4 The Feel

The land is so beautiful, filled with snow and the smell was so refreshing. Nana was standing out having a cup of tea. Nana is the woman that I inspire the most. Such a sweet smile, dusky skin, and her hair are still long and black as ebony even her face is full of wrinkles. A mother of four and my mother was her only child stays far from Nana.

I turn and looked at Nana, as she smiled. " Go on dear, the land is ours, and feel free to explore nature as you need to learn to love it as your destiny is here". Her words I have no idea what she meant, but for now, I just wanted to play and dance in the snow.

As my little feet bring me into the woods, out of a sudden, a huge animal, looks like a dog but I'm sure it is not cause it's extremely huge, stands out of my way. "Run!", the only thing cross my head but before I could it jumps on me and its nose touched mine….as a feeling of belonging runs warm inside me…

The sound of loud thunder wakes me up. My eyes were wide awake. I then realize that it was another day with a bad dream. I could not really remember what happened after that/ The dream was blurry. I was thinking why am I getting weird dreams for the past two months. Nana told me that they found me collapse in the woods. It seems that the incident was hunting in my dream. I tried to think hard, but it seems that I could not remember anything at all. Even the visualize in my dream, I could not click into my memory. It seems that I am getting the same nightmares repeatedly. I turned out and looked out the window. The raindrops hit heavily to the ground. The skies were grey as ash.

" Ughhrhhh….. it is another wet day to work…..and I hate to be wet!"

"No worries, dad will drop you out only this week. We plan to head back next week Sherly", a woman in long dressed stand by my door as she winked at me.

"Mom, could you just knock on my door before coming in?"

Christine, a beautiful woman with a graceful look, just like Nana, "but I bet Nana is much prettier than mom when she's young" my mind runs when mom approaches me.

" Just look at your room dear, full of dream catchers, flute, pictures of moon and wolf, and your job….its fine but the part-time job that you are doing, raising funds for the wolf shelter…just what is wrong with you Sherley? It is all your grandmother's fault that you are too carried away with her attitude as well"….sighs Christine.

" Mom, please…not again in this…you won't understand even I explain …. and please Nana has nothing to do with this. The way I am right now is totally from my own decision. No one influenced me. I had to get ready…it's getting late mom."

I really hate the way mom always blames Nana for everything. I already explained this to her many times. It is just useless. Mom always thinks that I am rebellious ever since I visited Nana. I was personally into the tribe's tradition. I loved the way they are. Their culture is so unique and it has its own beauty. I could not convince mom if she is not aware of this!

It had been almost a month that I was living in Montana. My parents are here for a business trip. The last time they were here was because I was moving into this place. Dad promised that we were going to visit Nana. It seems that out of a sudden he had an emergency meeting. The next day, everyone took off a flight to London. I just sighed as it was helpless. Whenever we planned to visit Nana, it seems that dad always had a reason to cancel it off. It seems that even mom is not bothered by that. I personally felt that dad was making up a reason so that we could avoid visiting Nana.

As I was getting ready, I just stared at myself in the mirror. I look more like Nana, with dark dusky skin. My long hair is thick and black. Many of them envy my hair because of the thickness that I had. The thick eyebrows gave me an advantage. I do not need to use brow liner to shape mine. It was naturally shaped as well. Most of my friends say I look like an Indian. Well, it looks like my Nana's DNA is running hard in me, more than my dad neither my mom. While other siblings look totally different from me. They look more white like dad. Even mom was fairer than me. I do not even care about my features. Moreover, I really love the way I am. Unique and elegant! My personality was different from my siblings. They are more obedient and always stick by my parent's side. However, I am a rebellious as well as an adventurous girl. I really love to spend time in the woods, helping to built shelter for animals as well as raising funds for them. I am happy with the way I am and what I am doing.

