96 The Connections - 3

The young man was fiddling with the hologram keyboard as he modified many components on the flat monitor in front of him.

"Fontus Dacrisma cells eliminated, initiating injection."

A robot voice spoke from the screen before Nodus turned around and stood up from his chair.

After he brought the princess into his ship and led her into the medication room through one of the doors, Nodus told her to lay down on the particular bed that instantly made her unconscious.

As she faded away into the realm of dreams, Nodus analyzed her entire body and used a drop of her blood as a sample to figure out exactly the cause of her weakened state.

After a short duration with the mix and match from his computer database, he quickly figured out a way to cure the princess, but the young man had something else in mind before that.

Nodus approached the sleeping beauty and gently lifted up the pendant that was around her neck in the air with his power.

'It's pink...'

The hair color and her love for pink reminded Nodus of someone who is really close to him.

'Are they safe?'

Nodus shook his head and studied the pink necklace with the help of Z1.

"Mineral unknown, space fabric tissue found."

The young man nodded as if he wasn't surprised before putting back down the necklace.

*Flips*

With a flick of the switch by the bed, Nodus left the room and went to the kitchen that was part of the main room.

He opened up the fridge, took out some vegetables and meat before placing them on the cutting board.

The chopping sound could be heard, echoing through the room as he skillfully diced the meat in pieces.

Reminiscing about his past, his closest and only friends that were always around him, the ones who always drooled whenever he cooked, the ones that were always there by his side.

Although the young man missed them, he knew that it was practically impossible to harm his friends as long the throne was still around.

'Leaving the throne behind to protect the main ship wasn't a bad idea after all.'

Nodus comforted himself as the incident caused him to gain a lot more than losses.

Since he could quickly pinpoint the throne whenever he broke through the Galactic Star ranks, Nodus wanted at least to use the times he had to build up an army before that moment arrived.

'Maybe I should build a space fleet too .. Or I should use those star beast as a fortress..'

After mixing some herbs and seasoning, Nodus threw the diced meat onto the frying pan that was heated up in a medium temperature mode.

The sizzling sound made Nodus forget about everything else as he focused his attention on the meat.

As the beef looking meat turned slightly brown, Nodus threw in the vegetables and poured some sauce all around the pan.

*Pshhhhhh*

The sauce caused the sizzling sound to become even louder before quickly subsiding down as he stirred around with a long wooden spoon.

The princess Song Ai smiled, and a drop of tears on the edge of her eyes could be seen as she dreamed about the happiest day of her life before she slowly woke up.

"Hmm?"

With a little yawn that was covered by her hand, Song Ai noticed that she was all alone in the room.

"Where is..?"

The door suddenly opened up by itself, and the aroma of the food caused the princess to stand up.

"It smells so good.."

The princess felt her stomach begging for food as she followed the scent.

"Nodus?"

The princess called out his name as she stared at his pair of hands that was holding onto a mountain of meat and vegetables.

"Sit."

Nodus carried the plate and laid it on the table of the main room before walking back into the kitchen area to grab a rice cooker.

The princess gulped and sat down on the soft couch as her gaze never left the stir-fried dish.

Nodus poured some rice grain and water into the rice cooker before carrying it onto the table.

After setting up the table with two plates and spoons, he pressed onto the orange button of the rice cooker, causing it to heat up and 5 seconds later, the rice was already done.

Song Ai swallowed her saliva even more as she watches Nodus scooping some white and tender looking rice onto his plate.

"Here, eat."

Nodus put the plate of rice right in front of her before serving himself a few scoops of rice.

"Wow... Delicious!"

Song Ai copied Nodus as she did not know how to eat this foreign meal and shortly after, she felt like she was transported into a colorful dream as she savored the flavor of the meat and vegetables.

With one hand stroking her cheek and the other holding onto the spoon, her expression caused Nodus to chuckle as he could perfectly see the princess that he knew doing that.

'They are alike..'

That caused Nodus to feel a warmth in his heart as the silhouette of Maria took over the princess in his eyes.

After putting the dishes away, Nodus brought two glass cup that was filled with a green liquid.

"Tea, good for your skin and health."

The princess who was still in her imagination land picked up the glass and took a sip without noticing that it was cold.

"Wa...This is tea?.."

The sweet water woke her up as she stared at the glass cup with interest.

"Cold tea... We would never thought of that.."

Song Ai took many tiny sips as she wanted to savor the taste while Nodus sighed and shook his head as she acted just like Maria.

"Now, we can get onto business."

Nodus gently placed the cup on the table and stared at the princess with a meaningful gaze.

Song Ai also noticed his expression as she nodded with a stern face before placing down her cup.

The princess agreed that she would give him any information in exchange for helping her and, based on how well he did, Song Ai knew that there was turning back.

'He cured my internal wounds and soul injuries..'

The princess' fist tightened as she rested them on her laps and shortly after, Nodus asked her a question that shocked her more than anything in her entire life.
