82 The small green Fairy

Before the little girl could fall onto the ground , Nodus sighed and decided to support her.

"Wha-?"

Green was shocked as she was suddenly lifted up like a princess by a stranger and before she could push that person away , Nodus revealed his face through his tinted visor.

"Ah! Nodus?!"

As the orange tint disappeared , Green ceased her little struggle and blushed slightly as her cheeks turned red.

"Yes."

"How did you... Never mind that , could you please carry me to the bottom?"

"Alright."

Although she was curious and with many thoughts going through her mind , Green just ignored the fact that he was here and pointed at a the entrance of the split tunnels.

"If we take that path.. We will arrive at the place that I have to go to!"

Green looked at him with a grateful expression and before she could even thank him , she felt a breeze of wind rubbing her cheeks.

"Ah!"

Nodus did not waste any times as he dashed through the passage that he remembered from his own map.

She quietly held onto his neck until they arrived at a dead-end.

"We're here , please stay behind me Nodus!"

The young man nodded as she slowly made her way toward the rooted walls and placed one hand against it.

After a quiet whisper of prayers , the root walls shook as it slid downward , revealing another dark tunnel.

Nodus followed the young girl through the new entrance and the hidden door slid back up as they made it past the dead-end.

Shortly after walking for a little bit more , they arrived at a big and bright open space that was filled with many tiny green light particles.

Green lifted her hand to indicate Nodus to stop before making her way to the center of the tall root walls.

Nodus halted his steps has he was more curious about the big moving energy node that turned out to be a bigger ball of green light floating around the empty space closest to the ceilings.

Green closed her eyes and held her hands together before chanting some foreign words that the young man never heard before.

The big green ball of light slowly descended as it heard her prayers and as soon the it reached Green , the light became even brighter than before.

"*Poof*"

The expended light exploded by sending out many green tiny particles in every directions.

The fairy of nature finally revealed herself within the green ball and held her tiny hands on the young girl cheeks.

The fairy had a short green hair and pink eyes with a cute tiny face that would make everyone instantly love her.

"Child... You are not strong enough yet."

Compared to her small appearance and size , the fairy voice did not sounded like a child at all and sounded even more mature than Vaneria who lived for thousands of years.

"Please master fairy! Everyone's lives are in danger and I will do anything to safe them , even if it cost my life!"

The young girl pleaded with her teary eyes as she stared at the winged fairy who wore a piece of leaf that wrapped around her like a dress.

The fairy revealed a confused expression before patting Green on the forehead.

"I can feel that you are not lying and that you are a good child with a limitless future.. But the entire deity tree should be able to protect everyone in the city.."

Green shook her head before telling the fairy to read her mind , which in turns , extremely shocked the fairy.

Although the fairy existed ever since the ancient era , she only explored the outside world once with her first and only master who was the ancestor of the Joyful Lake city.

The fairy did not know about the current situation as she always slept within these rooted walls of the tree and also because of the ancestor orders.

Her master was afraid that she would be influenced by the living beings of the outside world and strictly told her to wait here for the destined one.

The fairy was a innocent being and she could easily develop a bad personality , especially during the treacherous era when the planet separated into two.

"Oh my goodness , I must do something!!"

After separating her forehead from the young girl , the fairy who saw the images of the invaders started to panic as she flew in a small circle.

"That's right!! We have to hurry , let's go!"

Green turned back and after taking a few steps , she noticed the young man's gaze.

"But master told me not to leave until the right one is chosen.."

The ancestor placed a array system on the entire island that would automatically choose the person who had a high enough affinity with the fairy and ever since she passed away , no one has yet to be the chosen one.

That was the only reasons why most of the Joyful sect masters would be focused on cultivating to get stronger and if they couldn't get the array to choose them withing a thousands years of times , they would have to find the next candidate with the highest potential and raise them carefully.

"I know why... That is precisely why I will sacrifice myself , my body has been cultivated and tempered with thousands of nature spirit... So it should be enough to at least scare them away right?"

Nodus saw the sad expression of Green from the reflection of the fairy eyes and sighed as he took a step forward.

"No need , I can handle them."

He placed his hand on her shoulder before turning back to the exit since his goal was finally met.