I was curious about the weird dreams that I had recently. I did call and share this with Nana. I was about to ask about the tattoo on her hand. I was curious whether does she know Talutah. Only that one dream is still fresh in my mind. It only appears once as well. The other dreams just haunt me back often. I was about to ask her when I meet her. That would be a better opportunity for me to speak up with her. Ever since that dream, I was haunted by the same dream that I just had this morning. When I shared with Nana about the random dream that I always get, she just smiled and ask me to wait. The more I asked, she intend to smile and keep quiet. I also wonder what is her real name. I did try to ask mom, but all she does was avoid my question.

"Sherley! Can you stop bugging me about Nana?", as mom slashes her room door.

That was the last time I asked her about Nana. I even wonder why does she hate Nana a lot. My mom was supposed to cherish her family tradition, instead, she was furious about it.

"You will understand once you see it with your own eyes, and that time the spirits will guide you as well as I will", this is what Nana told me over the phone.

I just sighed after hearing her answer. The random dream I told her, that I was being chased by some creatures. I hope Nana will open up more to me when I asked about Talutah and share the other dream with her!

I hand over a coffee to Theresa, as I smiled and rush to my desk. A whole bunch of pending works needs to be done and settle before the tour.

" What's the rush, Sher?"

That's how most of my colleague calls me.

"Nothing Theresa, just need to keep up with the momentum to finish up this pile, well working in a corporate company teaches me to keep up with the speed of the work as well". As I sighed heavily I bumped into and my papers are flying all over.

"Sorry Darren, my bad for not watching out", as I picked up my papers.

"I'm the one supposed to be sorry darl..my bad I was daydreaming", as he winked at me.

Another trouble in the office, Darren is a nice charming guy, but I had no interest in him. Many of the girls are in the craze with him but somehow he is not my type. He's trying out with me since we were working in the same department and somehow he also knows that I'm not into him.

Haha, I'm glad he did know it!

'Shoot….how can I forget today's meeting with a client out….fifteen minutes and I can make it. Rushing towards the door, I texted Theresa,

'Meet you tomorrow hon…I'm running late to meet a client…will discuss the tour tomorrow…I promise'

The moment I finished up the meeting, it was almost dusk. I jumped on the bed after a nice warm shower. It was an exhausting day. I was really tired. I was relaxing on the bed for a while. It was Friday night. Most of my friends will be hitting on the club but here I am. In my room, enjoying my own company. My Friday night usually will be a late bed day. I will be chilling out myself by watching movies.

Mom and dad flew back to London as dad told that he had to be there regarding his business issues, so yeah…I'm all alone.

I opened up the window and the cold chilly air gently breeze my face and its full moon today! The moon shines brightly with its own beauty….owh…how I miss the times I spend at Nana's house.

Nana lives in the mountain areas, where they are forest nearby and the place is so beautiful. Nana thought me how to play the wooden flute which eventually is my favorite. The sound of the flute really melts me away.

I took the flute and start playing with it, following together with the air breeze. I realize a howling sound and I stopped to play the flute. The howling sound…it belongs to the wolves…and it felt pain deep inside me, were the yearning for love to someone I belong. I start playing the flute blending together with the howling sound as well as the chilled breeze.

A warm breath felt around my spine and I felt as if I've been hugged from the backward. Fingers running around my hips and the smell of wet mud make me turn around with shock, surprises me with nothing.

Strange! It felt like real it was real. I do felt that someone was hugging me from the back. I stopped playing my flute. My heart was pumping heart. Could it be a thief in my home at this hour? I remembered that I had locked my door after I came in. I head towards the main door. I checked and it was locked. I went around my house, checking even in the bathroom.

Hmmph. It seems that no one was in. I slap my forehead. I must be overwhelmed! That might be the reason that I felt that. I switched off my room light. I head towards the window as I grasped some fresh air.

I thud myself on the bed. I was staring at the ceiling. Without realizing it, I was drawning into a deep sleep.

Far from the other side….the deep blue eyes gazed on Sherley, when she was standing by the window.…yearning for her love ...…
