4 Chapter 04

After school, I quickly packed up my books and ran out of the classroom but Rafe grabbed my hand.

"Belle! Why are you running away from me? You didn't even reply my message. Did something happened?" Rafe asked anxiously.

"Nothing happened. Nothing at all.." I shoved his hand away. "I am fine." I smiled and walked to the bathroom. Why did I have to lie to him for Heather's sake? I am such a failure! I can't even fight for my own right! If only there's someone out there who can help me and understand me. I know April is my best friend but I shouldn't rely on her so much. Damn! I started to hate myself, my life. Everything!

"Take this, bitch!" Someone splashed water at me. "This is my first warning and I promise, it's the last one as well. Don't ever go near Rafe, or else... Something horrible will happen to you or..... April." I couldn't see who's talking because the water went into and hurts my eyes. But that girl sound like Heather's voice.

"Heather? Is that you?" I opened my eyes and realized they're gone. I walked out from the bathroom, soaking wet

"Belle! What happened to you?!" April ran towards me.

"I don't know. Someone warned me not to go near Rafe or else she'll hurt both of us!" I said in a choked voice.

"Someone?"

"I'm sure there's other girls there, it's not just one. If I'm not mistaken.

"Belle! Don't worry! Nothing will happen to both of us, ok?" April walked me to the school gate and I saw my 'second dad' leaning against the wall.

"Dad, why are you here?"

"Dad?" April asked with confused expression.

"I will tell you later." I whispered.

"Oh, Belle! I came to return your student card. You dropped it in my car." He passed me my student card and stared at me. "Belle! Why are you soaking wet?" He asked.

"Some girls did that to her." April answered.

"Some girls?" He echo in horror.

"Ya... Some girls warned her not to go near to Rafe."

"Rafe? Who's Rafe?"

"Rafe is a guy who knew Belle last night at the party."

"They actually did that to you? Could it be.... Heather again?" Dad asked.

"I'm not sure but that girl's voice sound like Heather."

"But why did she do that?"

"Well... Uncle, its pretty much obvious..." April smirked. "Its because Heather felt jealous and uncomfortable when Belle talks to Rafe. That's why she did that. She always taking away Belle's things"

"How can she..... Belle.... and.... you are?"

"April."

"Oh, April.... Get into the car."

"Where are we going, dad?"

"To my house.... Let's dry you up first and then I'll send you home."

"Dad, I'm staying with April now."

"Heather again." April added. April started to tell the story that had just happened last night.

"Come on in..."

"Wow! His house is HUGE!" April whispered. I saw many maids greeted him. Dad led us to his living room.

"Wow! Dad! This living room is bigger than my house! It's so cool!" I said in excitement.

"Father! You're back!" An extremely good-looking guy headed down the stairs. His hair was brown and his eyes were.... blue. They're beautiful.

"Wow! Hot! April whispered.

"Rex, let me introduce this two to you." Rex looked at both of us. "This is April and this is my new daughter, Belle."

"Oh... Hi..." Rex glared at me. I raised my eyebrows in shocked! Did he just glared at me?"

"April, Belle... This is Rex.. my...."

"Hi, Rex....." Suddenly, dad's phone rang.

"Excuse me...."

"Why are you.soaking wet?" Rex asked Impolitely.

"Some girls..." I quickly covered April's mouth to stop her.

"It's nothing. I was playing water with my friends." I smiled. April pushed me aside. "Excuse me...."

"Why didn't you let me say that to him?"

"Didn't you just see? He just glared at me!"

"Did he?"

"Yes, he did." I rolled my eyes.

"Abbie, please dry this girl up and give her extra set of clothes." Rex pointed at me.

"It's ok..." I refused.

"It's not ok.. You're gonna catch a cold!"

"He looked kind." April whispered to me.

"I don't think so though." I replied and was pulled by a maid to the bathroom.

The maid gave me a short pants and a T-shirt. The T-shirt was big. Could it be... Rex's?" I walked to the living room and saw Rex leaning against the wall staring at me with those beautiful eyes that I find it really attractive.

"What are... you looking at?"

"Nothing...." He said that and yet he still looking at me with hesitation.

"Where's dad and April?"

"They went out to the garden."

"Oh... Thanks..." I wanted to walked out of the house but then Rex grabbed my hand.

"What actually happened to you?" There's a glint in his eyes.

"I.... I...." I flounded. "Nothing happened." I walked to the garden and joined April.

"Dad.... I'm not feeling well. Can I go home with April?"

"Ok... I will send you home..."

... ... ... ...

"You're liar! You seem ok! Why did you lied?" April walked to the kitchen and prepare dinner.

"Well, I don't want to see that guy, Rex."

"Why?"

"You know, he asked me what exactly happened. And he glared at me! His eyes are really scary! It's like he wants to kill someone else! Do you need onions?"

"Yes, please... Well, maybe he doesn't look friendly on the outside but inside? Maybe he's trying to be friendly with you but he ended up ruining it? Anyway, I love his eyes, ok? They are so beautiful!"

"..... Not to me.." I lied.

"Whatever!" She rolled her eyes.

~~ Tuesday ~~

"Morning, Beth!"

"Oh.. Hey! Morning!"

"Where's Pierre?" I whispered to April.

"I have No idea. I'll go look for him. See you later."

"Belle, did you realized there's many new transfer students recently?" Beth asked.

"New transfer students?" I said.

"Ya... Let's see. First, it's Rafe and now, a guy named Rex transfer to our school. And next is..."

"Hold on... Hold on! Did you just say Rex?" I asked.

"Ya...."

"What class is he in?" I asked.

"My class. And he is so cool! He doesn't talk much. He's very quiet but very popular in our school and the girls were totally crazy! They keep sticking to Rex and they're really annoying! I couldn't stand it." She rolled her eyes.

"What about Rex?"

"Well, he...? Of course, he thinks they're annoying as well too! He just keep quiet... I have a feeling that Rex is going to explode one day." She giggled. I sighed with relief.

"Why are you....." Beth stared at me.

"Huh? Nothing, nothing...." I smiled. "Hey, Beth... I'm late for class now! Will catch up with you later! Bye!" I waved. I ran and ran wondering will the teacher get angry with me? I am really late!

"Ouch...!" I bumped into someone and my right arm hurts. "Sorry... Sorry...!" I looked up and.... Those beautiful eyes were staring at me. I recognized it! It was Rex's! "Oh.. gosh! I am sorry Rex. I am sorry but I have to go. I will be late for my class." I smiled and walked away.

"Hey Belle!" He shouted. I turned my head and look at him. "Meet me at the library after school. MUST." He then walked away. I couldn't concentrate on my studies. His word 'MUST' is echoing in my mind. Why does he wants me to meet him at the library? I am so frustrated now! Why am I even thinking of him?! He is nobody to me. Right! He's nobody to me!

"Hey Belle..." Rafe whispered. "Are you ok?"

"Huh? I am fine."

"Don't keep anything in your heart, you can....."

"I said I'm fine!" I yelled and slammed my books upon my table. My voice cast a chill over everyone.

"Belle, are you ok? My biology teacher asked concernedly.

"I am good but I have a headache. Can I go to the infirmary room and rest?"

"Sure." He turned to the whiteboard and continue with his lessons.

"I am so sorry, Rafe." I whispered and ran out of class.
