«Are you done with work?» Julia asks after drying my hair. She's sitting on her knees in front of me, her hands on the mattress.

«Are you in a good mood?» I inquire.

Her eyelashes tremble, her lips are curled upwards.

«Did something happen?»

«Nothing relevant,» she chuckles. «I'm just relieved to have survived my first outing alone.»

«Where have you been?»

«To the library.»

«What an adventure!»

«You have no clue...»

She was so nervous before going out earlier this night. I can't say I don't understand her. She's been taught vampires are beasts who kill everyone they don't like. She's grown up with these prejudices...

«Have you found another book to read?» I ask her.
