{FROM HERE ON STORY WILL BE FROM JENNIFER'S POV}. . . .

~~

17 years later . . .

"Hey, Jennifer, please come home right now. I have something important to tell to you." Mom said on the phone.

"Mom? Is everything alright?" I asked anxiously.

"Yeah. Everything is fine. Just come home, as soon as possible. Ok?" she asked.

Suspiciously i asked "Then why are you whispering Mom? "

"Don't worry about that, just come home." She seemed to be determined to not disclose anything over phone.

"Yeah mom, but really –" Before i finish my words i heard a stern voice saying, "Jennifer Wayne!" leaving me with nothing but to say "Oh, I'll be right there Mom".

As i was ready to disconnect the call i heard her say "Wait!!! Actually, I will be waiting for you in the office...."

Strange feeling creeped in my mind and i felt more suspicious as we never met in office unless its something important.

I hurriedly said, "Alright."

"Ok, bye honey." Mom said before she hanged up the call.

I was sitting in the small cabin downstairs in my mom's office building. I gave the phone back to the secretary, Ms. Wen who was Mom's friend and would watch over me whenever i was in office. While keeping the phone back with her puppy eyes and cute voice she said, "Oh pumpkin pie, I think your mama is going to pick you up soon! You better hurry and get your things packed!!"

"Ok," I said,

"I'll come right back."

"Alright darling, see u soon!" she said and turned back to do her work.

I ran down the hall downstairs where my Essay classes used to be scheduled. I packed all of my things and went back to my mom's cabin, my mom was there filling out some form.

"Hey, mom!" I said, relieved that she is ok. She quickly looked up and shoved the papers that she was filling out in her little brown bag that she carries everywhere.

"Hi, honey." She said, giving her warmest smile while taking me in her embrace.

"What were those paper about?" I asked, looking down at her bag.

Her smile dropped, and I could see that she was trying to put the smile back on. She put one hand on her bag to make sure it was closed.

"Oh, that's nothing, really. Let's go home now." She said and taking me towards the back door to the parking lot.

"Okayyy." I said stiffly, but I could feel that my mom was hiding something from me.
