3 Welcome Party

The next day, that same great morning and a hesitant walk to the school.

The classes were as dull as ever. So, Jason and I both decided to skip some of the classes. We were both chilling on the roof of the school.

"So did you find it? The watch?" I asked Jason as he was holding his can of soft drink while standing aside a fence.

Many times I thought, why is it that Jason is so popular? What makes him so unique? I got the answers that day. Seeing him standing by the fence and looking at the sky, you can see and understand why girls are attracted to him. He really is that good. I thought for a brief moment and then suddenly realized that I was staring at him as I did at pretty girls, "I like Girls, you like girls, you idiot," I whispered to myself.

As soon as I asked, he pulled something from his pocket and threw it towards me. It was a pocket-watch, a brownish-gold watch that looked like an antique or something like that.

"Is it the one you were..." I said with a confused look.

"Yes, this is the one I used to see in my dreams." He replied in a confident tone.

"Are you sure?" I asked to seek confirmation.

"Yeah," he replied with the same confidence he had.

"Really sure?" I asked because it was hard to believe.

"Oh, come on now—I have watched that dream like a million times, and I am pretty sure how that thing looks." He replied in a rather annoyed tone.

Well, now, this complicates things a lot. Because now, it's sure that this girl can be a real deal. But then the real question, or should I say questions are that, Who is she? What's her relationship with Jason? Where is she? There are probably more questions in my mind than Jason right now.

"Where did you find it?" I asked

"In the storeroom," He replied.

"What are you going to do?" I asked him as he and found the thing which connected him and the girl.

"I got the watch. So, now it means she is real, right?" he said as he drank his soft drink.

"How can you be so certain? I mean, I did say that it proves she is real, but you said you found it the storeroom. It can also mean that it was given to you by someone from your relatives. So, your mother kept it in the storeroom," I pointed out as it was highly unlikely for me to make it fit in my head that dreams can be real.

But what I said, it was a valid point too.

He stood upright thinking and said nothing. I sensed that he was confused and was disturbed.

"Maybe we should ask Staci about this. She might know what this actually is, because it kind of looks vintage." I said as she looked like smart and a kind nerd. Bookworms are one particular breed that comes handy in this kind of situation.

"There you are, I was looking all over for you guys. What are you doing here?" a voice came from behind. It was from Mark.

"Nothing, just chilling," answered Jason.

"Well, the President's looking for you. She said she wants to hold a meeting." He said and asked us to join him.

Jason nodded to Mark and asked him to lead the way. As soon as Mark turned his back towards us, he came to me and whispered, "Okay, we'll ask her."

As we were walking by the hall, someone called us from behind. It was from a girl. We all turned back to confirm it, and it was a girl. Mark and I were both delighted as we thought; finally, this was when we will get invited on a date. But then we both realized the person standing right beside us was the Fanny Magnet himself. And as we thought that, she walked past us to Jason.

"Hi! My name is Lily; if you are free tomorrow, can we hang out?" she asked while looking around. She was acting all shy. Our hearts were broken, and dreams were shattered. For a moment, we really had started cursing Jason for his looks, but then we calmed down.

"I'll let you know," replied Jason casually.

She walked away with total joy on her face. We resumed our walking, and as we were, Mark asked, "Hey, do you guys know how to get a girlfriend? I think I've tried everything."

Well, he indeed has tried everything, and I wonder why he hasn't got a girlfriend. Who am I kidding here? I know why he has no girlfriend, and I am assuming you guys know it too.

"Well, why don't you try searching for them on E-Bay? I think they may be selling one or two." I responded in the most identifiable face to regard it as a sarcastic comment.

"Ya, I haven't tried that, thanks," replied Mark as he walked and opened the club's door.

On the other hand, we both stood there with our grave faces gazing towards Mark as he walked inside.

"I wonder when he'll activate those brain cells in his head. Is there any way to do that?" Jason said with a brooding face.

It was evident for him to react this way as I am sure I made a perfectly deadpan face to make him understand that it's a joke, and I am not sober, and as far as I know, this is related to common sense. I really don't how we will deal with 'the sharpest tool in the shed.' I don't know when, but I hope that someday I'll use this phrase to actually appreciate him. I really really hope.

