111 The Squad Returns

In a deep tunnel, the old bronze-colored doorframe was releasing a high-pitched sound as the glowing runes marking were glowing brightly.

The ground started to shake and caused every living creatures in the entire area of the mountain to panic.

Some of them even ran for their lives as they felt an ominous aura seeping out from the ground.

*Boooom!*

Flames burst from the ball of light that was quickly expanding in size until it took over the entire stone walls behind the doorframe.

A dozen shiny armored people jumped out one by one within the portal that was breathing the hot flame.

"Irvin, we are counting on you!"

The big man nodded and slammed a sharp rectangle pillar onto the hard ground.

His shield extended on both side and blocked the rest of the flame as the rest of the team ran toward the hole they came from.

Irvin sweated as he could feel a burning sensation from his entire arm and shoulder that was supporting the shield.

"Oh no!"

The flames were getting stronger as it covered the entire diameters of the tunnel and made it past the shield.

With the push of a button with his thumb, the shield split into the layer, and a red light instantly covered the entire upper part of the tunnel.

The magnetic shield that Bu One built could cover an entire mountain on one side if the energy supply was sufficient for it, so the small diameter of the tunnel was not a problem at all as it blocked rest of the gaps.

"It amazes me no matter how many time I see it..."

After the last person made it through the small part of the tunnel, Lanny shouted at Irvin to let him know that it was his turn.

Irvin pulled out his metal plate from the ground and ran backward as he protected himself from the heat exposure since that was the only reasons why they ran in a hurry in the first place.

With the help from the intense barrage of flames that pushed him backward, Irvin quickly arrived at the small gap and made it out safely with the rest of the squad.

"Phew...Who would have thought that a small flying piece of metal could catch up so fast."

Amy and Elli wiped the sweats off their forehead after escaping from the pursuit of a foreign enemy.

"It looked like a flying shuttle..."

Lili turned around and stared at the broken blade on Amy's hip straps.

"Anyway, that thing is too big to make it through the portal, and we definitely have to report this to the commander."

Evelyn made her way toward the forest as she was in a hurry to return to the ship after receiving a short message from Nodus.

'She must have noticed the message too...'

Lili also saw a red blinking icon as soon she made it out of the portal, but the symbol itself disappeared only after blinking twice, making it almost unnoticeable.

The elf felt defeated as she gathered the rest of the squad and followed Evelyn into the forest with Erica and Lanny guarding the back this times since Amy and her friend had their share during the escape.

"Commander, I received the signals, and as you expected, they went through a wormhole or a celestial tunnel."

Nodus sat up from his bed after he received the message from Bu One and decided to take a shower before they returned.

"Start making those data sentries, I need at least six."

The young man stepped into the shower and came out shortly after completely dry with particle energy he installed on the bathroom ceiling.

Nodus was greeted by Bai An who quietly stood in front of his door like a bodyguard who was extremely into her job as she never left his side ever since they left the temple.

"Good morning senior... And please forgive her."

Bai An and Nodus looked at the short girl who was rubbing her cheek onto the transparent window glass.

"How is this made?! What kind of combinations is required..."

Meanwhile, on the floor underneath her, Meng Chang also had her face plastered on the window.

"Do you think she will be alright?"

The princess was worried as she saw the red-eyed woman who didn't even sleep during the whole trip.

"It's fine princess...She usually stays up for weeks or month if-...I understand now."

Hou Li thoughts aligned with the princess after he thought of the magical bedroom that the addicted blacksmith has yet to explore.

"It is... A good morning."

The young man sat on the edge of the roof and enjoyed the fresh scent of nature during the earliest sunrise as he stared above the walls.

"Senior?"

Bai An and Lingxi were curious, and they stared in the same direction as him.
