121 New Store

After the pair of siblings arrived, Nodus decided to hold a little meeting in the laboratory on the backyard.

Kana was puzzled when she heard that they would be having a meeting in an empty grassy field but was shocked when she saw Helena slowly vanishing when the young girl with a single step forward.

The laboratory was programmed with a detection module that made it turn invisible whenever someone that wasn't registered in the system had a line of sight on it.

"Just follow her."

Kana held onto her sister's hand and realized that she was in a completely different area after opening her eyes.

The pair turned around and saw Nodus walking through the open gap.

"Wow... Is this also magic?"

Arna easily struggled her way out from her sister grip and found nothing exciting in the empty warehouse-like laboratory.

"Come, have a seat."

Helena waited for Nodus before she followed him toward the center while Kana was trying to figure out if she wether to sit on the floor or not as she did not see any furniture on the empty floors.

Suddenly, when Nodus got close to the center, a hologram set of chairs and table appeared out of nowhere.

The young man waited a few seconds for the chair to materialized before sitting down.

The little Arna felt slightly dizzy as she witnessed too many miracles for the day.

Nodus materialized the little bird and gave it to Arna so she plays around with it while the adults would have a serious conversation.

Kana did not know what was going on, but she still felt nervous.

"Ah...I forgot I am sorry Nodus... The gifts I brought from the village are with mister Bu One."

Kana explained that the children and their parents prepared many gifts for him as a token of gratitude for the books that she received for free.

"It's fine, I will have picked it up tonight and tell me more about the area around your village, wasn't it close to the main road?"

"Yes, our village is actually the second one close to Enlin city, it branches off to a small path through the forest, but it's concise, so the chance of encountering a magical beast is meager..."

The village was called Ita and just like any other villages, the chief would be responsible for the welfare of his people while maintaining the security of the entire village and because her community is so close to the city, their hired guards cost was cheaper than the ones that settled down further away.

The guards would live in the village for at least a week and up to a month before returning to the city since everyone who wasn't used to live in a small place would get quickly bored in it so the chief would have to hire another pair of guards and rotate through different people every month.

"And because of that, our village is very safe and can always escape to the city in case of a beast tide..."

Other than bandits who rarely target villages that could afford guards, their only threat would be the magical beast.

"The forest around the mountain has so much food that we never get hungry but is the processing part would be the most difficult situation in our village, we only have one butcher and one herbalist."

"What about visitors?"

The main road was popular and densely crowded before the winter season which sometimes results in people seeking shelters in their village.

"I see..."

"Helena, do you want to go outside of the city?"

Helena happily agreed to go with Nodus as she was stuck with her uncle for a while now after opening a family branch in this city.

"Huh...? Nodus?"

Kana was confused when she saw the young man suddenly standing up.

"Kana, I will open a store in or close to your village, will you work for me?"

Kana felt like everything froze, she was shocked by the sudden offer that would change the life of everyone in the village, including her own.