We entered the room, as well. Carol was sitting in the middle; of course, she should is the President after all. Staci sat on the right side and Amy on the left. Mark sat beside Amy, and Jason and I sat beside Staci on the left side. It was all intense; it almost felt like a courtroom meeting in the aftermath of Chernobyl.

"Okay, listen up. This is our first meeting, and you need to understand that anything we do, we say in this room should not leave this room. Are we clear?" said the Madam President as for right now, the club wasn't just a school management club but was a particular small unit that was set up by the MI7.

So I responded, "Understood, so what do we know about the terrorists that have been entering the state?"

"We have to decide who will do the covert ops," added Jason as he knew I would comment something sarcastically. He always knows when I'll use my sarcasm.

"Yep, the stealth missions too. They are important." surprisingly, was added by Amy. I was shocked and surprised, but more than that, I was happy because I finally got someone who understands my humor other than Jason, and more than that, she accepts it and supports it.

"I don't really have anything to say," replied Mark as he thought we were giving our suggestions to her, or maybe he thought we were playing a game. It can't be surprising because, as I said, he is the sharpest tool in the shed.

"Me neither," added Staci. I think she just replied because everyone was saying something. I can't think of anything more than that.

"Oh! Shut up!" Carol aroused with a hunted face, which made us all quiet and frightened, "I am trying to have a serious discussion, and Kyle, I am warning you. Never-- interrupt-- me."

It was clear that if I spoke a single word, I should be ready with my own cremation ceremony. So, I decided to be silent throughout the meeting.

She filled us in with details about her plans for the school. The first of them was the Welcome Party.

It was decided that there would be a surprise party for the freshman's this year. So, this was our first task to plan and organize a party.

"So, anyone has any ideas on how the party should be?"

We were all thinking, and suddenly Mark stood up as he had one in his mind, "I have something. Why don't we try organizing a water-party?"

"Huh? And how will you do it?" asked Jason.

I didn't have a slightest idea of what a water party means, and it looked like not only me, but no one had the idea of what it means. It was clear that Mark made this up on his own.

"We will gather everyone in the hall and then turn on the sprinklers used by the fire safety unit which will make it look like a rainfall." he said and then turned towards Carol, "It will be kind of romantic and will something unique."

It was a good idea, but I felt that we were missing something and wondered how Mark came up with this idea. I mean, it's unusual. He always does things beneficial for him, but I don't see the benefit for him here.

As I was thinking about this, Mark leaned over the table and whispered, "It's a great plan, right? Girls will be wet, all wet, from head to toe, and if we are lucky, then we might see through those school uniforms too." he said with a creepy pervert face.

"There's the pervert intention, we were missing. For a moment, I thought it was a simple idea to make the party, but then I remembered it was you who proposed it." I said with a straight face.

"What did you just say?" a voice came from sideways. It was Caroline, she was enraged. As I said earlier, she can't stand pervert people, and the fun fact is we have Mark in our club. It was bound to happen sometime. But the thing was Mark whispered to us which barely reached our ears, how did she even know what he said. I don't know, but I always thought she had Pervert-Radar or something like that, which helped her track them down.

She stood up and started walking towards him. It was so quick and silent that we didn't even notice how did that all happened

It was just like a lion who walked through the bushes silently to catch its prey. Mark was definitely off guarded by that. She came with a powerful Heel Palm strike, which made Mark lose his stability and then using the opportunity, she banged his head over to the table and while using her foot as neck restrain and then pulling his arm backward, she said, "This is the first and the last warning I am giving you, I should never hear that again."

It was pleasant as well as a horrible sight to watch. Pleasant because Mark was getting beaten up and wretched because I thought of me being in his position if I ever pissed her off. I mean, I would literally die.

It almost felt like Mark was going unconscious, and we all thought that if it went on like this, we would have to keep a dead corpse in the club room. So I said, "You say it is the last warning, but it's of no use if you kill him right now."

"Yeah, he is right. Prez, you need to stop," added Amy with a concerned voice.

As soon as Amy finished her speech, Carol realized that she had strangled him to death and released him. We helped calm down and then asked her to sit at her place. On the other hand, Mark, who had a death-defying experience, was relieved that he was given a chance to survive. He started breathing heavily and avoided eye contact with Carol for the rest of the meeting.

