2 My Big Day

Zahrah's POV

This is my big day. The day every woman has been waiting for. What other day would a woman call her big day. Her wedding day, as I would like to call my Nikkah, which was the Arabic word for marriage.

Today marks the day I would start to live with the man I love, trust and care for, which I know well enough that he does for me too. The though brought goose pumps to my skin, I wouldn't live with my family anymore but with someone who'd become family to me in an hour or two, wow. This is exhilarating.

Female friends and families came to my room to greet and congratulate me, especially those who weren't sure they would stay for the whole Nikkah.

I was getting my clothes, hair and make-up done, I am the bride, I have to look my very best, and this is my big day, my wedding, my Nikkah after all. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing, I wanted to make the best out of it.

"Zahabia.", I said calling my friend, she was one of my close friends from high school, my only close friend even. She's already married, not too long ago, five months to now. She was the happiest woman in the world on her wedding day.

"Yes, what do you want your highness?" Zahabia said jokingly as she always does, I loved that part of her, always in a happy and cheerful mood.

"Where is Zaydah?" I asked. Zaydah was a very important person in my life and it bothered me so much that she wasn't here, I know she has a lot of things going on but I still wanted to see her, I need her here with me.

Zahabia's face seemed dull for a moment, I knew her reply just with her face expression, "She hasn't arrived yet, you should give her some time, you know."

"I know, I just really want her to be here and I can't help but worry, you know." I said worriedly, she told me before today that she would be coming late to my Nikkah, but I still worry.

"I understand, she'll come, she won't disappoint you." Zahabia assured me.

"I know that, I trust her."

Knock knock

"Who's that?" I inquired.

"It's me sweetheart." My dad responded.

"I think it's time to go and get ready Zahrah, we'll be back." Zahabia stated as she and the other girls couldn't get dressed in the same room my father was. He wasn't their Mahram. Zahabia with some of my high school and college friends who were going to be my bride's maid left to get dressed in the next room.

"Come in dad." I said as my dad came in.

"So, how is my sweetheart doing?" my dad asked on entering the room.

"Very well dad." I replied.

"I'm happy to hear that." He said coming closer to me. "So this is the time I ask you what you from Zayd." My dad asked me as he sat beside me. Zayd was the name of my soon-to-be husband.

"I want a chain necklace with his name on it."

My father left and the girls came back already dressed, the clothes looks like it was made for them, well it was. They all wore baby pink gown which was flare from the knees, their hair was either in hijab or turban, and they looked gorgeous with the dress, shoe and makeup except for Zahabia of course who was slightly different from the rest of the girls as she was my chief bridesmaid. Her gown was a strawberry pink, a darker shade of pink compared to theirs and a little longer, the gown revealed her collar bones, she wore a turban which was the same colour with the gown and she held a flower.

"Zayd sent it to you." She said handing the flower to me. I collected it with a smile and read the note that was placed in it, 'To my love' it said. Zayd is so sweet.

The girls helped me into my cloth after my makeup was done, it was a flowing white ball gown covered in a beautiful designed white lace, the top of the gown was covered in lace except for my cleavage which was covered in only lace, the sleeves were also covered in just white lace, the gown also had a cape which was two times the length of the gown itself. Zahabia helped me in tying my white hijab over my head in a very stylish way with three different beautiful types of fashion pins fitting the whole style. I wore my white platform pump heels.

Staring at the girl in the mirror, I smiled satisfied with my look.

Zayd, be sure to be blown away.

"Girl, you look like a Queen."

"Blow them away girl." My bridesmaids complemented my look.

We wait to be called out and I to be married. I am getting married in a couple of minutes, to Zayd. I felt anxious all of a sudden. I and Zayd would be husband and wife in a couple of minutes, I say it to myself, letting myself know this was really happening.

We were called as we all went, I in the front holding the bouquet of flower gifted to me by my love with Zahabia, my chief bridesmaid right by my side and the six of my bridesmaid right behind us.
