1 Chapter One

Ordinary day, ordinary week, ordinary people with ordinary jobs. But then why did that have to happen?. If everyone and everything was normal that day, why couldn't mine be?

Guess it's cause it never was if I really think about it. Nothing was ordinary from the start, I just found out at the dying minutes.

It's not like I want to be normal or do everything like everyone else, abnormal is always more fun than normal... like every movie I know of, the only thing that makes the abnormal bad or not cool is not knowing how to handle it or using it wrongly for stupid desires or even worse. Being controlled.

Things like power, knowledge or better said 'Information' are very important to people, like a first desire. But as a kid, it's usually acceptance.

That used to be all I cared about typically. Mom loved me, Dad wasn't really there. I mean occasionally he's alive and then he's dead as different people. At some point he was just a figment of my imagination, the only resemblance between us was our bright green eyes.

He'd come over sometimes then I'd ignore him. A usual thing really, he'd come over, mom would get angry but then they'd make up, make really weird and loud noises in her room, he'd send me around like a maid. In two months he'd leave till the next year or two. So yeah, easier for me to think he wasn't real.

That wasn't the bad abnormal part my life, that was the cool abnormal kind, like you can control it, but I still wanted to be everything to Mom, make her happier than that imagined person makes her, to make her proud of me, I mean we even look alike.

Same Caramel skin, same button nose, same wide eyes, same black wild hair that can ,thankfully, be straightened, same pouty lips, same smile really. I was unmistakably hers. Yeah, was.

One day, the imaginary man returned and  this time decided to give me a sibling. At least I thought so, but all he really did was try to give himself a child. He is my biological father really but, I guess biology didn't matter to him? Nope, it was cause I'm black.

Honestly this isn't about some racism crap, nope. He just badly wanted a white kid he stayed the entire year with us. I forgot to mention, he's a white American, my mother clearly African American, and they were legally married. So no, not racism.

Mom gave birth to a white kid...my guess is he must have really banged her up, although he's a bit tan, but apparently that was good enough for him. Audrey Knight, that was my brother's name... he's not dead tho, never.

Fast forward to a couple months after. Dad killed mom to get full custody over baby Audrey. Was there a fight prior? None that I heard, and trust me, they weren't subtle people.

Dying Mom-aka love of my life, gives me a gun I had no idea she possessed and told me to kill that bastard, and save my brother.

Let's not overlook a valid point that I was just 10years old at the time. But I wasn't too young to know a dying wish when I saw one. Worse. It had to be her dying wish, my mother died in my little arms while pressing a loaded gun in my hand like it was a perfectly natural and understandable thing to do before dying.

Was it?

Moving on, I did take said gun, and found Mr.Imaginary with baby Audrey on the balcony. I tried to kill him, I really did, honestly I think I did. But I do know his living/dead body beat the crap out of me before I managed to run away with baby Audrey.

The last memory I had of him was him being soaked in his blood from his hair to the side of shoes  and alot of it pooled around him and still staggering and moaning like a vengeful zombie.

Soon enough I remembered Mom was dead, Dad was...well I'm not sure, then all that's left was me and Audrey. Mom was an orphan with many interesting stories so I knew there wasn't any family to go to, and I sure as hell didn't want to be near the Knight family, especially since they were all as distant as Mr.Imaginary.

So I ran with my brother, having no point or direction, no ambition, no desire, no one to help... naturally, the kindest and first  to lend a hand are society's bad guys. I mean, morals and reason went out the window when you kill a baby's mother without valuable reason or give a gun to a 10year old right?

Well they taught me everything I need to know, took care of us, and later on explained to me that said Father of ours body wasn't found but still pronounced dead. But that's the style, that's how he goes off and comes back. Maybe to take away my little brother again? It won't happen, he won't find us and if he does...I will make sure he's dead, I don't care if he's a vampire, a zombie, a fuckin demon... I just know a bullet between the eyes means he's dead. Forever.

But, I guess it wasn't that strong a desire or I was just good at hiding everything that I just ignored it all. He just lingers like a bad memory, and now, everything I do is to keep Audrey safe and happy. Just like Mama said, Audrey loves me and now my only desire is to keep him safe, to shield my baby brother from everything wrong in the world.

Although...my methods aren't exactly normal.

"Listen please, if you could just please wait a week or two I will pay three times as much, I swear to you, please!!!"the old man squirmed under my gun. I cocked my head to side and stared at him.

"You do realize it's your employers that want you dead right?"I said casually... It's not like I'm the one going to get shot.

"You-you're a girl?"he stuttered wide eyed, "look at that, a gift to take to the grave. Any last wishes? I might be able to comply you know"I said pulling off the bandana and glasses covering my face.

"Y-yes! Yes I do!"he beamed, too excitedly for a man about to die.

"56780" that's the code to funds for the new prototype generator thing the company is making. I want it gone, I know that's not enough to save my life since I've seen your face, but make it disappear, give all to charity-"

"Do I look like Santa Claus?"I interrupted,

"Errm, sorry, do what ever you want with it, it's my blood and sweat they want to reap, please, will you please do this for me? Please?!"he begged.

"With pleasure"I said bowing deeply while pulling the trigger.

Once I rose, the generous man had a whole between his eyes.

I knelt in front of him and took out his company ID. "It was nice doing business with you Sir"I murmured and walked to my bike.

Like I said, not exactly normal.

Or maybe it is?
