9 10th birthday! (part 2)

I wake up to the early morning sun of the spring season. Yesterday was the best day of my life. I am also excited for today since its the day of the party. I hope it will be the best one yet. I cant wait to see Yen. Last time she was here was a few weeks ago. She only comes by to fix my shields. I don't know what I'd do without her.

I get up from bed and head downstairs to see everyone. Everyone made it except Eskal and Lambert. Yen is here to, didn't think she would be here so early. I walk over to her and give her a big hug. I'm still smaller than her, I'm catching up though. She hugs me back and looks at me.

"I can't believe four years have gone by so quickly. It seems just like yesterday I brought you to Kaer Morhen." She says happily. She seems like she is in a better mood since the last time I saw her. I wonder if her and Geralts relationship is better now.

"So how was everything in Vizima Yen? Last time you said the war was going to intensify." I ask her. She is the consult to the emperor of Nilfgaard. She doesn't have that much time to visit because of her responsibilities, add that to her problems with Geralt and I hardly see her.

"Now why would a 10 year old want to find that out, huh?" She asks me in a sweet voice. I want to know more about what she does. She usually keeps that stuff hidden from me.

"You never talk about your job and you don't spend that much time around here anymore. I want to know how you are doing." I say to her. She has a look that my mother used to give me.

~~~(POV Yennefer)~~~

You hold my heart in a tight grip Cera. I don't know what I'd do if you died or disappeared. I hear others approaching us as well. Seems its time to talk to Vesemir and Geralt about what I plan to do.

"Can you go play with Ciri for awhile Cera. I need to talk to Vesemir and Geralt." I say to him. He gives a look of understanding as he heads off to play with Ciri outside. The two men approach me and I can see they are unhappy.

"I hope you know what you are doing Yen. This is going to hurt both of them really badly." I hear Vesemir say to me. My heart aches when I hear that. I don't want to separate the two, but Cera grows more dangerous by the day.

"You don't think I know that. This is the only option right now. When Ciri's powers manifest I'll have to do the same thing. Cera is just to far ahead right now." I say to Vesemir as my mood fouls the more I think about it.

"Well, its not like your wrong Yen. I only fear for the future." Vesemir says cryptically. I could read his mind, however I need to deal with another problem. I look to Geralt.

"I was hoping we could talk later? Before the party. I want to clear the air between us." I say to Geralt.

"Sure Yen. I'm glad we are deciding to talk instead of ignore." He says to me. I admit that irks me more that I care to admit. I have not been cooperative though, so I can't say anything.

~~~(POV Cera)~~~

Ciri and me are walking on our favorite trail near Kaer Morhen. After awhile we reach the cliff side looking over the lake as the morning sun is still rising. We slow down and sit as we look out to the landscape. Soon the silence breaks with a question.

"So now that you are getting better at magic do you think you can teach me? Maybe it will help bring out my powers to." Ciri asks me.

"Yeah, I am still bad at it though. Only learned a couple of things. Its hard to control the Elder Blood to perform normal magic. Elven magic is easier though." I answer as she give me a big smile.

"I love that about you Cera. You always try to help others even if its a burden to you." I hear her say.

"Thanks, I got that from my mom." I say to her in response. I guess it wasn't what she wanted to hear.

"What do you love about me?" She demands. I get it now, man I need to work on picking up hints. I think fast. I wasn't hard to find something I love though.

"I love how you stand up for yourself and others, I also fancy your beautiful eye's." I say in a slow paced voice. She blushes and looks away from me. Guess I did a better job at that than she did to me.

~~~(POV Ciri)~~~

"You make me feel funny when you say things like that Cera." I say as I give him a light slug on his shoulder. I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't in my life Cera. You make me feel so special.

"You make me feel funny too. I guess this is what Yen meant when you can feel love for another person." He says confidently. I blush even harder after that little comment. He doesn't even know what he does too me. The little sneak as found a huge place in my mind and heart.

"How do you always know what to say Cera?" I ask in a slightly pathetic voice. I want these reactions from Cera, not the other way around.

"Yen always told me to say what come from my heart. If you really do love someone it isn't hard to find things to love." He answers me. I need to make sure that he only has eye's for me. With a mind and mouth like that he will get any women to fall for him.

I take this opportunity to quickly approach him. I am now shoulder to shoulder with him. I give him a look that says everything I intended to do right now.

"Consider this your birthday present from me." I say as I give him a gentle kiss. After a long 10 second I pull away. I feel like my head is dizzy and my lips are swollen. I then notice a mischievous look on his face. Before I realized it, he had my lips captured again. The kiss started out like the one's we had so far. Then he leaned his head to the left and mine to the right. He slowly moves his lips and I follow unconsciously.

I close my eyes to enjoy this amazing new sensation. It is so much better than what I did. He slows down and pulls away. Our eyes are still closed so we fail to see the green electricity. We are both breathing pretty heavy after that one. More so me than him.

"Where did you learn how to do that?" I ask him half excited and half suspiciously. I know he didn't learn it from another girl because I am the only one around him.

"I read it in Lara's diary. She was very descriptive of her experience's. Is that weird?" He says to me. It would be if it was Yen or Geralt that taught him that. So in my opinion this is much better.

"No, its not weird. I think that Lara had the right idea." I say to him teasingly. I notice we have been out for a good while.

"We should head back to everyone else before they come look for us." I say as I get up. Cera quickly follows and we make it back to Kaer Morhen before 10:00am. This day can't get any better.
