15 Chapter Fifteen: Endless-Part Three

Riding their motorcycles up beside the caravan trucks, they began to shoot into them. The sudden shooting caused an initial panic. Within this panic is when the small raid team took their action. Activating a jammer, the trucks lost their contact. Then they aimed their bullets at the truck tires, making them swerve along their path and lose control. Steering out of their way, Camo excellerated to the front, wanting to overtake the lead and cause further chaos.

An unfamiliar gunshot rang out. In reaction, Camo glanced back, only to see one of their bikes go out of control and the rider crash. Making a sharp turn, Camo rushed to the rider, calling in the "Soldier down" To base. Practically jumping off her bike, Camo rushed to the riders side. Taking the helmet off, Monica's pained eyes looked into Camo's.

"Damn it, No! Hold on Monica. Back up is on the way." Camo said, putting Monica's head on her lap and applying pressure to the bullet wound on her stomach.

At some point, Damien had arrived. He took over applying pressure while Camo shakily stroked Monica's hair back.

"Camo." Monica choked out.

She was in bad pain, it was painted on her face and her voice was heavy with it.

"Yeah Monica?" Camo asked, tears coming to her eyes and her voice as shaky as her hands.

"I love you. You're the best sister ever." Monica said.

"Hey, don't talk like you'll die... " Cami said, forcing a smile. "You'll be fine."

"Don't lie, Cami. Back up is too far." Monica was panting out the words.

Camo bit her lip, trying not to full out cry.

"Damien." Monica gasped.

"Yeah?" He asked, looking into Monica's face.

"Keep her safe." Monica coughed, the movement making her grimace.

"Of course." Damien said seriously.

"Just hold on a little longer... Okay Monica?" Camo said, a tear falling from her eye. "I need my sister. I need you. Wh-who else can I gossip with in the morning...?" Camo asked.

Getting no responce, Camo gently shook Monica.

"Monica?"

Engines could be heard in the distance, back up had arrived.

"Monica!" Camo said louder.

Still no reply. Camo kept trying and Damien kept the pressure steady. Then the medics took over. Once again, Camo was left alone on the ground.

Easing her up, Damien led her to a truck and had her sit down. He watched her closely, obviously worried.

Camo only saw the lifeless eyes of Monica, then of Jason. She thought she felt the warmth leave Monica's skin, thought she heard her last breath. Camo began to shake again, and Damien took her into his arms and held her.

No tears came to Camo this time. Only that sick feeling and the shaking. She couldn't stop shaking. The entire world was spinning, the ringing was back, and all Camo saw was the lifeless eyes of the ones she loved. Over and over. The pain and grief and guilt. It wouldn't stop. The damn shaking wouldn't stop.

'Make it stop."

Camo silently begged, but she wasn't sure if she was asking for the pain to stop, or her heart.
