85 Testing The Waters

His entire body slowly came off from the invisibility camo from head to toes as he made his way past the old Mai and stood infront of the balcony doors.

"That was them , testing the waters."

Vaneria remained quiet as she stared at the back of Nodus.

"Even if you are Gre-..Jiang's friend , you still had no right to steal something that doesn't belong to you."

Green wanted to stop her mom but was held back by the old maid instead as they watched the situation unfolding.

"Right , I took it and none of you could of stopped me because I am stronger.

Nodus turned around and with a flash of light , his helmet disappeared , revealing his pale face with a pair of golden eyes with long black hair that almost reached the floor.

Vaneria and Mai were both shocked as they saw the appearance of a young man that fitted perfectly with his short height.

'Isn't he just a child.. Why can't I feel his qi at all..? And he came from that portal..'

Every higher up knew that the portal was protected by a dragon therefore the young man's existence caused Vaneria to have a change of mind.

"But.. You have three choice."

Vaneria woke up from her thoughts and stared at the young man with a puzzled expression.

"One , I will leave and you can't stop me , two , I closed the portal so I am the only one that can open it , three... I get rid of them."

Vaneria abruptly stood up in anger and opened her mouth.

"You only have one choice and answer."

Nodus walked out through the balcony door before she could even complain.

"Mom! Nodus means well.."

"Vaneria , that young boy isn't a bad person.. He could of just returned to his realm and instead he chose to remain here.."

The young girl and old maid were trying to comfort the sect master who felt troubled.

"Sect master! Bad News!!! The enemy are coming back and this times... They have a bigger army!"

An elder who stood below the mansion shouted loudly before running toward the bell tower to alert everyone.

The air vibrated as the sound of the bell passed through the surrounding of the ocean.

The three girls ran to the balcony and stared up the sky.

"Oh no.."

The old maid and Green felt like it was the end of their world as they saw 6 large carrier type spacecraft that was accompanied by a massive flock of fighter ships approaching the planet.

"That's the first squad out of many and those are most likely a courier ship that act as a station , they also carry thousands of ground weapons and are protected by a layer of barrier."

Nodus knew exactly what they were carrying and also the numbers of the entire fleet.

'Interesting.. They are only carrying a capsule.. Are they that confident with their own strength.'

Nodus saw thousands of capsule that could fit at least 3 people that were made with shock resistance-like materials.

Vaneria gulped and replied with only one word as she stared at those carrier ships that were even bigger than her entire island.

"T..Three...please-"

A intense ray of light came down from the sky that almost blinded everyone and after the light disappeared , they heard a loud explosion sound that came with a gust of wind that pushed the clouds away from the entire northern skies.

*Beep! Beep! Beep!*

"We Lost ALC One!"

"Cause , unknown!"

"It was most likely shot by a laser ! Look , the AI indicated a unusual high temperature before exploding!"

The soldiers were running around the computer screens as they try to figure out what happened.

"D*mn it! What happened?!"

Bacis slammed onto his armrest and stood up as he stared at the giant screen that displayed the carrier that was shot down.

"Alcides , talk."

The secretary who stood behind him gulped as he took a step forward.

"General... We must retreat."

"Are we admitting defeat against those lowly lifeforms who lives with the past?!"

Alcides gulped once again and coughed as he thought about how dumb his ancestors were for ignoring the potential of technology in the first place.

'We had it all these times!'

He would hear those jokes wherever he left his house and curse the past generation for having ape-like intelligence.

'All these times?! More like for millions of years!'

"Alcides?"

Bacis was patient enough as he thought that his smartest soldier , the brain of the entire fleet was thinking about the cause of the explosion.

"A? Ah , yes general , I only said that because that planet might have a unknown force that could be a threat to us , please look at the heat point."

Alcides zoomed into the ship with the use of his tablet as he explained his theories.

"A invisible laser that was so perfectly made that we couldn't even pick up the heat signature before the impact... And it should of came from the planet too so if we calculate the angle of the trajectory... It should of came from 200 000 miles in that direction.. If they were in space we could of detected them through space movement but we didn't.. So either they are still in the planet , or their technology is far superior to us."

Bacis listened to the long explanation with a couple of nods before ultimately making the decision to continue the invasion.

"General..?"

Alcides was puzzled as he took a step back to his position and waited for the answers.

"It's probably a treasure from these lowlifes and.. It could be a one use thing with a high cooldown... Who knows , we Herox are brave and won't run away this easily!"

Alcides sighed as he face-palmed.

'How many sacrifice do we need before retreating..'
