5 Chapter 05

I laid down on the bed in the infirmary room and put my hands behind my head, wondering what Rex wants from me. As time dragged on, I felt my eyes became heavy and eventually, I closed my eyes to take a nap. Few hours later, I was awaken by a dream. I peeped at my watch and realized it was late. It was extremely late! I can't believe I actually napped for so long. I jumped our from the bed. It was so dark that I accidentally knocked on the table.

"Ouch..! Damn!"

"You're really late." Rex's voice frightened me.

"What the...!" I was stunned. "Why didn't you tell me you're here?!" I exclaimed.

"Well, I am here all the time. You just didn't realized it."

"What do you mean? All the time? I said while trying to balance myself.

"Actually..." He ignored my question." What happened to you yesterday? Answer me..." He stopped. "HONESTLY." He looked serious.

"I... I already told you nothing happened!"

"Yes, something did happened."

"Why do you care so much? Its none of your business anyway!" I got so frustrated and yelled. "Its my business! Not yours... You..."

Without hesitation, he lifted my chin and planted his lips on mine, ignoring my push on his chest. I wasn't strong enough to push him away from me. Few seconds later, He took his mouth away from mine. Before he could speak, I raised in anger. I stamped his feet as hard as I could.

"Damn you! I don't want to see you ever again!" I grabbed my bag and ran away. Tears started to stream down my face.

Why? What does that kiss meant? Is he playing the fool out with me? How could he be so cruel? It my.... first kiss! Urghhh...!!!

~ Rex's P.O.V ~

Why? Is it so hard for her to fall in love with me? Why did I want her so badly? We just knew each other yesterday and she was on my mind the whole night. I could hardly fall asleep. I kneel down on the floor and hit my forehead with my palm.

"Damn..! I bet she hates me now! I whispered.

~ Belle's P.O.V ~

"Belle, what do you think?" April asked. I wasn't really focus on what our conversation was. I was still thinking about his kiss.

"Belle?" April snapped her finger. Again, I wasn't listening. "Belle!" She yelled.

"Huh? What?" I was shocked and stood up.

"Are you ok? You're really pale. Are you sick?" She touched my forehead.

"I am fine."

"You sure." I pulled April out of the classroom.

"What happened?" She asked with an anxious expression.

"He kissed me yesterday."

"Who? Rafe?"

"No... Rex..."

"What? Rex?! She shouted. I closed her mouth and apologized to the students who were looking at us.

"Oh my god! He actually kissed you?!" April was so shocked.

"Ya. Moreover, it was my first kiss." I sighed.

"Why did he kiss you?"

"I have no idea!"

"Ok.. Calm down, Belle... Maybe he likes you..." April hesitated.

"What? Impossible! We just met yesterday!" I exclaimed and walked into the classroom.

After school, I was walking to my locker to take my handphone.

"Hey Belle!" Rafe ran towards me. "Open it when you got home, ok?" Rafe passed me a letter.

"What is this?" I asked.

"You will know once you got home " He smiled. "I got to go. See you tomorrow. Bye!"

"Bye!"

"I wonder what's this letter was about." I looked at the letter with curiousity. I opened my locker and another letter fell from my locker. I looked at the name and it was from Rex. What does he want again. If he wants to apologize, I am definitely not gonna forgive him.

I looked at both the letter curiously. Should I read it? Wait! Why shouldn't I? After all, it's for me right? I opened Rafe's letter and read.

['To, MaryBelle..

Belle? I had a crush on you since the day I met you at the party. Can you be my girlfriend? This is my first time asking a girl. Please accept me!

"Ahhh..! I shouted.

"What happened?" April came rushing out from the toilet with her towel.

"Rafe.... Rafe..." I choked

"Why?" She walked up to me and snatched the letter from my hand. She started reading it out loud. "Wow! I didn't know Rafe was so outdated. He actually wrote you a love letter." April giggled. "Rafe is a nice guy. Maybe you could try it out with him." April smiled.

"What? No way!"

"Why?" April asked.

"Because... Because... Heather warned me not to! Not sure whether its her, though it sound like her." Suddenly, my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Belle! Dad.... Dad...." Heather shouted.

"What? What happened to dad? I asked nervously.

"Dad is at the hospital! Come now!"

"Ok! I will be there right away!"

"What happened, Belle? You looked pale."

"My dad is in the hospital now.." I took my jacket and ran out from the apartment. I took a cab to the hospital.

I walked to a corridor where there's many operations theater and saw mum and Heather. They were holding each other's hand.

"Mum... What.happened to dad?" I asked in a choked voice.

,"Your dad got stabbed by a robber." Mum cried. I was shocked. How could it be? Why.. What...

"W... Where is dad now?"

"In there, fighting for his life." Mum pointed at one of the operation theater. Tears stream down my face and I could barely talk. Why does things have to turned out like this? Why does unfortunate things happened around me?

"It's all because of you!" Heather ran towards me and push me while crying.

"It's all because of you! Dad went to withdrawed his money from the bank but then a robber demanded that he wants the money. Dad refused to give him the money and he was stabbed. He wants to give you the money and make sure you're doing fine in April's place. He loves you so much! Yet you ran away from home and made him worried about you! If anything happens to dad, I will never forgive you! You such a unfortunate bitch!" She slapped me. I couldn't and I don't have the right to stop her because she's right. I am the one who caused dad to be stabbed. I will never forgive myself either.

"Heather, enough... Its enough..." Mum walked towards me.

"Belle, because of you... Your dad was so depressed after you left the house. She stopped. "I... I shouldn't have given birth to you. I regretted it so much." Mum cried out. What? What did mum just said?

"Belle, leave. You're no longer my daughter anymore." Mum cried. I stared at her unbelievingly.

"Mum.. No.. Mum, don't treat me like this.. Mum! Heather pulled me out of the hospital.

"Don't ever let me see you again, MARYBELLE!" She smirked and walked into the hospital.

"Mum... No..." I ran to the nearest park and bumped into Rex. He was shocked to see me cried.

"Belle! What happened to you?!"

"Nothing..." I wiped my tears and ran away.

"Belle!" He chased after me.

"Stop following me!"

"Belle... Stop..."

"Belle! I said stop right there!" He yelled. I immediately stopped. He walked towards me and wiped my tears with his hands.

~~Rex's P.O.V~~

"What happened, Belle?"

"I...." She hiccuped.

"It is ok. You can tell me later. Just let it all out." I hugged her tightly. I don't want to let her go. I know once I let her go, she has nobody to rely on. She cried on my shoulder for nearly ten minutes, then suddenly, she stopped and pushed me away.

"I am sorry. I shouldn't have...." She looked miserable.

"It is ok. Didn't you read my letter?"

~~Belle's P.O.V~~

Letter? Oh ya! That letter which fell from my locker!

"What? Not yet." I hiccuped again. "I am sorry but I'm not in the mood to discuss all this craps with you." I.walked away.

"Hey Belle." He shouted and I turned around.

"Can you tell me what's happening?" His expression... It looks like he's pain too. Why... I looked at him and nodded. I didn't even know I nodded but I know I really need someone to talk to right now. I just need someone.
