CHAPTER 37: The Rock

Aella couldn't believe what she was seeing. If it wasn't for the pain soaring through her veins from her injured ankle, she would have thought she was having another of her nightmares.

Bane stood at a distance with his large wings spread at either side, his golden orbs boring into her skin.

The moon glowing down on him cast an ominous shadow over the angles of his face which made Aella terrified of what he had in mind to do to her.

It had been him all along.

The legends, myths, fairytales and lullabies. The stories which told a tale of the monstrous creature that could take a life in the blink of an eye.

Malicious, undaunting and merciless. Bane, was what he was called.

A shudder ran down her spine when she realised that she had been in the same room, conversing and even eating from the food the demon had given her.
