10 Chapter 10

Brett decided to go to a nearby restaurant because they might be late in fetching the kids if he will bring Aly to a far destination.

When they went inside the restaurant, all eyes are on them. Eyes with admirations, a drop-dead gorgeous man and a bewitching woman.

Brett and Aly sat on the side near the window. The waiter moved towards their table and gave them the menu.

"One Hawaiian Rib-Eye Steak for me, how about you, Aly?" Brett asked. "One Crispy Caramel Chicken, please." Aly said and smiled. The waiter was mesmerised with Aly's smile. Brett noticed it and wanted to poke the waiter's eyes that are intently looking at Aly. "How about your drinks, Ma'am?" The waiter asked still his eyes set on Aly. "I want a watermelon shake. Brett?" Aly asked. "A cucumber shake will do." Brett said. "Anything else, Ma'am?" The waiter asked. "That would be all." Brett said seriously. Aly noticed the irritation in Brett's face and she was puzzled. "What did I do?" She asked herself.

Few minutes later, the waiter served their dishes. "Ma'am, this is a Stawberry Rhubarb Cheesecake. It's our best seller dessert." The waiter said placing the plate on Aly's side. Aly creased her forehead. "But I didn't order it." Aly said puzzled. "Don't worry,Ma'am, it's on the house. It was from our boss." The waiter smiled. "Oh, thank you. Give my gratitude to your boss." Aly said. Brett's irritations grew even more. "A while ago, it was the waiter, and now it was even the boss." He said inwardly.

Inside the office, the "boss" was looking at the monitor. CCTVs were installed at different spots inside the establishment so he can see the whole place. When Brett and Aly were entering his restaurant, the latter caught his eyes. Just like his staff, he was captivated by Aly's charm. A devilish grin formed from his good-looking face.

Brett and Aly enjoyed their meal. Aly was over the moon after tasting the dessert. "It's really mouthwatering. Here, taste some." Aly said offering the plate to Brett. "I'm full." Brett said. Aly furrowed her brow. Brett was really annoyed and she was puzzled.

"Is there any problem, Brett?" Aly asked.

"Nothing." Brett replied. "Did I do anything that made you angry?" Aly can't stop herself from asking.

Before she decided to come with Brett, she was hesitant but after talking to Amelia, she made a decision to give it a try. But looking at Brett now, she was bewildered with his attitude.

Aly sighed. Brett noticed it. "I'm sorry. I brought you here as a sign of my gratefulness for what you have done for me last night and here I am, ruining the mood. It's just that there were flies flying around you." Brett said pouting his lips. "Flies?" Aly said puzzled. "But there are no flies here." Aly continued that made Brett smiled. "First, it was the waiter. Second, it was the boss. I'm not sure if there's gonna be the fourth, the fifth, and so on and so forth." Brett said. Aly blushed understanding what Brett is saying. "You're too beautiful, Aly, not only in my eyes, but also to others." Brett continued. "But, you're also a handsome hunk. Look, all the girls around here are looking at this side." Aly said and it was too late to back off. She blushed remembering what she said a while ago. Brett smiled widely. "Am I really a hunk in your eyes?" Brett said very delighted. Aly blushed more. "Let's go, the kids are already out." Aly said to escape from Brett's teasing looks.

"Ma'am!" The waiter called Aly before they could reach the entrance. "Ma'am, this is for you. Our boss saw that you appreciated our dessert a lot so he decided to give another one for you to enjoy at home." The waiter said smiling. "Oh, thank you again." Aly said. " You're always welcome, Ma'am. We hope you'll come back next time. Our boss will greatly appreciate it." The waiter continued. "Don't worry, we'll come back here with our kids." Bret said with his naughty smile. The waiter's jaw dropped. Aly was surprised with Brett's words. She wanted to clear things up but she was pulled by Brett, his hands on her waist. "Poor boss, he lost already even the battle has not yet started." The waiter said to himself.

"What was that?" Aly asked Brett while they're inside the car going to Bluestone Academy. "What?" Brett said innocently. "The "our kids" thing?" Aly said. "I just chase away potential rivalry in the future." Brett said smiling. Aly rolled her eyes. "Rivalry for what?" Aly asked. "Don't be too naive, my dear." Brett said then winked at Aly. "Mr. Navarro, I'm not playing naive here. Im just asking what rivalry are you talking about? He only gave me a free dessert." Aly said a little annoyed. Brett stopped the car and faced Aly and the latter was startled.

"Ms. Aly Andrada, I, Brett Navarro, am going to court you. I don't want any man come near you. So, if I see one, I'm sorry, but I will drive them away from you, no matter what it takes." Brett said seriously.

Aly was surprised. Brett smiled. He snapped his fingers on Aly's face and the latter came back to her senses. "Court me? Why? Why me? Already? You're too fast!" Aly said continuously that made Brett laughed.

"Yes, my dear. You heard it right. I want to court you. Why? Because I like you. Already? Yes, because I don't want to give others their chances." Brett said looking at Aly.

"But it's too sudden. We only met few days ago and here you are, telling me that you'll court me?" Aly said still puzzled.

"Don't worry. I will not rush things. Let's take it one step a time." Brett said.

"But we already kissed." Aly whispered. She thought Brett didn't hear it but to her dismay, he heard it. "I'm sorry about that. It will not happen again unless you'll give me permission to do so." Brett said smiling brightly. Aly redden and then sighed.

She have no choice. Brett didn't gave her time to think. "I'll cross the bridge when I get there." She said to herself.