"Anyways, it wouldn't have been possible for us, 'cause it would lead to a lot of wastage of water, and our teachers won't allow us to do so," said Staci concerning he situation and cutting off Mark's idea from the list.

We had to do something, come up with something to change in the atmosphere in the room.

"We'll keep it a simple party, nothing special has to be done—kind of a housewarming party. We'll have some good food and drinks," recommend Staci. It was a decent idea, and after all, it is just a party for introductions. We all thought that it was a good idea, so we agreed upon that.

"Yes, that's a great idea, and I know just the right place for food. There's a small restaurant which provides catering services. It is cheap, and food there tastes good too." said Amy with great excitement, "What do you guys think?"

"Okay, that is what we are gonna do now." said Carol as she stood up and walked towards the window on her back, "Amy will be in charge of food, and Mark will be the one in charge of drinks."

"Which drinks?" asked Mark hopelessly.

"Vodka, Whiskey—its been a long time since I had sipped them," I said with a deadpan face. Seriously, I don't understand this guy what drinks we could possibly drink. We're underage to have any alcohol, which then remains is only cold drinks or soft drinks.

"I'll be specific, 'SOFT DRINKS' she said while turning back, "Now—please don't mess up" she completed it with a real dark face. Now, it really felt like a devil has escaped the bonds of hell because that girl is one hell of a scary thing.

Mark nodded with his hands shivering, and his feet trampling as he tried to stand. After that, the devil left us. She said she had some work to do. As soon as she left, we took our leave too, 'cause there was nothing for us to do. The five of us decided to go together.

As we were walking down the path, "So, how was your day? Anything good or special happened?" Amy asked us all.

"Yep, nothing for us but Ladiesman217 just got a date for himself," I replied while looking at Jason. Amy quickly understood whom I am talking about. I guess she must have realized that too, that Jason is famous inside the school.

She came in front of us and stood before Jason and asked, "Really? Who is she?"

"Umm—Lily—I guess. She is in the other class," he answered with a downcast face.

"Where are you guys going?" she asked him again in a curious manner.

"I—I don't know, she asked me if I was free tomorrow, but then we have the party. Guess I'll just spend the time with her at the party," he answered in the same manner as before. Come to think of think, he actually remembered the girl's name because it is unusual for someone so famous like him who meets people just the same number of stars in the sky. Wait, that was over-exaggeration. But what I mean to say is that it is tough for a person like him to remember the names of every person he faces. I guess it is just because he is friendly and considers everyone worth remembering.

"Great! You got a date for yourself this early. It's just the start of the year. You really are popular, huh?" exclaimed Amy with a cute smile.

It was an obvious question for us to answer as he was never going to answer that. So, for that I started speaking but was suddenly interrupted by Mark, "Yes, he is, I really want to live his life. Just for one day—yes, one day is enough for me." who said exactly what I wanted to say except that living Jason's life thing.

"Mark, you should really control yourself and act sensibly in front of Prez. You really could have died today if it wasn't for Amy and Kyle," said Staci while walking with a sense of concern as Mark, being beaten by Carol, was still behaving the same.

"Yeah, she is right.—Seriously, girls are not everything. Why don't you understand that?" added Jason with a bright face.

As soon as he finished, Mark walked in front of him, furiously and said, "You have no right to say that, Ladiesman."

"Yep, I am with him on this." I supported Mark in-jokey manner to tease Jason as he is always surrounded by women.

Mark and I kept on teasing him. Meanwhile, Staci and Amy both were giggling while walking beside us. It was a great day, after all. Now, the only thing left was thinking about the 'Party.'

I hoped that it should go as planned but will it really? I don't know.

(Jason's house)

"Hey, Kyle-- So, about the watch. We were going to ask Staci, right?" he said on the phone.

"Yep, but we didn't get the chance to ask her. Maybe tomorrow we will, I'll see when she is alone and not busy, then I'll ask her." I replied as I was on the other side of the line.

"Try asking your mom, she might have the idea where it came from, and if it is given by any relative, then she might recognize it," I added.

"Okay, I will," he replied, "But Kyle, remember no one should know about this." he completed.

"As you wish."
