out. Gone was my chance of impressing Tanya.

May be not puking in front of her could  keep a tiny bit of hope alive!!!

Only after feeling cold water on the face I felt my nausea subsiding. It felt embarrassing rushing out like a coward, but I simply couldn't handle the sight.

I decided to wait in the lobby.

All my chivalry and heroism now gone, I slumped on the nearby chair, cursing my haemophobia.

Tanya....

It was then I saw the young man sitting casually in the opposite chair and reading some random magazine.

As our eyes met, he smiled....
